  1. Yeah, I was happy to see that at least SAS took the time to base his comments on what Bear fans have been through in the past.......forever number of years.
  2. The Sports Reporters guys, to a man, thought this was a trade the Bears needed to make and couldn't understand anyone even suggesting otherwise. Especially Steven A. Smith.
  3. About Harden being hurt or the Cubs having enough to win the NL Central without Harden? Winning the Central without Harden. Actually, winning anything before the first pitch is even thrown.
  4. Saved, uploaded to photobucket, and posted to my internal work website :)
  5. That's a pretty bold, extreme statement to make before opening pitch in April.
  6. It really isn't. Which is why they've been slowly replacing it over time.
  7. Underachieved? How many games would the Brewers have won without CC pitching every 3rd day in September?
  8. Gaudin forced their hand, he simply wasn't good enough.
  9. Agreed, I prefer to use FA in limited cases and draft well.
  10. Hazel Mae. That is all. http://soxblog.mlblogs.com/hazel%20mae.jpg This is a great, great network.
  11. Well yeah, but Lovie did effectively fire Babich. He's back doing what he was actually decent at. Marinelli is well-known as a great D-Line coach. No problems there. I agree with some other posters. When you are consistently going 3-and-out, it puts much more pressure on the defense. Though I do agree with your overall point -- the Bears D has been declining. It's still far better than a D like Denver's, where Cutler spent his first 3 years. If he can put a few more points on the board it will go a long way towards keeping the D fresh and snappy. The Bears are putting some eggs in the coaching basket when it comes to D. It's a valid strategy if you think you've got talent that isn't being utilized. We'll see how that turns out. I still think they need pass rush, and that will be tough to find.
  12. Who does Z want to pay for it? I'm guessing.....anyone but him. ;)
  13. I would call it.......mild concern. I can't really say much until the games count, because even in the last ST start who knows what is really going on out there? Still though, I worry about Z and Harden the most. Z's shoulder was really becoming a problem at the end of last year, requiring extra rest. Harden's shoulder is always an issue. What if both those guys go down at the same time? Then we're talking Demp/Lilly as the 1/2. That's not a very good rotation. Lilly -- he's never going to be an ace. He'll probably start out slow again, requiring several starts to tweak himself into acceptble form. Demp, I dunno.......people are saying he'll suffer a little regression-to-the-mean syndrome. If so, that eats further into our overall rotational effectiveness. Z & Harden -- I still believe both will be excellent when healthy. But how healthy will they be, especially Harden? I think there are legitimate questions here. Not full-blown worry yet, but questions.
  14. Cutler looked like a Bear yesterday. We're the Grabowski's, remember? We don't look good for the cameras. The bigger problem is, neckbeard just doesn't look like a Bronco.
  15. Yeah, that's the kind of receiver I'd like too. We can stretch vertically with Hester and attack the seams with Clark and Olsen. I think we need that guy who can take over in the red zone and pick up big chunks of intermediate yardage so there's effective players at all levels of the defense. Britt would be amazing. What about Robiskie? I'm pretty sure he will be around. I wonder if Murphy will be there in the 3rd round...
  16. I kind of want a guy who can bust through the bump n' run more, get those intermediate routes without being knocked off his path. I'm not sure Holt was ever that guy. I think he pans out to be mostly a slot guy now. I certainly can't see him blowing by CBs on fly routes.
  17. I hate attitudes like that. I think the truth is Holt doesn't want to play in the cold, and he doesn't want to play on grass. Both will tend to slow him down and make him look older. I'll bet he's willing to take a significantly less attractive situation to play inside, on turf. We'll see if it falls that way. He seems legitimately interested in Tennessee, though. He visited here, making me think he's considering us. And the Titans play outdoors on natural grass. Though you may be onto something about him not wanting to play in the bitter cold. He's visited Jacksonville and Tennessee so far. It could just be the cold. Some of these guys really, really do not like it. Well....I mean nobody likes it, but you get what I'm saying.
  18. Talk about possibly the best off season a team has had in a long time. This would be it if they were to pick up Plax. If he's not going to jail, the need is certainly there and there aren't any other guys on the team who are a problem.. I see no reason not to do it. Rotoworld says he likely won't be in the league for the '09 season. Even if he doesn't go to jail, surely Goodell has the 8 game suspension already typed up, waiting to slap it down. If it's jail time, then bye-bye '09 entirely.

I'll bet he's willing to take a significantly less attractive situation to play inside, on turf. We'll see if it falls that way. Holt is a Hall of Famer, but his best days are way behind him. While I dig Lovie: no more Rams retreads please. Holt should just go straight to TV. I've been impressed with his Draft Day analysis and work. He can join Marshall Faulk on the NFL Channel. Yeah, I'm a little wary of bringing over every Rams castoff, too. I think Pace is enough. Arch was a disaster (of course, via the Redskins rather than direct).

  21. He was for acquiring Cutler, though I don't know if at this price. Not really for the Pace deal though. Maybe he pissed off a Jets fan who was hoping for Cutler :)
  22. I still have a magazine from early-season '06. The cover: "On the Hot List: Rex Grossman" Remember the Pro-Bowl voting commercial with Rex and Moose? That was pretty awesome. Hehe, yeah. I remember that. Oh man, I just realized how incredibly insane training camp is going to be this year. Wow. I'm definitely going to go, along with probably the rest of Chicago.

  24. I guess I'm nitpicking then. When you say this: It says to me that you aren't pleased with it.
  25. Cutler's numbers last year, in terms of QB rating, #of yards, attempts, completions.... All better than any other QB in the entire history of the Chicago Bears. Excuse me for being excited.
