    So how did PCA go from the guy who looked clueless at the plate for stretches last year to just mashing the hell out of everything? Is he just the perfect guy for Counsell to mold? Honestly curious because I don’t think I’ve seen this drastic a level-up. I’m enjoying the heck out of it of course.

    LOL the loud music is pretty much a thing now. It’s kind of cool being able to walk up to the ticket office and pick a good seat like you can no doubt do in Miami. I did that in Seattle once. As a Cub fan there was something special about saying I’d like to buy a ticket and being asked “ok where would you like to sit?” Good win today. It’s nice to win a few low scoring games. Makes me feel better about our pitching.

    Not sure what choice he has. Like you said, the arms aren't there and the front office would have to find a solution. The Steele and Imanaga injuries are hugely impactful. I think the Cubs have done a good job banking wins with great offense but it was always going to eventually drag us down. It hurts even more that the Cards are apparently unstoppable now.

    As bad as we all thought it was inside Halas Hall, turns out it was worse. Who ever heard of not watching film with your QB? I believe this team is in the best position to succeed on offense as it has been in my lifetime though. And reading the end of the article it sounds like Caleb is thrilled with what’s happening.

    This Stowers kid is pretty good. Looks like he's playing on a 1 year deal worth $768,000. I predict an upcoming feeding frenzy and one team that won't be involved will be the Marlins.

    Shoeless Joe also now eligible. The “integrity of the game” argument against Rose took a huge hit when MLB and frankly all the leagues went all-in on partnering with gambling entities like FanDuel and Draftkings. I’m not saying gambling is something terrible in itself but that argument no longer makes much sense to me. The commissioner’s argument that Rose is dead so he no longer poses a threat to the integrity of the game is BS because of Shoeless Joe, who has been dead since 1951. I just think the stench of hypocrisy from MLB on this is overwhelming.

    I guess if this is really the bullpen for the season it’s a pretty good bet we’ll sink back down to a mean that’s kinda .500-ish The offense is still really good but two top starters out, crap bullpen….smells like mediocrity
