  1. Saying Gallardo is better than Sheets, if both pitchers are healthy, is absurd at this point. Id like to see Gallardo make 25-30 starts in a full season before hes labled as better than Sheets. I still like Gallardo, but I agree. There's still some good talent on the Brewers to be excited about. If I'm a Crew fan, looking at where they were a few years back, I can see still being more proud of my team than I was during the really lean years. I'd be pretty wary of that staff, that's all.
  2. Which is probably 80% of the Cub fan base :P
  3. I think it would be more accurate to say that Angelo has given additional attention to the offense recently, with picks such as Forte, Williams, and Olsen.
  4. The one nice thing about those bleacher seats in LF are the home run balls during batting practice. During the game there are better places to be. Also -- there are foul-pole obstructed seats in that section. And they really suck, to the point where people who get them try to squeeze into other areas, generally making life miserable for everyone else.
  5. Interesting. I'll be at that game. Sunday too.
  6. I heard that this morning on The Score and thought it was the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. What's Wise's OBP compared to Bradley's? Beyond that, it's just dumb to even try to compare the two players. It's a decent attempt to deflect criticism from their own guy. I guess a White Sox fan will listen to that and go "take that Cub fans!" So, mission accomplished.

  8. http://icanhascheezburger.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/128343688002656250hallelujahpra.jpg Soto will be missed in the Milwaukee series, but its a good thing we'll be putting 3 ace caliber pitchers against 2 who would be lucky to crack most teams 5 spot. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa250/soulschizm/Owlfunny6.jpg
  9. Was it ever hard? Thats what she said... Seriously though, it was harder to get Crew single game tix to the Cubs games than it was for me to get tix to Wrigley this year. Actually, by the time single gamers went on sale, there was pretty much only standing room left. I got my tix during the 9-game pack sale.
  10. We only have one first day pick now. :D RB is not very high on my list of needs, all things considered. We need a WR somewhere -- FA or draft -- and then D, D, D.
  11. If they stay irrelevant, it will be that much easier to get Cub tix at Miller Park =D>
  12. Yeah, you'd have to go all the way back to 2007 to find them performing worse than expected, and didn't compete. Course, they didn't really compete last year either, but it's unlikely you'll admit that. Come on. Compared to expectations? The Cards were a surprise for most of the year last year. Sure they faded late, but they were supposed to fade early. I think LaRussa's done a nice job with what he's had to work with.
  13. Yes. They're 9 games worse per year since we got rid of Dusty. The teams they're fielding right now aren't close to what they were back then though.
  14. There's something really cool about Rose crashing the lane, then whipping a fastball all the way across the court. 6ers never even thought about the ball going that far back out.
  15. Oh, it was so inviting, but I'll resist.
  16. The fact that they decided to do this for Chicago first, and not Boston or New York.........................confims a few suspicions.
  17. There's always a good chance Britt won't be there at 49. Everyone says all these receivers are going to be gone. Don't WRs traditionally stick around on the boards a bit, especially after the first couple top guys go? Last year, not a single receiver was taken in the first round. In 2007, there were 5 receivers taken in the first round. Then there was 1 taken in the first round in 2006 and then 6 WRs taken in the first round in 2005. This year, however, teams seem to feel that this crop of receivers are better and more worthy first-round status. There's not another position that has the potential to instantly score on offense quite like receiver, though - besides QB, obviously. That's why GMs and coaches love receivers - they can make big plays at a higher rate than other positions. I really didn't think of this WR class as top-heavy though. More than it has quite a few acceptable prospects that are just below that top level. I was hoping (obviously, for selfish reasons) that this meant several would drop. I mean I can certainly see Crabtree & Maclin getting snapped up quickly. Are all these other guys -- 5, 6 prospects down the line -- so good that they will all warrant being taken above 49? I'm having a hard believing that. We'll see if I'm just being stupid :)

Don't WRs traditionally stick around on the boards a bit, especially after the first couple top guys go? I mean, a wideout is going to touch the ball probably 5-8 times a game. Teams know that.
  19. What if Soto is DLd? The Sun will be a little less bright. The day will be a little less fun. Life will be that little bit more mundane. I will be a sad puppy. :(
  20. I watched the game and was into it last night but this is still what I'm most excited about. Cubs > Bears Root canal > Bears I agree, but only on days like the Atlanta game last year.
  21. Wonder how antsy you are going to get sitting for 10 hours before the Bears first pick. Ha..yeah...I was gonna say..not having a first round pick has me less than antsy. I can shut it out until the afternoon :) I just want to get past the speculation. I'm ready to know what we're actually going to be working with here (for the most part).
  22. We could still have Soto catch. Just have Cutler standing next to him to make the throws to 2nd. Problem solved.
  23. If he has to take a week off, I'd rather it be now than late in the season. Just get healthy Geo.
