  1. Lions season record will be 1-15-1
  2. It feels like low 50’s FGs are expected at this point. I mean, not “make it or else” but definitely need to be able to kick it that far.
  3. Ahh Thanksgiving. Turkey, stuffing, all the fixings. And bad football.
  4. This is the most active Bears thread in years.
  5. i wouldn't mind Bezos as long as he has decided to step away from Amazon and really focus on developing the Bears, mainly. but I worry the Bears would just be a trophy for him.. Its fine if it's a trophy. He would almost certainly be hiring a right hand person still to do most heavy lifting. Someone like Khan or Kroenke who are pretty involved still have highly trusted President types doing a lot of work. He could go hire the best sports exec he can find to lead his global sports empire (Bears, AH stadium, and anything else he wants to add to it). His successes far outweigh his failures, and that has held true even as he's branched out from Amazon's original vision. I'd celebrate if Bezos bought the team.
  6. I'm kind of happy to give Detroit a win. those folks need something to celebrate Plus, if Nagy's final decision as HC is to not play Fields, he'll be going out on a high note.
  7. So tomorrow's game will be the football equivalent of chopping the head off a Thanksgiving turkey and watching it run around the yard on pure motor response, before finally falling over to die. Fun times.
  8. To me, if your GM isn't going to be allowed to hire his HC, then he shouldn't be the GM. But, I think the Bears have put themselves into these awkward in-between positions before, where they have things like Hatley being "VP of Personnel" instead of GM. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens just like you say. But I've disliked Pace from the beginning, and I think it's time for both of these clowns to go.
  9. If they are keeping him they probably do need to address it at some point, but I wouldn't put it past them to hold on, whether they planned to or not. Yeah I've learned to never underestimate the Bears handling something poorly, so I wouldn't be surprised either. I think they'll find it to be unnecessarily awkward if they do hold on.
  10. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like Nagy wasn't scheduled to meet with leadership, and said he wasn't, given the short week. But then he did meet with leadership. After that he cancelled all his meetings. And leadership hasn't said boo about any of this. Seems like he's fired to me. Keeping him around through week 17 to save face isn't going to work out well for the Bears. It will only increase the swirling questions around Nagy's fate. That's quite a bit of time for mounting questions to be lobbed at the Bears from the press, and they do still have games to play. It's much better to just get it over with now.
  11. It’s the only explanation why they both aren’t already gone. Better not be true....or.....I don't know what but it better not be true. I still think an explanation could be tried-and-true Bears leadership stuff like, you don't fire a HC mid-season... because you don't fire a HC mid-season.
  12. 2021: 5 game losing streak and counting 2020: 6 game losing streak 2019: 4 game losing streak 2019, the only reason it wasn’t a 6 game losing streak is because the football gods delivered us the Lions. Maybe the Lions can stop our streak @ 5 this year but then it’s AZ and GB, two auto-losses. Nagy must go. We need an organizational reset before putting Fields out there to be killed again. Let Dalton fail and get slaughtered. It’s what we acquired him for in the first place.
  13. Personally I think a rare mid-season firing is in order because they need to serve notice that the organization won’t tolerate this kind of incompetence but I know they won’t do it.
  14. The ineptitude is so glaring I just don’t know how any of the so-called leaders of this team could want another season of this.
  15. Probably lose anyway.
  16. Apparently a cold virus hit a few of their players but I’ve never seen a cold do that to anyone.

    NFL Week 9

Kind of weird that no other team can do it, the league banned it....but then they did it again.

I don't think you can call it grifting. Nobody thinks it is anything more than an expensive souvenir that looks good framed on a wall that makes it not quite as weird to refer to the team as "we". I'm shocked (and pleased) that they didn't figure out a way to have NFTs involved somehow. Just because they're relatively upfront about it doesn't make it not a grift. It's basically soliciting donorations. …just in time for Christmas. The ultimate Packer fan stocking stuffer.

    NFL Week 9

The Rams are a great team? Clearly not, though they came in with a 7-2 record. Clearly there are NO great teams in the NFL anymore. Congrats, NFL, your desire for parity has lead to league wide mediocrity I feel like the Rams decided to just sign anyone and everyone in this all-out bid to “win now” and I’m thinking, hey if it was that easy why pay a GM? I don’t think the Rams are yet a perennial contender like say the Pats were all those years, or the Packers or Saints with Brees. They’re good for a bizarro crap game every now & again. Anyway I’ll bet the rest of the league studies this game tape very closely because 49ers completely shut down their offense.
  20. I was just looking at this last night. This may be the toughest schedule anyone has played in the history of football. All the playoff teams. The back and forth home-away schedule. The MNF game on the road before a bye. Playing a team not coming off a bye but only get 2 more days rest than them. Playing a day game the following Thursday after coming off a bye (same thing the Ravens just did and looked horrible the 2nd game). Throw in the fact that the Bears lead the league in the new taunting penalties despite probably having the fewest diva players in the league + the fewest things to celebrate.....and it makes you start to believe in conspiracy theories. #OnlyMyTeams Plus in the NFC so they have 9 road games this year. Yeah its incredibly difficult and seems almost punitive. But hey Fields develops by facing some tough competition, Bears record isn't good enough to keep Nagy, not a bad outcome. This is hopefully just the doom boner Bear fan in me, but Fields develops nicely, Bears go 6-10, front office reflects on the schedule and the upside of Fields, attaches the Fields progress to Nagy and forgives him the record...and brings him back. I feel like this is possible.
  21. I hope we get these Ravens and not the 6-2 Ravens.

    NFL Week 9

In retrospect, we should probably have known all along the league's COVID-19 policies were PR window dressing. We're just now seeing that reality. They aren't going to let one of their biggest stars sit the bench, nor are they going to severely penalize one of their most popular franchises. Not over COVID-19.
  23. I think it's TBD if theyre a package deal. I could easily see where Pace is back, in which case I'm sure he'll have full authority to make a move at HC, and I'm sure he would. It's just hard to envision any scenario where Nagy is back. Whether they wait it out til the bitter end or not though, is unknown. I know decisions certainly not made using logic at Halas Hall but I cant believe they would keep Pace. It's his 6th year and the team has holes all over, is cap strapped and little draft capital. It's great that he got Fields, but you need to take advantage of his rookie contract and the guy that wastes ridiculous amounts of resources is not the guy to do that. Just spit balling here, but I could see the McCaskeys seeing Fields' success as an indicator of Pace's success and keeping him around for awhile longer. We will just have to see what happens.
  24. Idk, I think Nagy would need to show success in the playoffs this year to stick around, at the very least make the playoffs Never underestimate the McCaskeys capacity to settle on mediocre leadership.
  25. Jeebus. I'm going to stop watching this stuff, it's driving me crazy and isn't going to do any good.
