  1. Yeah they mentioned it on the broadcast, but the best visiting kicker to have in that situation is probably Gould.
  2. Wow. It’s one of those things where you have this weakness and it is covered up all season but rears its ugly head at the most critical moment.
  3. Holy crap PLVA knows his Packers, no question about that.
  4. Jimmy is going to throw a pick 6. Can’t just keep getting away with late floaters to the sideline.
  5. Oh Jimmy G Jimmy G nonono…
  6. Really good to see Henry back.
  7. Another hard pass for me, nope, nope, nope, I'm good with Daboll, Flores, Caldwell even McDaniels, Frazier would be a typical Bear mistake. He’s got to be a favorite for the job now, I keep seeing nuggets to that effect and it makes sense to me just from a Bears MO standpoint. I guess best case is Lovie Mach 2? I’d be very interested in whether he comes to the interview with a plan for OC or if it’s just “your defenses are awesome, we are the Bears, we love defense,” yada yada. I’m with you, it feels like typical Bears wrong-headed thinking to me.
  8. i dont remember that, what was it about? Before the season in a season preview piece he said he'd eat his laptop if the 2005 Bears won the NFC North. https://sports.yahoo.com/news/read-react-last-call-020000907--nfl.html I definitely remember that.
  9. It makes sense if he didn't have much control in MIA that he would want that now, and of course he wants a great QB, everyone does, but he's going to have to develop one, and he came from the other side of the ball in NE. I don't know. I don't want to pre-judge him but after starting 1-7 in his 3rd year, AGAIN after doing the same in his first year? I don't think it's all that shocking for a team to move on from that. Keeping in mind, that 1-7 start featured losses to JAX and ATL in back-to-back weeks.
  10. Can someone explain the excitement over Flores? I don't know much about him (don't watch a ton of Fins football) but I see a coach who didn't do all that well in 3 seasons. Those 0-7, 1-7 starts concern me, for sure.
  11. Jeebs was thinking this would be competitive.
  12. Is there any indication that Frazier would be able to bring in a solid OC? If he’s really a top candidate then it comes down to whether he can secure the other side of the ball. I mean, yeah I would rather not have a defense first HC but it’s possible for a DC to succeed @ HC, and even have a solid offense. Just look at Sean McDermott. He comes from a purely defensive background but wound up with a successful QB who needed development, and an OC who is at the top of everyone’s list. I’ll bet there were Bills fans who weren’t thrilled with the hire because he didn’t come from an offensive background.
  13. I think the 49ers have a good chance of knocking off GB Gotta play the games on the schedule and they went out and won, but the Packers haven’t played a good QB in almost 2 months. The last good QB they played was 11/28 against an injured Stafford in a cold Lambeau. Not saying Jimmy G is necessarily good or can’t be horrible. QBs the Packers have played since Thanksgiving, starting week 18. Goff, Mannion, Baker, Huntley, Fields, an injured Stafford in cold Lambeau. 4 of those 6 games were 1 score games too That's a good callout. We shall see! I was at the Browns game BTW. If not for Baker's ugly-ass performance, there's a more than solid chance that the Browns win that game.
  14. I think the 49ers have a good chance of knocking off GB Would I ever love that. Certainly possible but I don't think so.
  15. My understanding is the 22 sexual assault allegations are still outstanding with no clarity on any kind of resolution, although someone apparently leaked that Watson is open to a settlement (in ONE of the cases, not all). My god, what would it say about the Bears if they did this? I just don't know if I can be onboard with it. It's more than a PR hit for me. It's: do I want to be a Bear fan anymore.
  16. So the Bears interviewed both Joe Schoen for GM and Brian Daboll for HC, and I’ve seen some unconfirmed stuff floating around that it might be a package deal, where Schoen goes to the team that says he can hire Daboll or vice versa. Based on the game yesterday I’m sure Daboll has jumped at or near the top of everyone’s list, so he will probably have the luxury of more than one suitor to choose from.
  17. Nickelodeon is doing their kid broadcast again of SF/DAL lol Gobs of slime just poured on to the field.
  18. This is certainly looking like another blowout playoff game.
  19. Seriously can you imagine a better way to walk into an interview?
  20. For a while there I was thinking overtime, which I would have enjoyed. But yeah, Burrow is set to be a star for years to come.
  21. The Pats aren’t even playing. Everything is working for the Bills right now.
  22. Nagy is/was obviously terrible, there must have been some evidence of his deficiencies prior to hire? No? Really, does lend credence to the belief that Nagy was brilliant in the interview room but, unfortunately, not so much where it really counted - in the football room. If so much weight is put on the interview as opposed to the body of work I do not know if they'll get it correct. Why can't McCaskey just be removed from the equation? nagy had just presided over an offense wherein the chiefs were one of the best deep ball throwing (or best?) teams in the league with alex smith and got nothing but praise heaped on him by andy reid. he said he'd never had a better head coaching candidate on one of his staffs. the biggest on field red flag would've been the chiefs playoff game. but andy took the bullet for him on that one, IIRC. it was unclear when reid had him calling plays and when he called them himself that season. but he was one of the hottest young candidates around. Really makes me wonder how the Bears can parse out the "hot" candidates - which are many - and the future successful ones. There's got to be more than luck involved. Otherwise it kind of sucks, knowing that we keep rolling the dice over & over hoping not to crap out again. I mean we hired Nagy from one of the respected coaching trees in the NFL, he came from an offensive background, a lot of experience with quarterbacks, and like you said it was thought to be a solid hire at the time. And the first year looked good too. Maybe it's that he only had 1 year at the OC level, and needed more time before making the jump to HC. I don't know. In the end he wound being dog ugly terrible. But I could never have pegged that on day 1.
  23. I seem to remember a game where it sure looked like Foles said horsefeathers it and just started running his own offense through pre-snap calls. Or maybe it was the time they were driving in the hurry up and Nagy called timeout and completely upended the momentum. The guy was a terrible coach.
  24. Yeah I watched last night for the first time. Unfortunate but I still enjoyed seeing them. Not sure I'll make Friday. Plus you forgot the Grizzlies game Monday.
  25. He checks some boxes, especially on the Fields front.
