    I basically blew off the Seahawks as a mid-range club, and their record combined with their inability to win on the road seemed to support that. But looking at the DVOAs, it's a different story. They are easily the highest ranked team with a 6-5 record, and actually outrank the Bears right now. Also, they held steady in spite of their loss last week. It is uncanny how you can just chalk up home wins and away losses for them, almost regardless of opponent. Wins at home against Green Bay, NE. Losses on the road against MIA, STL. Ultimately, I really hope that continues -- that is all. I'm gonna go Bears 20, Seahawks 17.

    Nice preview. Although, I think teams just test the Bears OLine with blitzes & different looks regardless - provided they have the ability to do so. Carimi playing G doesn't really change that formula very much, IMO. They could just as easily test him playing RT, knowing he hasn't handled that position very well either. I don't see that as a bad matchup specifically for this game. It's just a tough thing for the Bears to deal with every week. Sometimes they get it done (Webb last week against Allen, for example). Sometimes they really get hosed (49ers).

    LOL, well if he's right, it'll confirm all his beliefs about Cutler having something......something wrong there.....just.......something.

    Guess: he'll get around 15-20% the first year. I think when Bonds gets into the hall, the mindset changes a bit. It will be kind of interesting to see how much the voting changes (if at all) once the king roider of all time gets into the hall.

    Yes, I am no longer worried about Forte's situation. He'll be back soon enough, and Bush can pick up the slack for a week if need be.

    Some good points, but I think it's an overly-positive view of the Bears' OL situation.

    Fewer than if the game were to happen in, say, two weeks rather than this Sunday.

    I was shocked this morning on the Mike & Mike show -- Mark Schlereth said Cutler deserves to be in the MVP conversation. I don't necessarily agree with it, but ever since Cutler dismissed himself from the Broncos Schlereth has been drinking Cutler haterade by the gallon. I think there are a few out there who are beginning to turn a little more positive on Cutler. It helps illustrate how talented he is when he's *not* in the lineup, and people see what the Bears offense really is without a good QB.

    It's been a couple days, and I'm still not getting how attaching a ball to the bat makes you hit better.

    I'm not sure of the rule regarding it, but jumping up to hit a guy in the head is the unnecessary/dirty part, IMO.

    They are a pretty good study at what an NFL collapse looks like. They were 11-5 in 2009 and have steadily declined since.

    Well that's what it talks about. There have been a few that actually did test for it and had their suspension dropped/reduced when the league investigated their appeal, but then some suspensions have stayed despite being appealed. Basically since the league doesn't make public what players test positive for there really is no way of knowing if they are telling the truth or not for what they tested positive for v. what they say. What I mean is, the first few might avoid "the stigma of steroids" that way, but after that, the general public won't buy it.

    Just let me know when the actual Bulls are back on the court (i.e. Rose returns)

    if players use that as an excuse, it will likely only work for the first few. Then people will catch on.

    Cutler in no way fits ESPN's profile. The only way they'll give him serious positive coverage is if he wins a Super Bowl, and that's because they would be forced to. Until then, expect more of the same. Frankly, it's a badge of honor to be panned by the likes of Jackson and Carter, IMHO. Throw Bradshaw into the same bucket. That deadspin article is fantastic, BTW.

    He'll be the first OL off the bench if Spencer is still hurt. I assume they'll start Webb-Williams-Garza-Carimi-Scott. I'm probably jumping the gun, but I wonder if Carimi plays well at guard -- they might just leave him there.

    [expletive] So, a guy his size, he's probably done for next year too right? I can't imagine bringing an OL back from injury in December next year.... I think he'll be back. I know he's not Peterson, but if he can play after the same surgery on New Years, then I would think Louis could make it back by at least October having the surgery a month earlier and not having to be concerned about cutting and planting. Bigger concern is he is a FA and do u resign him if u don't know if he's healthy until right before the season. Ugh, even with that I'm still guessing they won't bring him back then. Add Allen to the list of players who should really receive some kind of karmic whack in the face.
