That's something a lot of people ignore - Vince has never had a good (or even decent) crop of receivers. Of course a QBs numbers will be mediocre if he has nobody to throw the football to. Scaife has been his best option since he came into the league, that's not good. As I said earlier in either this thread or the Week 1 thread, Vince's numbers compare favorably to Steve McNair's after two seasons starting. And McNair had the luxury of sitting on the bench for two seasons that Vince never did. When you receivers that can't separate you have problems. How well does Collins do with them? The receivers can separate decently well - they just have problems catching the ball when they do. Kerry makes better throws than Vince, so he tends to do a little better. Still, though, he has to rely on the short dumpoffs and running game to have any success. Given his better accuracy, though, he'll tend to hit one or two more deep balls than Vince will. Again, that's when the receivers actually catch the ball, though. Last year in six games played, Kerry had a 61% comp %, 6.5 yards per attempt and no TDs or picks (82 attempts). Vince had a 62.3% and 6.7 y/a with a 9:17 TD:INT (382 attempts). Ah, the drops. I would imagine that Vice throws the ball a heck of a lot harder than Kerry does and imo that makes a bad receiver even worse, unless it gets caught in his facemask. I'm actually not sure on the speed of the QBs passes, but I'd have to assume you're right. Kerry might have a stronger arm than Vince, though. The biggest difference between the two is that Kerry throws a more accurate ball. Vince is generally a little high, or a little behind, etc. whereas Kerry is usually fairly spot on with his throws. The receivers still find ways to drop his passes too, though. Vince had at least three to four well-thrown balls against Jacksonville dropped by the receivers. And it's like that every game for him. It's one reason I didn't like the Chris Johnson pick at the time - I knew he was a great player, but we needed somebody who could catch the ball consistently. Chris runs lots of plays from the RB position.
