  1. Great coaching Pinkel you tool.
  2. Time to fire up the Chase Connection. With that 5'10 DB or whatever on Coffman, I'd throw to him 2 or 3 times a series. I take back the cheapshot comment, btw...looking at it again it was clean and the injury didnt even come on that play.
  3. Smith is down.... After what looks like a cheapshot...Smith has taken a lot of those this season.
  4. On behalf of myself, Mizzou, and CPatt, we feel your pain.
  5. It could be a lot worse. I figured after they scored 3 TDs on their first 3 possessions the halftime score would be at least 49-7. If we can mount a drive to open the second half we could be in good shape. IF SOMEONE WOULD COVER RICE I'D BE HAPPY THX
  6. I really wanna win this game for the sole reason that we'd be undefeated in division play.
  7. That's my feeling. Maybe you do some max protect with Grossman early in the game, but pull him by the 2nd quarter. I don't think he looked rusty against ATL or GB. I think 2 weeks of healthy practice would be enough to have him ready for the first playoff game. Ideally you could get another full healthy game out of him before then, but all things considered, rest might not be bad. If he was anything short of 100% on the ankle before, even 95%, the time could help. And with Orton's confidence shot, it might help to let him go back and air it out for blips and giggles. Put in 2 WR 2 TE sets, and have him throw 10 passes to the TE and 15 to the WR. Put in the shutgun here and there. Have him loose and ready in case Grossman does go down in 2 weeks. And if Orton is crap, go to Blake. See when you put it like that I semi-agree, but I don't know how I feel about playing Orton at all. If Orton goes down this week, and if Rex gets hurt in the playoffs, we're stuck with Jeff Blake. I say give Grossman a quarter of PT, then go with Blake the rest of the game, but that's just me.
  8. BTW, for those looking for a TE, here's a scouting report on Marcedes Lewis Height: 6-6 Weight: 256 4.75 40-time Strengths: Has excellent size with long arms and the frame to easily add more weight...A superb athlete with good quickness and leaping ability...Has outstanding hands and can adjust to the poorly thrown ball...Gives great effort as a blocker and does a better job there than he is given credit for...Has solid speed and can get down the middle and stretch the seam...Very productive and was the top pass catching threat on his team...Still developing and has a lot of upside. Weaknesses: May not have elite timed speed...Could stand to add some weight and looks frail on the field due to his lanky build...Lacks explosiveness and may have trouble separating at the next level...Needs to hit the weights and get stronger...Still relatively raw as he devoted a lot of attention to basketball in high school...Needs to refine his technique and master the nuances of the position. Notes: Was a part of the famed 2002 Long Beach Poly high school class that also included Winston Justice (USC), Darnell Bing (USC), Hershel Dennis (USC), and Manuel Wright (Miami Dolphins)...Is like a wide receiver trapped in a tight ends body...Not yet a finished product but could be the type of weapon in the passing game that pro teams are falling all over themselves to add these days. If we can get him and get him to put on 10+ pounds, he could be huge at the TE position. I like to read that he is a very good blocker too. I've quickly fallen in love with this guy.
  9. I agree. I thought last year that they should've traded down and taken Heath Miller. As for the next season free agent TEs, there isn't much worth mentioning. Cam Cleeland Aaron Shea Christian Fauria Here is the complete list: http://www.theredzone.org/2006/freeagents/showposition.asp?Position=TE NFLdraftcountdown.com has the Bears taking TE Marcedes Lewis. "Lewis is a great athlete who is like a wide receiver in a tight ends body with the size and speed to stretch the field and open things up for others. There is an outside chance they could bring in some youth along the offensive line as well but at the end of the day this team needs guys who can help move the chains and put points on the board so Lewis would be a great addition for them this late in round one." I'd love to trade up and get Vernon, but that doesn't really seem probable at this point.
  10. I think Ohio State could easily finish third in the conference, but 5th or 6th is probably more realistic.
  11. No way dude, Lee is a gold glove winner. Even if his offense declines, he's still got the D that we need to be a World Series contender.
  12. They'll be competitive, and could play the upset role come September, but they won't finish higher than 3rd. However, I could see them going .500 with no problem, and that's a step in the right direction.
  13. If this trade does end up going down, what do you guys think it would take to get a Clement or a Zito to fill Prior's role?
  14. Possibly a blessing in disguise. Simpson can hit and stuff the run, but he's exposed in the passing game. I wonder who they'll put there in his stead, maybe Terrell. Only thing that the team will miss with Simpson is his emotional leadership on the field. The man can get an entire defense fired up. That being said, I think William Moore was named the starter this week.
  15. He has no choice but to remain with the Cubs for three (or maybe it was two) more years. MLB rules. He can't leave for free agency until his arby years are over. I think it is fairly pointless to speculate as to what Prior will want to do three years from now. Oh okay, I forgot about arbitration, I just remembered that in 01 he signed a 5-year deal, my fault.
  16. Just a though me and my dad had...and believe me I'm against this trade 100%, but do you guys really think that Prior is gonna wanna come back after this season, especially now with all the talk of Hendry trying to deal him now? Maybe it would be smart to try and open talks up with the rest of the league and see what else we could get, because if I were Prior, and all of these talks were about moving me when I'm a huge favorite with the fans, I wouldn't wanna come back after my contract ran out.
  17. First half, imo. Play Grossman a half tops and go to Blake for the rest of the game. Get Peterson 90% of the reps (unless Benson is back.)
  18. I'd take him over Jacque. Seriously.
  19. Thank you Nathan... Hold on to the ball now please.
  20. How do you line up offsides if you are the receiving team?! If they mess this up...
  21. You can't hear those Bears fans going crazy? I don't expect to. This isn't Soldier Field. That's weird, when it was picked tons of Bears fans got up on their feet.
