I don't know if this is sarcastic or not, but Green Bay just did this exact thing six years ago, with a much less injury-riddled QB and a much lower draft pick. And I'm fairly sure it worked out ok. NFL franchises have to do what's best for them, they can't afford to honor history. Not even close. Favre was much closer to being done. And the Packers have always had way more going for them than just a QB. This is most certainly not a sarcastic post. Every bit of excitement Colts fans have experienced over the past decade can be traced to one man. To cut off his balls without even giving him a shot to show he's still viable would be ridiculous. And let's be honest. Luck's not sitting around for years. This isn't Rodgers, a QB drafted much lower and made to sit because of that and learn. This is the single most well regarded QB coming out of college in a long while. He's starting year 2 for sure, or it's a major slap in his face. Sorry, but I think there's huge fallout if the Colts draft Luck. Let's stop acting like this is a simple thing. It's not. Peyton Manning is that city, and in spite of his injury, there's still reason to believe he's got many years left as a QB. This isn't Favre. Not by a long shot.
