  1. I see a lot of people saying this but he was clearly reaching to grab his flag before the contact. Unless you are saying he initiated contact to make the flag he threw more justified? The taunting rule is horsefeathering stupid and should not be used to alter the outcome of games. I always thought the taunting rule was for when a player got into another player's face, or basically was really close and shouting stuff. That's not at all what this was. It's not like what he was doing was hurting anyone. That's just got to change. It can't be a player simply staring at the other team's bench from 20 yards away. I guess I understand the ref saying, look this is what I'm told to do so I did it. But that just says to me, they've got revisit this thing. I saw the ref pull on the flag before the contact. To me there was no question that the contact had nothing to do with it. I'm upset with the TD being taken off the board by the low block call which didn't even make contact, and the late hit on Fields which if the league is going to say they are protecting QBs then they must actually protect QBs. And if the ref didn't see it, then he needs to figure out how to be better at his job. There simply can't be an excuse for that. But ultimately I'm going to take away positives from this game because 2021 Bears is all about Fields' future as a star QB and I'm definitely seeing it happen.
  2. I've calmed down a little now and heck, this season wasn't likely to result in playoffs anyway, and I'm left with the simple fact: Justin Fields just went into Pittsburgh, one of the toughest venues to play as a visiting QB, and brought his team back in the 4th quarter against a pretty good D. There aren't a lot of QBs that will do that period, much less a rookie in his early starts. This guy is a legit star in the making guys. I'm 100% convinced.
  3. I trust he’s smart enough to know that on his own. I don’t trust Nagy to emphasize that with him though.
  4. Not I. The phantom clipping call that called back the TD was the difference in the game. Screw that, what about the missed roughing the passer on the next play? I don't care about the outcome in fact, this loss should help to hasten the firing of both Nagy and Pace, I do care about the multitude of targeting head shots and late hits Fields has taken. Just WTF are those officials looking at, oh wait I know, phantom illegal blocks. Fields grew again today, it's all there, next step is the McCaskey' getting their next iteration of GM and HC correct, something I do not believe they're capable of doing. Fields is legit. That’s the end of that argument as far as I’m concerned. That’s the big thing I’m taking from this game. But damn, the refs are out of control awful and it’s not just Bear games, it’s all games.
  5. I mean, at first I was confused why Santos was warming up on the sideline when the only play was a Hail Mary. That’s how bizarre that decision was for me. My mouth dropped open when I realized he was kicking for real. Nagy does not belong as a HC in the NFL. Maybe he’s a solid coordinator but his time here must end.
  6. Somebody tell me why I shouldn’t feel butthurt at the refs stealing the game from us.
  7. No one can EVER tell me Fields doesn’t have it. Never ever. Holy crap!
  8. Something has to change. This can’t be what NFL football is. Just can’t be.
  9. Can’t even believe this. What is happening?
  10. LOL alrighty then.
  11. So….. Would be a tie game.
  12. Yeah this is where it gets uber frustrating.
  13. No words. Wow just wow
  14. Oh boy was that a catch?
  15. And if we had an offense getting “pinned” would mean little or nothing. Instead, how do I feel right now? Nervous.
  16. Another positive thing! Freaking awesome hard count Fields.
  17. I’m gonna say something positive DAMMIT. Nice horsefeathering tackle by Gipson
  18. You can pretty much go through the schedule and put an L next to these games.
  19. https://sports.yahoo.com/case-study-of-young-q-bs-over-the-top-protection-of-jordan-love-vs-unfair-criticism-of-justin-fields-174936972.html Interesting article on the differences between how Nagy and LaFleur are handling the questions about QB play. Short story, LaFleur was eager to throw himself under the bus, while Nagy seems more willing to throw Fields under the bus.
  20. If it wasn't a Bear game, I'd definitely relegate it to background noise as I do other, more important things like playing fetch with the dog. Alas, I'll be watching.

    NFL Week 9

It’s unbelievable but it really has the same feeling of ineptitude as what Bear fans watch every week.

    NFL Week 9

He's playing behind a re-built OL and yes, something' not quite right. I know it's only a half but, I think its a safe bet to say the Packers' recent run on HOF QB's ends with Rodgers. Well yes Love does not look good. Mahomes though, how many times is he going to simply ignore his TE running wide open right in front of him? That missed INT too - that had nothing to do with anything but Mahomes making a terrible decision. He’s just blah right now.

    NFL Week 9

I don’t know who these Chiefs are but they aren’t the same team that won the Super Bowl. Mahomes in particular. He’s not the same guy.
  24. Road wins over top 20 opponents sandwiching a home loss to Rutgers is the most Illinois thing ever. It kills me that blowing that game against MD is probably going to be what keeps Illinois out of a bowl in BB’s first season. But, I do think the arrow is pointing up.
  25. What a letdown for Sparty, wow.
