  1. Great news. Niiiiiiice. Where's Brinoch? Yeah, they finally had to pull the plug on Vasher. He's not responding. Bowman is miles better at this point, I have no doubt. Now if he can just stay healthy. Strangely, I have a feeling Tillman will put in a full year, or close to it. That will make things look much better for us if it works out this way.
  2. Nice find...my favorite part: He's a horrible judge of his own character.
  3. I'm sorry but regardless of the easy schedule, I'm having difficulty feeling positive at this point. Unless we're talking about seeing some signs of life with certain players for next year.
  4. This isn't baseball, contracts aren't guaranteed. He doesn't see a dime of the 2nd year money unless he's on the roster on opening day September 2010. They don't owe him anything if they release him. Don't they take a cap hit if they release him, though? I'm pretty sure they don't if he retires. I thought the cap hit was mostly for spread-out guaranteed money -- but I'm not all that cap savvy.
  5. I'm trying to figure out what kind of idiot I am for having this game on.
  6. Yeah. $12million and $13million respectively, I believe.
  7. 11-5 would be a fantasy come true.
  8. Now you must turn to anger and hatred. Hatred for the man who has ripped your heart to shreds.
  9. That's pretty strong worded. I'm *hoping* he's right. Favre deserves failure.
  10. Exactly. I'm not sure why they're calling it garbage. I wish the Bears would switch to FieldTurf like the Patriots did. The field is a disaster, especially for a defense that relies so much on its speed. Oh God. I'm going to assume you spilled something and didn't realize what you were typing. Have you watched Bears games, especially from November to January, the last 4 or 5 years? The field is a mangled mess of green-painted dirt. Messy football is football. Clean, sterile football is a commercially created package that doesn't hold the same interest and intrigue for me. Swine flu. I think you need to get checked for swine flu.

  12. There's more than one way into the playoffs. The other way is probably harder at this point. Depending on which BP playoff odds report you prefer, the Cubs have a 10-12 percent chance to win the division (better than I would have guessed) and a 3-7 percent chance of winning the Wild Card. Not lookin' good.
  13. Perhaps, but its still garbage. Have you ever walked on it? It's pretty incredible stuff. I'm sure there will always be cold weather cities with grass fields, but I'm not surprised that increasingly cold weather cities with open air stadiums are converting to Fieldturf. It feels so much like grass but doesn't get completely ripped up with bad weather like grass tends to do. In a few years I would expect there to be only about 2-3 teams left with grass in the northern half of the country. Yeah, I've walked on it. It's junk compared to grass. Doesn't make me think of the word "incredible" in the least.
  14. Perhaps, but its still garbage.
  15. It's not the old stuff, it's Field Turf. It's not one of the worst turfs in sports. Its still garbage Okay? No it's fairly average Field Turf. Slightly worse than some of the outdoor Field Turf fields but definitely nothing unusual. I think what he means is, even if its average field turf, it's still turf, and therefore garbage.
  16. I would love to use this as more evidence that Favre is the ultimate drama queen and gets a pass because he's Brett Favre. But I agree with those who are saying he planned this all along to avoid all the hard work in training camp. It's both, really. Favre's got a nice racket going in his old age. He gets to avoid the offseason work, pick a team that is desperate for any hope at QB, and then ride in like a conquering hero every year after that team's existing QBs prove that they suck in training camp. I don't think it lessens him as a drama queen in any respect. He's tops as far as I'm concerned.
  17. I think it's a story in that Jay has to realize that Hester isn't going to make those kinds of plays. He should have known that before that one, but maybe he wanted to see for himself. When I read the entire comment, it was easy for me to see that what he was saying wasn't a knock on Hester, but a knock on himself for not playing to Hester's skill set. But of course many didn't see it that way. I view it as a non-issue, but I acknowledge its just more fuel for the fire of those who are waiting and hoping for Cutler to fail.
  18. TO is less of a drama queen at this point.
  19. Of course he is! All the hard work is now over! Hahahah, what a douchebag. At least come out and admit you just don't want to do the offseason work anymore.
  20. I just hate Gregg. You can show me all the stats you want, I don't care. He must go. I don't even care who is to blame, or who isn't. Same with Miles.
  21. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-18-bears-bits-chicago-aug18,0,1064970.story M.A.S.H. unit (I'm ignoring the Cutler/Hester morass because I think its a non-story).
  22. I don't deny there might be some angle, but do you really think Glazer would let himself be co-opted by Favre and his agent for their little fishing task? That would make him really stupid.
  23. I'm all for the "Lou's an idiot thread." But I believe it would be longer with some other managers. Doesn't mean we can't improve. I will be very interested to see where we go next, when the time comes.
  24. I predicted he'd be back after two-a-days ended. Maybe it will be a little later, but I still think he'll be there sometime this season. LOL, speak for yourself, AC.
  25. We've got a large number of eggs in the Cutler basket :)
