  1. PCA has very little chance of success against LHP now. The bunt was a good idea I just don’t know why he pulled back on it.
  2. The only thing that matters is what they do moving forward. We know seasons ebb and flow. We know the Cubs had a time when they were blowing up team after team just like the Brewers are right now. It wasn’t just a blip. It was a real, sustained run. It’s the same team. The Cubs don’t have to get back to that pace. But they do need to have a few guys pull out of their slumps and hopefully new BP arms bolster the later innings on the back end. Even if they don’t win the division the top WC spot is entirely reasonable. Get it done, starting today.
  3. Sounds a lot like previous years. Wheels come off down the stretch. Well, we aren’t there yet so here’s hoping this group can get back on track. It wouldn’t take much. Need a couple guys to come out of their slump. Right now it seems all of our top bats are struggling at the same time and BP meltdowns like today just won’t cut it. Too many other teams won’t have that. I consider the division to be unlikely but we can still make the playoffs.
  4. Jed has yet to piece together a good BP. The suckage continues. Today was 5th win flipped to a loss after 7th inning. We will be here at the end of September wondering what might have been.
  5. Not only that but we would need the Brewers to stop destroying everything, or else we could play well and still not win it.
  6. No doubt. I hope not but it could get very ugly that series.
  7. Insane. I never thought he’d challenge PCA in the zone. He did and PCA just didn’t get it done. It was there for him.
  8. …..and he got his pitch and missed it.
  9. Ok. PCA will see nothing but crap way out of the zone. Pitching coach is saying don’t you dare throw anything near the zone.
  10. REALLY need Tucker to live up to it right now.
  11. Man, that pitch wasn’t bad luck. I can still smell the reek in my living room.
  12. I don’t disagree. What happened to Suzuki, holy crap.
  13. Offense isn’t going to bail out a BP implosion. Sucks, but root cause isn’t the O today.
  14. He sure as heck let 2 of those 4 runs on base!
  15. What a joke. And why can’t I type swear words.
  16. I don’t think the level of competition is tough enough to be a real obstacle for them.
  17. Get this clown out of the game before it’s too late.
  18. It’s the Nats so yeah, I would not be surprised if they flick their pinky and sweep.
  19. Vaughn is maddening. He’s exactly the kind of player somehow the Brewers get what they need from, even though objectively he’s not good. It’s like what do they know that no one else does?
  20. I’d rather be overjoyed at the unexpected resigning of Tucker than disappointed with losing him, when the scales seem heavily weighted towards losing him anyway.
  21. So the Cubs essentially behaved like the Brewers once again. They picked up a couple players that are sort of OK, “sounds good” guys but nothing splashy. Then they hope they can get a great Aug/Sept out of them without trading away the farm. So is Castro this year’s Mark Canha?
