  1. The Cubs just won their 8th straight road contest for the first time since 1945, and are riding a nice winning streak into the weekend, where they will take on the hated Fish in their ballpark. This is clearly not last year's Chicago Cubs. It's not our father's Cubs, either. This Cubs team is balking at streaks over a century old. They'll be taking on a mere minor trend starting Friday, but are well equipped to deal the Marlins a few losses in that hole they like to call a ballpark. To start things off, the Cubs send a man who radiates Cubdom from head to toe: http://images.google.com/url?q=http://cubsfan.files.wordpress.com/2007/02/zambrano.jpg&usg=AFQjCNHaHIUqvN1DUmST4eDw3EaOn9Nsnw Z's 3.22/140/1.245 is very solid, and he's looking to bounce back after his last outing. Being the dynamic guy that he is, this shouldn't be a problem. He'll go up against Josh Johnson: http://msn.foxsports.com/fe/img/MLB/Headshots/140x170/7669.jpg 3.19/130/1.418 Josh has pitched well for the Fish, but his sample size is small this year because he was on the DL until recently. Too bad he won't be able to face other, less capable offenses as he does in every other start he makes. As with Jorge Campillo the Cubs balk at good pitching. This should be especially true since we've seen Johnson recently. It's time to break another trend, beat up on these guys for a little while, and enjoy some Florida Sun in the process. ROLLIN' CUBBIE BLUE
  2. He's getting ready it can't be long.
  3. Thinking the same thing a horse thinks when a little kitten comes running at it, probably. "You're really this stupid?"
  4. Yes. They should paint it black.
  5. He had better not be on the playoff roster, even. Anyone in the minors we can call up to replace him if he gets DFA'ed? Hart. Piggy. Anyone with two arms. As long as those guys have the necessary arm, I'd rather see them go Jim Abbott than see Howry on the roster. Unless Piggy's improved in the last 60 days or so, I don't want to see him up here.
  6. Marmol better have that good control today
  7. It's not... http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/280814115_Cubs_Braves_103016500_lbig.png Oh it is. With Bob still out on that mound? You can bet it is.
  8. There are small animals around here that will die if we blow this lead.
  9. CAN WE PLEASE GET SOMEONE IN WHO CAN PITCH?!?
  10. He throws one good slider all year, then collapses after it. I can't believe Bob is on this ballclub. I can't believe this is still a ballgame.
  11. What the hell? That was a slider. From Bob. And not a bad one.
  12. then you're on 700 not 720 I'm on 720, and it slowly fades in. I just adjusted it now, and I can hear Pat and Ron, but in about a few minutes, I'm going to hear Marty again until his voice overtakes Pat's and I'll have to fidget with the tuner knob again. Sometimes frequencies will bleed when they are relatively close together, depending a various things. Happens more at night because there's alot more atmospheric bounce after the sun goes down. I was under the impression that there was less atmospheric bounce at night. I can certainly hear AM stations further from the source at night. Nah, it's better at night. http://www.howstuffworks.com/question1.htm

Science? In MY game thread? She blinded me with Science.

  15. My God when this team starts scoring runs it's beautiful. WE SCORED 11 AGAIN TONIGHT! Can anyone even believe how prolific this offense is? I mean seriously, take a step back and look at the big picture. This is ridiculously awesome.
  16. Ward even gets an RBI. OK ladies & gentlemen, here comes Soriano, the favorite target of classless loser teams everywhere.
  17. Yeah, the difference is they throw at an all-star in Soriano, then we plunk a punk like Escobar. Give me a break. You'll know when we're making a statement when we take Chipper's head off. Now have a seat.
  18. If anyone gets hit, send Ward and only Ward out to fight.
  19. Pull everyone out of the game with any value. Oh wait, that's pretty much our entire lineup this year damn.
  20. I don't see how that's deliberate. Ted's control has been awful tonight.
  21. Well, there's a good strikeout. How about getting out of it with 2 outs unlike last time, Teddy?
  22. We need to beat this Florida team once & for all. Especially since there's an actual chance the Brewers won't sweep this weekend.
  23. I got this nasty feeling Ted's getting ready to give up a few more runs.
