Just win [expletive] football games. Everything else is just peripheral drama. He starts making big plays on Sunday, and fans will cheer for him just like any other player. At some point, an openly gay player is going to be an integral part of a team -- we're really just talking about when, not if. If not Sam, then eventually it will be someone else.

I think a major objective of the bridge was to be able to put more signage up there. A tunnel wouldn't do much in that way. I don't recall that idea even being floated for the neighborhood not to like, though. It was, and looking back it was Tunney who started chirping up about it. So anyway -- if a guy is projected mid rounds, 4th - 7th round, it's not uncommon for that player to fall out into the UDFA ranks. I don't think it will "get ugly" on draft day, like I might have if he was really projected in the earlier rounds.

Want. I noticed that this model doesn't have the pedestrian bridge from the hotel to the stadium. I wonder if they could accomplish the same thing by using an underground tunnel instead, since -- remembering back -- the neighborhood didn't like that idea either.

I could have sworn I read that Sam was projected 3rd round before the announcement. Now I'm seeing 3rd - 5th.

If he drops because of this, it will be a huge story on draft day too. Could get kind of ugly, actually. I'd like to think that a guy like Emery -- desperate for defensive talent, especially on the D Line -- would find it very difficult to pass up a high value pick like this if he falls to, say, the 5th round or so. Of course, what I'd like to think vs. what will actually happen: probably two different things.

He should have driven to Boston and done a man on the street poll Anyway, there's people in that comment thread with positive things to say about Theo's time in Boston. Didn't look overly negative to me. About 60/40 against. You'd probably get that in any thread with fans talking about their last GM.

Wouldn't have mattered. That was all on Rexy. Though, if Mike Brown was in there, they probably don't score that first TD on Danieal Manning's blown coverage. Maybe you get some pressure up the middle and get another turnover or two. Then just have Rex hand the ball off. I don't know :) You're right, probably wouldn't have mattered.

Yeah, if I knew nothing about the two teams, or the players on them, I would have guessed Denver was the young inexperienced squad. Seriously terrible football game. Only one team showed up. Arguably the league's biggest star crapped the bed in front of the world.
