  1. He absolutely has the skill. He just lacks the consistency.
  2. I guess I don't care if he's starting or piggybacking, but I want him to get the innings.
  3. Nope. He needs the innings to work on things and build the arm.
  4. I can't trust any source that references "all three levels" of a farm system.
  5. I'm glad Bowman apparently got help on being a better human. But I'm pretty sure he still mediocre at being a GM.
  6. You know what isn't cherry picked? 79 wRC+, .676 OPS. Also, we're not judging him against other 15th round picks. By that metric, he's doing great. The context of the comparison was you saying that he's next in line (or however it was phrased) for 3B in the majors. In that context, he's not even close to ready.
  7. I think his ceiling is higher than that. He's consistently put up strong IsoP numbers since covid, takes his walks, hasn't struck out much in the minors, and is a positive defender at 3B. I know the bias against him because he's short, but he's no Madrigal out there.
  8. I want to do a Busch-style trade to get Eguy Rosario from SD. He's completely blocked, but ready for MLB. He's had mixed success in his cups of coffee, so I don't think he'd be very expensive. But I've liked him in the minors for years.
  9. I saw one like that. I don't remember if it was on the computer or the phone.
  10. It's been discussed on this page. 🤣
  11. Nice. He looked great in spring training this year.
  12. As a super-casual observer that knows nothing, it seemed like the team played a completely different style for the short period where they had a different manager. Am I way off base?
  13. Since 6/15, the Cubs bullpen has the 5th best ERA in baseball at 3.15. The bullpen woes have been over for a while now. But I agree with your broader point. I'm excited that the pen could be a real strength in the second half and going into 2025.
  14. If you go there, stay really near the park or the inner harbor area. I recommend not staying at the cheaper hotels 1/2 mile or so north.
  15. It might also be time to give up on Mervis.
  16. Cuas had a night last night: 2 HBP 1 BB 1 Hit on only three pitches! (the walk was intentional)
  17. lol - he threw out Nelson
