  1. Charlie Weis also voted ND #4, ahead of Ohio State, even though Ohio State only lost to two of the top three teams in the country, and ND lost at home to a team that wasn't bowl eligible. And, Ohio State beat that same team at home. Conspiracy! So it means nothing to you that an entire conference realized after the VT loss that ND was likely to slip into an automatic slot in the BCS and decided to ban together to try to stop it? If Weis and 10 of his coaching cronies had gotten together and voted ND 4th and Oregon 10th (Weis had Oregon 6th BTW), then you might have an argument. So, you're saying that these Pac-10 coaches were voting ND the same as everyone else, and decided based on the VT loss that they were all going to change their vote to try and keep them out of the BCS? Knowing that only 5 Pac-10 coaches vote out of 62 vote, and that one of those coaches voted ND at #5, higher than their current position?
  2. Yes, I'm sure that people are coming to these conclusions entirely based off of video games and fantasy sports. If you don't acknowledge that part of that is the problem, then you aren't paying attention. Some of you are just not old enough to remember what sports were like before video games and fantasy sports. That's not a knock, it's just the way it is. I'm only in my thirties, but things just weren't scrutinized 15-20 years ago to the level they are today. Of course there was second-guessing, but the internet, video games, fantasy sports, talk sports radio and constant access through television have made everyone an expert. Every coach or GM is an idiot today and every high school/college kid, or joe schmoe could do much better. It doesn't matter if they never played the game or have never had to deal with any of these people. And again, you assume that this conclusion is based off of fantasy sports and video games. It's a ridiculous conclusion.
  3. Pierre will make more than Patterson. Hmmm, I stand corrected. Do you know the figures? ALso, when is PAtterson up for arb? Both are up for arbitration. Pierre made 3.5 million last year, and Patterson made 2.8 million. Both were terrible last year, and Patterson was worse, so barring some miracle, Pierre will get more.

  5. Because that would be a good decision. How far would you go to get Pierre? Who's the highest prospect you'd be willing to give up for him, out of curiousity? Not at all. Hey thanks for playing, makes a lot of sense. I don't want Pierre, that's what I meant.
  6. You really must think it's like it is in the video games. As for the bold part - I don't even know what that means. If that's an attack on my job - then you really are ignorant. My job's pretty nice - not that you'd even know. I'd have a hard time believing you've reached college yet - other than you're reference to an obscure baseball name from the 70's/80's in your moniker. Take it easy. I'm pretty sure he just left the k off of thank you on accidentally.

  8. Wow, a completely biased source writing something pro-ND and anti-other teams? Shocking! Perhaps it could be that those teams that played Oregon think that Oregon is a very good team and worthy of a ranking around #4? Everything doesn't have to be a conspiracy to thwart the great Fighting Irish, you know. There were also 16 other coaches from several conferences that placed ND below #6. It's the same thing with Texas. Something like 3 of the 8 first place votes they got were from Big 12 coaches, and TCU gave them another.
  9. I'm reserving judgment until Trannon gets back in the swing of things. Is Drew Naymick still starting on the interior? I like Trannon, but I don't know if he's good enough to keep up with White and Killingsworth. Naymick is a less talented Nick Smith, and that is really saying something. Suton's really been coming along. Naymick is starting, but Suton is superior at this point. Also, Gray is a great athlete that's developing as a rebounder. I think Trannon's a good enough rebounder and defensive player to slow up Killingsworth, once he gets back into basketball form. He'll probably foul out in 20 minutes doing it, but I think he can. EDIT: Tonight is a big test facing Dudley and Smith from BC. Should be a nice measuring stick to see how Suton and Gray are coming along as interior players.

  11. Quick scan of the minor league forum shows that BA went to one of Guzman's minor league outings, where he sat 91-93 and topped out at 95. That was on Oct. 21, and I'm too lazy to search for a more recent report.
  12. There's a difference between saying, "Hendry hasn't done a good job thus far" and "I can't wait to finish in 5th place". The former is an evaluation, and leaves the possibility for improvement. The latter is overly pessimistic, and adds nothing to discussion. Am I expecting Hendry to make this a dynamite club? Not particularly. Could he improve the team and make them better this offseason? Most certainly.
  13. That post got progressively worse as I read.
  14. Williams and Nolasco for Kearns? Is Mr. Lopez coming with him?
  15. If Macias gets an extension, in the words of Colbert, the Cubs are on notice. Well considering the Cubs, which are bears, have been number one on the threatdown for quite some time, I'm not surprised.
  16. Yet a very easy decision on who to root for while living in Ohio. Pass Interference, pfft.
  17. How is that SOS?
  18. Can you post a link to that Jon?
