  1. There is no sync at all. Jay has no feel for where receivers are going to be.
  2. Brilliant play by manning
  3. 2 times Clark quits on routes. I must say I didn't expect Dez to be mentally out of it.
  4. In that case I predict 24-22 Bears, with the Packers getting a meaningless safety just for the heck of it 8-)
  5. I'll enjoy Rose entering superstardom (or near it). Haven't seen that in 10+ years. And I'll believe the Bulls will pull off that big 2nd superstar acquisition only when I see it, in the following offseason. Show me.
  6. I'm going 24-23 Bears as well. In a fantastic game.
  7. If we can go 1-2 through that stretch, I'll be content. I'd be glad to be in a position to get to 2-2 for the first quarter of the season with a win against Detroit and go from there (there's that Lovie-speak again). Me too. :beg:
  8. She's this tiny thing, little more than a skeleton with some skin stretched over it. Merriman's a monster. He choked her and there's not one iota of physical evidence? Color me super skeptical, as well. There would be all kinds of bruising, marks everywhere. Couldn't have happened like she says. Maybe he made a choking gesture in the air at her because she wouldn't shut up.
  9. The thing I'm worried about: if we lose at GB, then there's Pitt and a road game in Seattle. An 0-3 start would put a damper on the excitement, most certainly. We got a tough draw to open the season, while the Vikings get to pound the league's dregs to almost certainly shoot out of the gate, and the Packers get the Bungles and the Rams after they play us.
  10. You can do that? How does that even work? Does Tile just tell Merriman that he's under arrest, and then call in the police to take him into custody? Check this out: http://www.criminalattorney.com/pages/firm_articles_citizens_arrest.htm I'd like to know exactly how she performed the citizen's arrest on Merriman. Apparently the authorities aren't complaining, so I can only assume she did it right.
  11. If they have any reason to suspect there was domestic violence, the police have to take the guy in don't they? It doesn't mean charges will be filed though. Sure they can question anyone. But arresting someone usually happens once they are sure charges will follow.
  12. True, I'm hearing plenty of people up here penciling the Packers into the Super Bowl. And doing it with a straight face -- no exaggeration. I still want to see that defense over the course of a season, but whatever. There's no doubt they'll be able to put up points. That makes them a dangerous team, IMO. Super Bowl might be a bit ambitious coming off a sub-.500 season, before even playing a single game.
  13. I don't know, the Big 10 seems pretty weak to me this year. Maybe there's just more weakness across the country.
  14. He is now, and the Bears should be making that call. I agree.
  15. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Wilson-Fired-Schonert-says-Jauron-wanted-a-PopWarner-offense.html Jauron's offensive approach has always been simple. But also, he's trying to install a no-huddle this year, so it makes sense to me that you would want to limit the formations -- it will help avoid penalties and mistakes, and help to get the no-huddle installed faster. I think there's two sides to this story. But in any event, when a guy goes out and airs his dirty laundry to the press, that tells me he isn't a real quality guy in the first place. If you've got a problem, then the best way to prove you were right is to get another job and be successful. Taking pot shots in the press is classless.
  16. Our chances? Well within the realm of the extremely unlikely.
  17. I listened to that interview. I didn't see how Hendry was being a jerk, or being too "tense" or whatever Mac was trying to say. Sure, they were pointed questions, and Hendry responded with some annoyance. But it wasn't really all that noteworthy, IMO. I'm much more confused and upset about Lou's comment, where he emphasized that the expectations for the Cubs were all coming from the fans this year. Like, buh?!? What were YOUR expectations this year, Lou?
  18. Haha, wow.. that would be.... I would probably put my head through a window. A total blowout -- usually not as painful as losing in the final seconds. At least for me. I'm known to actually start laughing when it gets to a certain point.
  19. Not a bad tradeoff for mid-70's weather in December and January. Use your DVR :)
  20. That was my take too. Just because they aren't squeezing every last dime of what they could shouldn't mean they rank at the bottom of the league. They've been playing well, they sell out their stadium for every home game instantly, their top players move merchandise... Ridiculous to say the Bears are one of the worst. Just absolutely ridiculous.
  21. Exactly. Plus, who does Vs. think they are pulling a power play with that crappy programming lineup? Screw 'em.
  22. I read that there was an issue, but didn't realize they had taken it off the air already. I have to side with Directv as well. Versus sucks. It's completely worthless 99% of the time. And since I decided to get the center ice package last year, and will go with it again this year, I have no need for it. Well, Vs. games aren't on CI, either in the regular season or playoffs. They might be if we get into the season without Vs. on Directv, but otherwise we'd be out of luck for those games. That would suck, but think about it: the network is the tour de france, a few NHL games, and junk. I probably watched Vs. 3 times this year (for Hawks games), is that really worth an addtional rate hike for DirecTV? I don't think so. So even if Vs. caves in and DirecTV puts it on their pay HDTV tier, I can't see myself forking out extra for it. DirecTV is already pretty expensive for me. If Vs. is one of the networks that keeps my rate from going even higher, then -- oh well. Better that than some of the channels I actually watch.
  23. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AkTRBAKNCS7Mo3emY2Mo_2FDubYF?slug=ms-ownerrankingspartone09020&prov=yhoo&type=lgns As I understand it, the Bears are a top 10 franchise in terms of value of the team, and cash flow. How can you be ranked lower than the Lions when that is the case? That ranking seems like a joke to me. I don't think the McCaskeys are one of the best, mind you -- but worse than the Lions? Huh? I think they mean capitalizing on the popularity of the franchise. The belief in that article is that the Bears have such a following, and such a great sports city, and there's a lot more money and hype to be weilded around, and that isn't being done. I get the point, though I still disagree with the ranking. It's subjective. Who knows what the Lions could have built their franchise into with good ownership? That's also a huge market, new stadium, etc. At least the Bears actually ARE a strong brand, with good cash flow.
