  1. The current list: Santo 10 Sandberg 23 Banks 14 Williams 26 Robinson 42 (retired league-wide) Woody doesn't fit on that list. Maddux didn't either. Gracie, I could see except that the feeling between the Cubs and Grace is very cold and probably won't warm up. Gracie's a bit of a tweener too. A good Cub, but not really a league-wide great. I could see in 10 years, Sosa -- provided he is never proven to have used steroids, makes the hall of fame, and the relationship with the organization is repaired. It could happen. Current Cubs? Zambrano, as was mentioned. If Rammy puts in another 5, 6 solid years? Perhaps. I don't see any others. Certainly not Lee. Soriano, if he puts in a solid 7, 8 years with the organization and they win the World Series??? It's a stretch......maybe.
  2. 8 weeks would bring us to mid-June. Then there would presumably be a couple weeks in the minors warming back up, which means July. Could be post All Star break before he's back in the majors then.
  3. The Celts are 14-6 in their last 20 games without KG, but they are 12-2 in their last 14 games without him. They have gotten confortable without him, and are playing well lately without him. Lets also not forget that Salmons is hurt and hasnt been playing well of late. The Bulls not having a 100% healthy Salmons is huge for the Bulls. He won't be getting any better? That will be a large factor then. I dont see how hes going to get all that better between last night and Sat. Hes been dealing with it for awhile now, and playing thru it(take note Deng), but he hasnt been the same player at all. So that's why we sucked last night and got beat by a bottom feeder (I didn't see the game). That really does suck, as Salmons was a big part of our turnaround as a team.

  5. True, and if they can get a couple wins it will prolong the experience he's getting, too.
  6. It doesn't matter. i don't know, boston was pretty terrible before he came to town. It certainly helps the Bulls chances, especially since we wouldn't match up at all against KG.
  7. Of course that's what they are thinking. The media in Chicago jumps to conclusions all on their own, then pressures the Bears to fit those conclusions. They do it all the time. It would be no surprise if they did it with Bennett, despite having no actual information if he can play or not. Everyone's an expert. Except.......they aren't.
  8. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jWcqHir4-tVPQ4cME1_HH0U34MKAD97JJ9J04 Article. Rivers: "There's no way" Garnett could play right now.
  9. that miracle just happened. Holy crap, I just saw that. Wow. We might have a fighting chance without KG in the middle.
  10. In about a week and a half, we'll be talking offseason. It was a nice little run by the Bulls at the end of the year, but ultimately we aren't where we need to be yet. This upcoming series with the Celtics will almost certainly illustrate that, in crystal clear fashion. I suppose you can always hope for a miracle.
  11. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-16-haugh-bears-chicago-apr16,0,6550448.column I am also not willing to give up on Bennett yet. I just don't have enough information to make a judgement either way.
  12. Maybe, but it's not like Bradley has been some major contributer so far, and we've been ok. Yeah, I find it likely that won't continue though.
  13. You win some, you lose some. I just didn't want it to be freaking Marquis, that's all #-o
  14. Okay, I've seen this sentiment in a couple places, I don't get it. The 2008 Bears went into the season with Orton and Grossman competing for a job, two QB's universally laughed at by everybody. They were coming off a sub .500 season, and they played 5 primetime games. What is the big deal about them playing 5 this year? In the case of Mr. Banks, I think it's worth noting that he covered the Vikings & Bucs for many years (the Bucs when they were still a division rival of the Bears). Sounds like a bit of his past prejudices might be coloring his opinion on this one. The Bears have been given every chance to make the national TV lineups, and it has never had much to do with the QB situation. The fact is, a bigger market has a better chance to bring in ratings. I'm sure the NFL likes the potential of a good/great QB in a city like Chicago, but to my mind there's no evidence that it is causing any changes in how the Bears are being treated by the league.
  15. It seems if a RHP hits his slider spots against us, it doesn't matter if it's Derek Lowe, Jason Marquis, or Bozo the Clown. We ain't scorin'.
  16. I'm not tipping my cap to Marquis, man.
  17. Good job Miles. Now be sure not to be followed when you collect your salary from LaRussa at the designated drop point. FREAKING BUM!
  18. Cotts got out of it. Here's comes Marquis to rub it in our faces some more.
  19. Cedeno is garbage with an upside. Miles is just plain garbage. Upside? Yeah right. I thought the kid had potential but he's proven to be a miserable hitter. I hate Miles but I'm also glad Cedeno is gone. Considering his age, his tools, and his positive production (albeit in limited circumstances), he still has a ceiling. His likelihood of reaching that ceiling is fairly low, but that likelihood still exists. I guess I would just rather have had a decent utility infielder instead of Miles or Cedeno. Instead we got crap for tons of gold. And we have to watch it all year long. Miles taking ABs away from better players is going to be a sore spot on the North Side for a long, long time. This move sucked hard.
  20. Marquis hitting his spots and it is the 6th inning.
  21. Maybe not here it wasn't mentioned. But it's been discussed and fought over on nsbb many times.
  22. Unfortunately, so has Marquis :sorry:
  23. I don't even care if Miles is a better hitter than Cedeno, I still hate him and think he's awful on this club.
