  1. This reminds me a lot of the "I'm in it for the long haul" speech that Self gave while at Illinois. Hours before he was driving the family to Lawerence. Coaches do this crap all the time. It's simply an attempt not to burn bridges until the ink is dry on their new contract, and never to be trusted.
  2. Texas is going to get raped by Alabama. I predict it will be the least compelling of the BCS bowls.
  3. This. It's such a copout. Give these teams a chance to take out a BCS school, which they probably would have. Maybe the powers that be a afraid if these smaller schools keep having good showings against the big boys, they'll have to consider giving them a title shot at some point. Weak.
  4. You should.
  5. Sulley disagrees. No, it's not sulley's teams that have the bad luck, it's sulley himself. The affect on his favorite teams is simply a function of that.
  6. Karmic shift.
  7. Crazy business.
  8. HOLY CRAP WITH THE TIMEOUTS
  9. Entirely.
  10. I saw the review on a Fox game break and it looked pretty obvious to me. Nah, it was borderline. His forearm was on the ground. It could have gone either way, easily. It shouldn't have been overturned. It was not 100% conclusive evidence that Sellers didn't have his forearm down first. I agree. It wasn't conclusive.
  11. It'd figure. I'd have tried to get closer.

  13. That's two borderline reviews that have gone the Saints' way.
  14. The only thing that could make this crazier would be a pick 6 here
  15. what an entertaining game
  16. Oh my, INT
  17. Lots of time left
  18. wheeeee
  19. Yeah, I liked that one.
  20. Uh, because there wouldn't be an incongruous monstrosity mounted out in the bleachers?
  21. I don't know, I've seen the ball just taken from Richardson and Paul more than a few times. Too many times. The passing has been worse, but overall ball protection has been an obvious problem. If that doesn't get shored up, we'll be on the wrong side of some bad scores against the better B10 teams. The aggressive penetration is indeed a welcome change, though. And once the team gels, I think they'll score a lot of points. We're also missing a defensive stopper, a la Sergio/Chester. technically it was dmac that had all of the turnovers tonight. Tonight, yeah. And he's the best ballhandler on the team, not a great ballhandler in general. This team just turns the ball over a whole lot. At least compared to what we're used to.

  23. Say what you will, but the Illini can't handle the ball and allow too many open shots. they can handle the ball they're just careless passers. Outside of McCamey, they're turnover machines. The ball handling and passing is sloppy. And the defense is way too loose. There's a big continuity problem with the team, which I suppose should be expected with so many new young players. I expect us to get a lot better over the course of the season, but these close games with mediocre teams are a result more of the Illini deficiencies than the other team just being hot/lucky.

  25. Someone other than McCamey has to show the ability to handle the ball.
