  1. I don't understand how one could be shocked when that very story line has been discussed all offseason to date. That's what people are expecting. It would hardly be shocking. Because it's never happened before with this franchise at the WR position. I don't see how anyone could not be shocked, regardless of storylines. It's one thing to talk about something like that, and quite another for it to actually happen.
  2. Yeah, not worth it. I think Floyd and Wright will still be available at 19, and I'd be okay with either one of them. Get a big name free agent receiver to pair up with either one of those guys and the position will be a tremendous upgrade over last year. Well sure, but I'd be pretty shocked if they threw that much into one position in one offseason. Wouldn't you? A free agent and a higher draft pick? No, I would not be surprised. It's almost a necessity. He suggested a top FA though. So, VJax & Floyd for example. I'd love it, but would be shocked.

  4. Don't worry, we'll have it figured out by late April.
  5. I do like that one.
  6. You mean in college? How about because a lot of defenders in college suck? Its not like the guy is coming from Abilene Christian. There was plenty of talent to judge his performances against. Sure he will be slower relatively, everyone is. not everyone will be slow like he is though. and johnny knox actually has had some really good seasons if we can talk about guys who get by on pure speed. Also we're not talking about whether Wright will get an opportunity in the NFL. We're talking about whether a team should invest 1st round mega money in him without him ever playing a down.
  7. Yes, but would prefer to just let it pass and get on with actual baseball.

  9. Barney was either tired or wasted. Or bored as all [expletive].
  10. and yet he ran like a slow receiver. we'll see what he does at his pro day, but he's likely out of the first round, which sucks for us because that means floyd is rising. he actually ran fast. Actually it may mean we pick this guy instead of Floyd, so you might want to think of reasons he'll be good in spite of the 4.6 time at the combine :)
  11. It's one data point. There are a bunch of them.
  12. He can't be any worse than Roy Williams. Being better than Roy Williams can't be the standard by which we do anything, ever.
  13. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/playerbreakingnews.asp?sport=NFL&id=3202&line=228522&spln=1 hope hope hope
  14. Maybe a ring would bring him back into balance. Now he just needs Wade and Bosh to get one for him.
  15. Really? It's still 2 months until draft day. I'm not writing Floyd off dropping to our position. Much stranger things have happened.
  16. God this team has just become a hollow shell.
  17. I always thought it was hilarious when some analysts would cite RG3's speed and mobility as a reason to take him over Luck, basically implying that Luck was Peyton Manning. I've never heard anyone that knows what they are talking about question Luck's athletic ability. Honestly, he reminds me of Peyton Manning's brain on Rich Gannon's body. Gannon was one of the best athletes to ever play QB at a high level. Probably only behind Steve Young and Randall Cunningham. There's probably a gulf between those who really know, and the general public + media. I think today will do a lot to reset that impression. There's a ton of talk about RG3's measurables, as there should be. But Luck was also very impressive to me.
  18. The A's should hire Brad Pitt. To play Billy Beane.
  19. Grubbs is going to be expensive as hell. Don't get me wrong, he'd help us out for sure, but I'd probably spend that kind of money elsewhere personally. By the way, the comments I've heard from Tice and Lovie, make it seem like Webb is definitely our LT next year. I don't know what a Grubbs signing would mean for Williams. One thing CW has shown is adaptability. He's building up a nice skillset. Maybe the Bears are thinking along these lines... Just a thought.
  20. Luck just ran a 4.59 which is pretty damn good in the QB world. Newton ran a 4.56. FWIW, Luck also outjumped RG3.
  21. pro athletes of wisconsin unite against the establishment.
  22. They can pay VJ $14 million if they want, but Norv will still find a way to fail.
  23. I want to hear him scream a little louder. It's not convincing enough yet.
  24. Yup. I can't decide whether to get excited about three in a row, even though they are were each against top 5 teams (points-wise) in the league. I still see significant holes on the 2nd and 3rd pairings and on the 3rd and 4th lines. The goaltending has been inconsistent, though I think that is as much a product of bad defense as it is shoddy play by Craw and Ray. The inconsistency will continue. There's really no reason it would disappear this late. If they were going to solve the holes, the giveaways, the spotty goaltending -- they'd have done it. It's not like they aren't trying, waiting for some magical date to turn it on. They're doing what they can. It's just a flawed club right now.
