  1. Good week for a trip to Alaska. I'll bet the Canucks will also be watching Bear football. Other than that, this is why I shell out all that cash for NFLST
  2. I was wondering that too. I also found it interesting that they chose to use Joniak instead of Laravee. And they're playing it during the Packer games on the radio, too. I wonder how many Packer fans understand who that is :)
  3. I'm pretty sure today he doesn't feel like the luckiest guy on the face of the planet anymore.
  4. That line is, for the most part, brand new. It's an assemblage of players from around the country who haven't seen or played with each other....besides this offseason. I agree there's concern, but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect they will jump up quite a bit as the season progresses. I agree that if they don't improve, it will likely be an issue that costs us dearly.
  5. Since I don't care for either team, I'm rooting for a close game.
  6. Doesn't sound like it would be a real good idea to try to play with a fractured rib
  7. Yeah, I didn't have much hope for Fox before this year, but he's shown enough to be given such a job. The fact that he hasn't been traded to an AL team in need of a cheap bat suggests to me there just isn't a market out there for him, so I think I'd rather just keep him in that role. I don't have much problem with that, either.
  8. It's not often a guy racks up that kind of rushing yardage in a loss. That TD catch by Andre was unbelievable. That's a tough loss for the Titans.
  9. Hendry's taking a hit for his offseason, and will continue to. I don't think there's much question about that.
  10. Gashing a defense for 5+ yards/carry is one good way to neutralize a loud environment. That's what I'm thinking. This is the week to get the run game going. Then continue it next week against Detroit. That's my dream scenario.
  11. Not lamenting it anymore, but I've got to believe he would have played a tad better than he is right now if he was still in his familiar role with the Cubs. Why? He wouldn't have been injured? Why would he have been immune to the "team slumps" the lineup seemed to go through this year? He certainly wasn't last year the few times the lineup went cold. The injury, plus being shuffled between cities. I don't think it's that easy to continually have to re-work yourself into a team during the course of a year. Doesn't mean I think he would have been great, though.
  12. bucs in OT one year, can't remember which one. funny thing is that Gould wasn't that great at Penn State. He wasnt. I believe it was when he went to NE the ST coach changed his approach and the number of steps he took before kicking the ball. He doesnt have very good range but ill take his accuracy anyday, especially in a windy stadium. Watching other kickers miss the easy ones, I feel really good about Gould inside of 50 yards (knock on wood). Some Steeler fans called the Bear win luck today (at work). Having a FG kicker who can make a pressure kick in bad conditions counts for something. Yesterday it was the difference between winning and losing. That's not luck.
  13. I think you're confused about what a "copout" is. So are you saying I have a responsibility to stand by the Cubs, no matter how poorly run they are, no matter how unpleasant they are to watch? No matter how many predictably stupid moves they make, even though I'm powerless to change these things? Okay, then, I happily admit I'm "copping out" of my sacred responsibility as a Cubs fan, whenever it suits me. My point was that people are responsible for their own choices, and if you reach a point where your decision to be a Cubs fan is making your life miserable, it's a copout to say you can't change it. Whether or not to follow the team is ultimately the only power you DO have in this situation, and you'd be a fool to rule it out over some archaic romantic idea that it's in your blood or some crap like that. Yeah, but you can't let Cub misery bleed over into making your entire life miserable. I could see how someone would want to change if that was the case. I've noticed that other areas of my life do just fine when my sports teams suck. That probably not a real big coincidence, too :) You are also responsible for keeping your sports from making you as a whole a miserable person, you know. To me it's much more of a copout to quit your team.
  14. This implies that Milton knew he was going to be disruptive here, which is crazy. As I said the guy is unbalanced, you don't think he believed everything he said when he did? You think he likes being in this situation? I heard this comment on the radio this morning, too. I don't understand it. How did Bradley "sell the Cubs a bill of goods," exactly? It's like you said. Are they suggesting that Bradley intended to suck or something? What a strange assertion to make.
  15. I can't even comprehend that kind of mentality. To me it's for life. Period. End of story.
  16. Anxious is a good word for me too. There are so many new parts on that OLine though. Sometimes it can take a bit to start working well together. I don't think the pass protection has been all that stellar either, frankly. But better than the run blocking. If they can't get any kind of ground game going in the next two weeks (Seattle, and then Detroit).......I will begin to panic about it.
  17. I don't know, but I will take a guess and say nothing will happen.
  18. Oh well. I remain unapologetic for being a little hopeful when they were only 4 back in the loss column a little while ago :)
  19. Not lamenting it anymore, but I've got to believe he would have played a tad better than he is right now if he was still in his familiar role with the Cubs. Still though, you are right. It's long past time to move on from that one.
  20. I joke about it sometimes to let off steam, but speaking seriously -- this isn't even an option. If you can switch teams, then how good a fan are you in the first place?
  21. I didn't like the helmet-to-helmet stuff (both times on Olsen -- it's fine to try to rattle a guy, but that seemed dangerous to me), however here's a pretty classy quote from Tomlin: http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6126
  22. Give it some time. Sometimes it takes a few games to get the run game going.
  23. After watching that play I think an ankle sprain is pretty good news
  24. Oh wow that's a pick 6
