It's interesting, what do they expect? Last year they had much better starting pitching. This year it's as bad as the Cubs have become without Lilly and Z. Macha's no miracle worker, but who is? They gave Yost the world at the trade deadline last year, and he eeked out a playoff berth. They gave Macha nothing, so now he's fired (potentially). I mean, it's his first year. Just seems really strange to me. I wonder if this is more about wanting a manager who will yell and scream more. Macha's very reserved.
