Albert is lauded as by far the best defensive first baseman by those who keep track of such things. I think you can make a strong case for him being the best, but "by far"? I don't buy that. IMO, he's marginally if any better than Lee, and no better than Helton. But I really haven't seen a defensive metric that has me convinced at all that it can accurately quantify defensive ability, so it's all opinion and conjecture IMO.
