  1. McGowin with another 7k/0bb in 5ip, too. He did give up a HR in this one, but I second the nomination of him going to Iowa to take Teheran's place.
  2. Apparently Masto has also fallen behind Bote.
  3. Getting out of MB would be a boost for his (or anyone's) ISO
  4. Christian with a homer, also.
  5. I'm hoping he gets a couple of ticks back on the fastball, too.
  6. Smyly has been pretty effective throughout his career when used as a SIRP
  7. Please look better this time, Cade.

  9. Don't think I can cheer for Vancouver there. Plus McDavid is fun to watch.
  10. You could probably talk me into a deal centered around Alcantara and Triantos, combined with a 35 prospect or two. But there's no way I'm giving up Caissie in that deal, too. You're approaching the cost SD paid for Juan Soto when he still had 3.5 years of control.
  11. We're all assuming the cost is prohibitive (I am, too). But I'm absolutely making an offer if I'm Jed. When it gets turned down, I'd be like "how about the same offer for Erceg?"
  12. lol - that's now 15 IL stints by May 15th
  13. I'd add Hunter Harvey and Erceg to that list. Of course, the Nationals have to start actually losing before Harvey will become available.
  14. both in my top 20 ranking!
  15. Well deserved. He's been around so long, it's easy to forget he only turned 22 a week ago.
  16. lol - you understand he's working on bigger moves, also, but that those take time as the other team has a say in when the trade is made, right? In the meantime, he's being opportunistic and looking for minor improvements when they're available.
  17. Also, I initially just saw that we were acquiring Miller from Seattle for Slaughter and I was wondering what sort of devil magic was happening.
  18. Looks like Miller's significantly changed his pitch usage this year. He's going almost exclusively with cutters and sliders and it's obviously been working so far.
  19. Depends on how many PA you use as a cutoff. Morel is the fastest of the regulars, but he's not the fastest Cub overall. Canario has him beat.
  20. I certainly wouldn't do a premium draft pick every year on goalies. You have to fill six times as many forward positions and three times as many defensemen as you do goalies. This isn't like offensive linemen where the shelf life is short and you have 8-9 spots to keep filled.
  21. I can't decide whether I want them to prioritize getting another scorer or if I want to lock down a #1 defenseman. The biggest complaint I've heard about Demidov is his skating, which may not fit the style the Hawks are trying to build. Disconnected thoughts there, but I'm going to be thrilled with whomever they take at #2.
  22. I see it's also up at Bleacher Nation: https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2024/05/05/the-cubs-and-marlins-could-be-working-on-a-deal-for-a-reliever/
