    You know it probably hasn’t even occurred to ol dense ass mike matheny that he was the problem. I took his ineptitude for granted and I regret it; I thought he was going to be manager for life.

    This cardinals pitcher is no hitting the dodgers and strutting all over them. They really are like a new team.

    Am I crazy for thinking Murphy should be the DH whenever possible? Schwarber is totally fine in LF imo.

    I will root for him to help us win the World Series and then go away. Fwiw I've seen him play a little bit recently and he seems healthy.

    If the new version of Hamels can perform, we can deal without Darvish. Absolutely need Bryant and Morrow back. Yeah, I've been mentally preparing for Yu to be out the whole year. If we get Morrow (and Smyley) back I'll feel great about the pen, and Bryant coming back healthy would be huge. I'm soo glad we landed the rejuvenated Cole. Hopefully Monty can get back soon too.

    The flip was perfect, it sounded gone off the bat but when I saw the flip I knew it was gone.

    Looks like Carl's having a run in with the fuzz. What a game, I almost went to bed when it went to 3-0 but managed to check one more time and it was right when we loaded the bases. Just an awesome moment.

    Matt Carpenter is absolutely on fire. I thought he was DONE at the beginning of the year, but this will probably be his best year ever.

    It's hilarious that Kato freaking Kaelin is the most online unhinged baseball fan I think I've ever seen. And for the Brewers of all teams (I never knew he was from WI until this year). Strange world we live in.

    I bet they went back because of the rickets connection. At least the sister seems ok by rich persons standards.

    I'm rooting for Q to have great success. He gets dogged for a trade he didn't make, against guys who haven't even played in the bigs yet. Forget the horsefeathering stupid white sox. I am sure Q is happy to be gone from that miserable organization. They never gave him any run support there anyway.

    I get crazy fired up during games (and pay close attention to the VBs because they're closest) but am usually able to shake off a bad loss quickly. This year has also felt a bit strange in that what I thought was going to be our biggest weapon (starting pitching) has disappointed so we're always playing catch-up. The reason it is easier to shake things off is because the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. It's weird, I might even be more fired up during games than previously but am able to move on, win or lose, more easily. We got the mother of sports championships, full stop. It's still ok to watch out for the VBs.

    JOE MADDON SAID SOME STRAIGHT NONSENSE ABOUT A PLAYER HE SHOULD REALLY HAVE A MUCH BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF BECAUSE IT'S KINDA LIKE HIS JOB OR SOMETHING WHAT NO WAY GET OUT OF TOWN I DON'T BELIEVE IT Haha yeah. Maybe it's Joe's way of saying, "here's a hitter your should be trying to emulate, Javy." Shoot for the moon.

    Manny Ramirez had a 14% career walk rate. Yeah, Manny isn't the best comp but Joe uses it and was just being lazy. I was always worried about his bust potential as a hitter but he's really become a force.
