  1. Seriously that was unreal. Well it looks like the BCS is in for some fun the next couple of weeks. Plus I have to cheer for OU one more week  . Anyways at hopefully Bradford will decide to go to the NFL now  . This I don't understand...why? If OU loses, then it's a tie between Texas and Tech for the South, Tech wins the tiebreaker head-to-head.. Yes, though I guess its possible that even if Tech went to the Big 12 Championship and won Texas could still somehow be ahead of them and #2 in the BCS after the title game. I think it's more likely they get to #2 by Tech losing the B12 Championship.

  3. By this logic, Georgia is only slightly better than 5 loss Kentucky and Vandy, 6 loss Auburn, 4 loss South Carolina, and 7 loss Tennessee. Except Georgia's win over Auburn in reality was more than four points on the scoreboard. Except that Georgia's win over Kentucky was A LOT more than the four points on the scoreboard. Let's put it this way, Stafford did more offense than Kentucky did....and Moreno went off in that game. Georgia kicked the crap out of Vandy. Georgia kicked the crap out of Tennessee. Georgia didn't kill the fighting Ball Coach's, but the '[expletive] aren't a bad football team. They're decent. Are you really making this argument in comparison to a game where Alabama went up on Georgia by 31 points, then played out the clock in the second half? This is embarrassing.
  4. Tech is absolutely better than Georgia, and they have the record to prove it. They have the record to prove it? If they play Florida, they lose. If they play Alabama, they probably lose. That's the two losses that Georgia has. It's really up for debate. You can throw Texas Tech, Georgia, Penn State, Ohio State, and Utah all in the same group. What's Georgia's big win? 4 loss LSU or 4 loss South Carolina? Okay? Your point? We're not sitting here and looking at the quality of their resumes. We're looking at what would happen if they were to play. That's the point. Really, all I am saying is that Texas Tech's reputation was built largely on teams that were probably not nearly as good as we thought they were. Georgia's reputation was partly built on last years team - and it should be considering it's essentially the same team. If you put Texas Tech and Georgia on the same field, it's going to be a close game. Texas Tech's not better than Georgia by much - if at all. On the other hand, Georgia's not better than Texas Tech by that much if at all. They're interchangeable. I will give you that their resume this season based purely on the wins is higher. However, considering everything it takes to make a rational decision to decide who is more likely to win if they played, we need to take in a helluva lot more than just who they've beaten, who they lost to and so on. Once you sum up everything, really Georgia's not any worse than Tech. You are really all over the place, your valuation of how good teams are varies to make the SEC team in question look better, or non-SEC team in question look worse.

  8. Does Herbstreit know they are live?
  9. What in the world happened that the ref was about to kill Harris?
  10. No one misses more crucial extra points than Oregon State.
  11. How many Tech defensive backs are going to get juked out of their shoes? My goodness.
  12. On what basis? Texas beat OU (slimly, albeit) and lost to Tech in Lubbock (very, very slimly). I don't think they should. You have a triangle of wins between OU/Tech/Texas. Tech has the worst schedule of the 3, with no games of note beside the 3 south teams, and 2 of those 3 were at home. OU has non-con wins over Cincy and TCU, in addition to Tech(in this scenario). Texas has OU, Mizzou, and OSU. So, I'd say that Texas probably deserves to stay in front this week, but OU would probably deserve to jump them if they beat OSU next week.
  13. Ruffin McNeil looked like he was near tears during that huddle shot.
  14. Ole Miss is in line for the Cotton Bowl? I guess that makes sense, but wow.
  15. Snow, packed crowd, and a big game for PSU/MSU, looks awesome.
  16. Why would you read youtube comments, I'm pretty sure it's outlawed as a torture treatment by the Geneva convention.
  17. Sisco had a ton of value at one point, but it certainly wasn't when he was taken in Rule 5. He was coming off a mediocre year at Daytona, and had questions about his weight and his attitude(breaking his hand in a stupid argument with Ryu the previous year).
  18. I'm pretty sure everyone except Duke in the ACC is going to end up with the same conference record.
  19. 7 points looks pretty insurmountable for Michigan unless they can get a pick 6.
  20. First, the USA hosts Mexico to start.
  21. I swear that's like the 5th Florida player to be in serious legal trouble this year.
  22. Tulowitzki?? If you look at the defensive metrics like FRAR, Tulo in 2007 had one of the best seasons of all time defensively at SS. In fact, only ONCE (1985) did Ozzie Smith have a better year than Tulo's 2007 according to FRAR. I know it's the only way to make historical comparisons and such, but FRAR is really bad.
  23. I wonder if it's possible to cultivate something similar to a college athletics attitude towards it. People are still rabid about college sports even though the best players leave(sometimes before they needed to) to play at the best level.
  24. Out of curiosity, is this consistent with his career ratings? I remember being told that Greene was the best defensive SS in baseball last offseason. Is there a reason beyond baseball for his dropoff across the board last season? By PMR, Greene was 106.02 for 4th out of 37 SS in 2006, 99.28 for 21st of 39 in 2007(Theriot was 20th at 99.32), and 94.64 for 35th of 39 in 2008(Theriot was 24th at 100.17).
  25. I think that's what's really being lost here. Any discussion of Mizzou is shameful. It's technically hate week right now, I don't want to have to go to the football thread and ask you whether you're going to make the Insight Bowl or not.
