  2. I just don't see how signing Estes upgrades anything. Estes will be 33 by spring training. He's practically a rookie on this team.
  3. Um...D-Backs? He's only a year behind. Give him a break. Haha....oh...umm...hmm. I really can not defend myself here. hahaha its all good I hope you're right about Jones. I have a hard time disliking players who give it their all and show their love for the game, regardless of how bad they are. If we could still work out a deal for Wilkerson that'd be great, but I think Hendry is set on this starting outfield unfortunately.
  4. I agree, Blue Jays fans have to be thrilled with their activity this offseason.
  5. When you say too, I have to ask where it is that you think we have downgraded so far? Unless you are counting what might have been if Nomar had ever been healthy in a Cubs uni. I was thinking Nomar, especially if Neifi gets a lot of PT at SS this year over Cedeno, and also Jones is a downgrade to Burnitz, ever so slightly. Mostly based on Jones' contract and the fact that Burnitz loved playing here and always gave 100%, I fear Jones won't do the same.
  6. No need to downgrade at 2nd base too. Hudson is good, but Walker is as solid as it gets offensively. I refuse to believe that Hendry actually is trying to move this guy.
  7. Um...D-Backs? Great trade for both side. D-Backs fill a few holes, and if healthy the Jays get a very solid third baseman
  8. Absolutely not. TJ had a pretty darn good year, but it really pales a bit compared to Alexander, Barber, and Dunn. I'm a bit confused as to why you compared him to Dunn. The only place Warrick did not do better was in TD totals. The only reason for that is they typically bring in Duckett in the red zone (justification for keeping him on the roster, I guess) plus Vick runs a lot of bootlegs inside the 5. I just compared him to Dunn because Alexander and Barber obviously deserve to be there. Not that Dunn doesn't, but thats the only person TJ could replace. Dunn did have a huge year though, and I'm not trying to take anything away from him or his season, I'm just biased, haha.
  9. wow. congrats to those guys. Kruetz shouldn't be listed and Wale should be. Anyone else feel T. Jones got screwed? I thought he was definitely gonna sneak in as the third RB. Thomas Jones: 277 car, 1168 yards, 8 tds, 142 rec. yards, 2 fumbles lost Warrick Dunn: 259 car, 1328 yards, 3 tds, 205 rec. yards, 1 rec td, 1 fumbles lost I heard somewhere that Thomas Jones has accomodated for 37% of the Bears offense this year. That's insane.
  10. Boxing is not a sport because the outcome is determined by a judge? Okay then. I dont consider it a sport. If I get in a fist-fight with someone, am I playing a sport? No, I'm fighting. Boxing is fighting.
  11. I say any sport that the outcome is determined by a set scoring system is a sport. Any sport that uses judges (figure skating, gymnastics, cheerleading), not a sport. Now that doesn't say those "non-sports" are any easier than actual sports, because I have friends who do all of those things, and they work just as hard as football, baseball, or basketball players.
  12. 330 Yards Total Offense??? You better believe it.
  13. Bears 17 Falcons 10 Orton 200 yards, 1 td TJ 130 yards 1 td Vick: 2 int, 1 fl I can't wait for this game.
  14. So. The Cubs outfield next year WILL be Murton-Pierre-Jones then? Awesome.
  15. Clemens. That one year from Clemens will be better than any 1 year from Burnett. And you aren't tied down like you are with Burnett if anything should happen to him injury-wise.
  16. I think with the Steelers weak offensive line, and the beat up Roethlisberger, if we get to Big Burt early, they'll be in for a rough game. That said, I think it'd be stupid not to send at least 5 guys every play to try and get Roethlisberger early. If he starts beating us by throwing on the run or we just can't get to him and it opens up the middle of the field, start only rushing 3-4. I think Orton goes for 130 1 td 1 int... TJ goes for 130 1 td Vasher gets another pick Bears 17 Steelers 13
  17. What makes you think the Orioles would take a tool-less 5 tool player and the best pitching prospect we have for one of the top SS in the game? I think Cedeno is a necessity for Baltimore if a deal like this happens.
  18. If we can get Bradley out of this, and SOMEHOW (I realize it probably won't happen) retain Walker...I will be content with this offense. C Barrett 1B Lee 2B Walker SS Cedeno 3B Ramirez LF Murton CF Pierre RF Bradley
  19. They were Chicago Stags (1946-1950) throwbacks. The NBA has something called the "Hardwood Classics" program, so that's why they wore them. Of course, they looked especially bad considering Dallas didn't wear throwbacks. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/13/Chis1.gif Gotcha, that makes sense, and I thought thats why they were wearing them, but then I saw a picture of the Mavs from the game and they were wearing the whites...it was weird.
  20. I'm a Mavs fan...but I was positive blue was not a color that the Bulls wear?
  21. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5133276 Has his first good year in about 7 years and he pulls in $3.05 million.
  22. Dodgers have so many holes to fill, I don't see them taking on an even bigger contract in Abreu. Isn't that why they wanna move Lowe anyways?
  23. If Hendry gets Lowe and Milton, I will praise the heavens like that guy in the blue inwiggy's avatar.
  24. Brett Favre is to the Bears what Mike Schmidt was to the Cubs. He'll always kill you. As much as I'd love to have the #1 pick and see Reggie Bush in green and gold next year, I want to take the wind out of the Bears sails as well. I always am reminded of the fact that when you guys went 13-3 a few years ago, two of those losses were against the Packers. I wouldn't say always. He didn't kill us last year when we won in Lambeau. I just think Favre's days of domination are over. I think the front four will just dominate the Packers o-line and Favre will be out of the pocket quite often. But hey, it's a great rivalry, here's to a good game!
