  1. That last pic is my new sig -- on another site :)
  2. Great. I thought Lou was just resting Lee too. Hell we may as well get the Harden DL stint over with too. Who else hasn't been injured? How about Soriano? Time for him to get hurt as well
  3. Given Piniella's hatred for Fox and the existence of Hoffpauir I doubt they'd callup Fox. Gathright absolutely has to go. IF they decide later that they want a speedy guy to play CF once a month that can't hit at all they still have Sam Fuld at AAA. Did Piniella say something that indicates he hates Fox, or is that just speculation?
  4. Scales might not be an answer, but I don't see how Miles is either. The main problem I have with Miles is that we probably lose nothing with Scales instead of him, yet we're mailing Miles a bushel full of cash on a regular basis, and Scales gets next to nothing. We're bleeding money on Miles for no additional benefit, in all likelihood.
  5. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/huddleup/2009/05/report-freeagent-tight-end-gaines-set-to-visit-bears.html Why is Kellen Davis a question mark? I've heard nothing about that. Maybe the Bears just want another body to take some training camp reps.
  6. Sure, but they will still need to experience the actual games too. You can't totally substitute game experience with practice.
  7. Do you really think Favre is going to turn over a new leaf at this point? He is what he is. He's not going to suddenly get excited about offseason training, spend 24/7 in the weight room and hours studying playbooks. He's going to learn the cliff notes and try to wing it, just like he did with the Jets.
  8. Here's the obligatory ESPN article for a player who finally got his callup @ 31: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4140809 I don't know. I kind of like the story too. Heck, Scales was on WSCR this morning and I was feeling pretty good for the guy. He plays baseball @ AAA in the Summer, then teaches part time in the offseason. Finally gets a cup of coffee in the majors after 11 years. He said he hung around Wrigley for hours before and after the game, just took it all in. It's a cool story, something to smile about for a little bit. Even if he will be sent back down soon.
  9. He's got to be on pace for like 450 PA by now, no? Sure that's because he had to fill-in while Ramirez was out, but that's been the problem all along. They got the guy and he's going to play a lot, and he sucks. He's on pace for 472 PAs Pretty much what most of us suspected. One way or another, Miles will get his ABs, and that's a net negative.
  10. You could argue that, sure. But people tried saying that last year too. The Bears, with Cutler, are much better than they were last year. I'd give the edge to Minny, just because I anticipate a growing period with Cutler. Doesn't mean the Bears won't win it though.
  11. It's an ugly side of humanity, but people enjoy watching a crash n' burn moment. Not so much fun to be the centerpiece of one, of course.
  12. Rice seems like he would be even older and slower than the old & slow guys we already have.
  13. They looked great in the 1st... couldn't capitalize and looked like it deflated them a bit... they'll get em on Thursday. They only looked great the first 7-8 minutes of the first. The rest was [expletive]. I don't even want to talk about that game. I felt like we might see a letdown after the big road win, and everyone's talking about how the Hawks are getting to Luongo. Just felt like a typical Chicago sports team letdown coming, right when they should be at their strongest. Kind of like game 3 of the Bulls series, or that final game at home vs. Toronto where they just need to beat a non-playoff team at home where they have a huge advantage, and just get beat anyway. I'm sure Chicago isn't the only city that watches its teams pull a stinker when they have the advantages, but man it really sucks when it happens.
  14. First guess? Because your last film of any note was Love, Actually in 2003, and your last TV appearance worth mentioning was on Dancing with the Stars where you were quickly eliminated?
  15. I don't think that's the message the team is sending to Sean. And I think the team is smart enough to judge a pitcher's performance on its own merits, without falling back on the old myth: "the team lost so you must have stunk."
  16. It looks like they had the words to the song written down for her, too. She was looking down during the verses. Looking pretty good in that Cubbie gear and the blonde hair. I'm not sure I really even care what she sounded like.
  17. I honestly hope it happens. I still can't believe how he went from one of my all-time favorite athletes to one of my most despised in the matter of less than a year. I'd love nothing more than to play him twice a year and hopefully beat his ass in those games. That'd be pretty satisfying. I hope it happens, mostly because it will make those Vikings/Packers games total war. Especially the one @ Lambeau. I'm not sure I can even wrap my mind around Favre coming out of the tunnel @ Lambeau in a Vikings jersey. And I also don't mind it happening because I'm skeptical that Favre's arm is really that good with the torn bicep, and Favre always relied on having incredible arm strength. Without a primo arm, I'm not sure it's really Brett Favre anymore.
  18. I wish I could say something about Cardinals fans in response to that T-Shirt. But then I think about the cavalcade of Cub T-Shirt vendors outside Wrigley, and some of the designs on them. At that point I realize there's just idiots in both cities.
  19. He's made of glass, and he hasn't shown anything at all the past 2 years. I'm very skeptical of Vasher's ability to contribute at a high level.
  20. DESTROY THESE BOZOS!!! GAMETIME IS CLOSE BABY!!!
  21. ](*,) http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/1556493,CST-SPT-bear04.article I'm more interested in what the plan will be when Vasher gets injured. Because based on the past couple seasons, he will be injured.
  22. That article is truly hilarious. Flabby, quitter Buff should be flipping burgers, but instead he's destroying our handpicked, raised from the crib savior and it's ruining our series! How dare that big, bad, fat guy off the street spoil our holy crusade!
