I tend to think, as of now, that 2015 is probably the most realistic year to begin to make a push. I doubt even the great Theo survives 2 more full seasons of horrible, bottom-feeder baseball. This team MUST compete. -
:( A slower release makes it easier for everyone, not just the 49ers defense. I don't want Jay Cutler playing unless he's completely healthy. Not when there could be real danger to his entire career, and the potential benefit is 8-2 versus 7-3.

You have to be absolutely [expletive] kidding me. This better be false. I'm hoping his comments help him get some away time along with the hefty fine he will surely be receiving. What an absolute scum bag. At least own up to being dirty. Yeah, it's not imaginary. He definitely said that.

We've been able to live with the anemic offense. Add bad turnovers to the mix, though -- that pushes it over the edge. It's less turnovers on their own so much as bad hands in general last night. It's bad enough when guys are popping the ball loose, nevermind they're not catching balls right there for them. Davis arguably singlehandedly lost this game. Yeah, true.

I'm on board with this as well. It just stinks that it's 1/16 of the season, so it still matters a lot, sort of. It was better in 08 with baseball with the lunatics flying off the handle when we were losing a game. Win next week and the conversation completely changes. That's what is amusing about post game chatter. It's always over the top regardless. Your team is either a bunch of bums, or they're great. I can't deny I feed into it sometimes :)

The long ball was there. Receivers just couldn't bring them in. Yep. Cutler made several spot on passes that weren't hauled in. And as good as Marshall is/was, he clanged a TD pass. Soooo many things about last night that irk me. The Marshall TD pass that wasn't is yet another.

That's not good. Is it? He played way better than Campbell in spot duty last year.

As if the matchups on MNF aren't bad enough, they finally get a good one and both QBs may be out.

I'm not going to go back and find it, but that's what I said at the time too. He at least should get a hefty fine or something for that hit. And that pass was absolutely legal.

He played the rest of the half. That tells me he will only be out a week or two. I don't expect Jay to play against the 9ers. Therefore, this game will likely be a display of offensive suckage.

Well, sucky game. But, it's really hard to say what would have happened with Cutler in there the whole game. We didn't get blown out, and the Texans weren't really able to dominate. All of this just emphasizes how important a good QB is to me. Campbell can't save us in a pinch, just like Hanie couldn't. Without Jay Cutler, we are pretty much sunk. As tonight showed.

See check downs all the time in the 2-minute. Usually they aren't covered check downs, but it's a way to get easy yardage, especially when you have plenty of time and a timeout. Usually a QB......even a pretty bad one......will not throw that checkdown when a defender is right there, waiting to make the tackle. Apparently, JC is a different breed. Just throw it to the checkdown even if it is a guaranteed sucky play.

Well yeah. The only difference is that Campbell was a legitimate starting QB in the league and has the talent to be a great backup QB but apparently chooses not to. The Redskins managed him to death to cover for the fact that he's not a legitimate starting QB. Time to move past that.

Just declare his injury "career ending." Whether it is or not. Just declare him ineligible to play, ever again.

That was a huge play for the Texans. Very make-able FG, even in this weather.
