  1. I really, really hate these stupid roughing the passer penalties. I can understand protecting the QBs, but jeez, defenders can't hit a QB anymore it seems. And because of the penalty, Adrian Peterson gets another chance to run in for the TD and keep this a game.
  2. Georgia threatening to to get back in the game against Bama. A touchdown drive followed by a punt return for a TD has the Dawgs down 31-17. Alabama is driving inside the Georgia 30, though.
  3. Not much new to say today - Tennessee's offense still sucks worse than most and the defense is still quite good. Auburn should not be ranked in the top 15-20, though. They are a slightly better version of Tennessee right now. I also think it may be time to make a change at QB. Crompton is talented, but has no field vision whatsoever and his best decisions are highly questionable. Not sure which way Fulmer should go (which is why I'm not completely sold on benching Crompton), but I might lean a bit toward Gerald Jones. If he can throw the ball at all he very well might be better than Nick Stephens or B.J. Coleman.
  4. Wasn't the best call, but I didn't mind it that much. USC was watching the middle, so Oregon State tried a curve ball. USC was too fast, though. USC was watching the middle the whole first half. They have too much lateral speed and the blocking gets much tougher when you trying to get it outside. I just doubt the run up the middle would have worked again from nearly 2 yards back. You may be right though.

  6. 21 will not win this game. That's what I'm afraid of.
  7. It appears the USC defense has flicked the switch on. Hopefully the 21 points are enough for OSU. They probably won't get much more.
  8. I would never, ever go with a Cowboys/Redskins game in survival football. Dallas may win by 50, but there's far too great a chance that Washington pulls out a win.
  9. Which USC grad isn't obnoxious? I never heard of Neil Armstrong being obnoxious. He may be by default, though.
  10. They mentioned on the halftime show that this is the biggest deficit USC has faced since trailing Oregon State 33-10 in a 2006 game the Trojans lost. :D
  11. this was my dilemma as well. All the "lock" games had the better team on the road, which smells like a trap to me I went with OMC's Saints over San Fran this week. The Saints are at home and are more talented than the 49ers. I'm debating switching to a Norv Turner coached team on the road, though. That shows how few lopsided matchups there are this week.
  12. USC has had a game or two like this literally almost every single year Pete Carroll has been their coach. In all honesty, I don't think Carroll is that good of an in-game coach. He's an awesome recruiter in an awesome recruiting state and normally simply beats other teams to a pulp with vastly superior talent. When somebody challenges him, though, he's often unable to respond well.
  13. As much as I wanted to vote for Blanco, I decided to give DeRosa his first vote. I think the main stars will all be good, but some extremely valuable - yet underrated - production will come from DeRosa if we're successful.
  14. Buffalo over St. Louis San Diego over Oakland Denver over Kansas City Those three all look pretty safe to me. I'd say Jacksonville at Houston to...I know Jacksonville hasn't been what we thought they'd be, but Houston's offense is just abysmal Houston has the potential to be pretty solid offensively though. Schaub's a good QB and he has an elite weapon in Andre Johnson. I was also impressed with Steve Slaton. Schaub struggles with staying composed in a pass rush, though, and that will ultimately be the Texans' downfall Sunday. St. Louis, Oakland and KC are just downright bad, though. Agreed...And Jacksonville has one of the best so for at least another week that Texans offense is going to struggle still Slaton could have a big day against Jacksonville's pass rush. The Jags aren't the fastest defense out there, and if Slaton has a big day the Texans could threaten for a win. He could, but personally I'm still not convinced he'll be that good. I really didn't even think he'd be playing I thought id be Garrett Wolfe esque . He's a little guy and played in a system with a great QB. Who knows though he could be legit and he'll run all over the Jag's D like you said 116 yards and a touchdown against a faster Titan defense bodes well for him. I was a bit skeptical myself, but he looked good against the Titans. I don't think he'll be a star, but he's got a shot at being a fast, complement back.

  17. It really is funny at this point. All I can do is laugh also. It's ridiculous enough that he's considering firing a coach like Kiffin, but this is becoming a circus.
  18. Over/under percentage that Lane Kiffin actually really gets fired Monday if Oakland loses Well it's a 100% guarantee it will be talked about regardless of how the Raiders do but I'm saying a 60% chance he gets fired if they lose. Hell, there's probably a 20% chance or so that Davis fires him during the game. Oh yeah, it's a definite it'll be talked about. I just find it funny that after every game so far this year, there's been a story that Al Davis is just about to fire Lane Kiffin - and yet it hasn't happened so far. It is pretty amusing. I actually bought the first couple of stories (thanks to the known idiocy of Al Davis), but when it popped up again this past Monday, I just laughed.

  21. The only football that holds any meaning to me this season. I like the Titans' chances against the Vikings. I doubt LenDale will have much success at all against the stout Minnesota run defense, but if they get a little creative with CJ, he could do a lot of damage to that Minny secondary. I'm watching Kerry Collins closely in this game. He looked pretty decent Sunday against the Texans and this is a weaker secondary than he faced last week. Hopefully Justin Gage will be healthy to give Kerry another weapon to throw to. I also expect a good number of either sacks or turnovers by the Titan defense. They've been getting great pressure on QBs so far this year, and I doubt Gus Frerotte will be running away from VandenBosch or Kearse. He'll either get sacked a lot or the ball-hawking D will have chances to pick off some (potentially) hurried throws. Titans win 21-10.
  22. I still say McFadden should have won the Heisman over Tebow last year, but I don't think that makes me delusional in favor of the SEC. :D What people who don't follow the SEC don't know is that Tim Tebow is an incredibly overrated player. Not to mention he's just about the only offensive player Urban Meyer will trust with the ball (even tho he does have Percy Havin). The simpliest truth is the Darren McFadden has been the SEC best offensive player for 2 yrs in a row, an you can make the case he's been college football best offensive player for 2 yrs. In other words.....McFadden was last yr's Heisman Trophy Winner. The only reason why he didn't win it, is because he played for Arkansas, not some school like Florida. As far as being an NFL prospect, I think Tebow may be a bit overrated. He's a terrific college QB, though, and is perfectly suited to the spread option. The problem I have with Tebow winning it last year is that he put up awesome stats with awesome talent. McFadden was the only option on his team (save Felix Jones on occasion) and still put up terrific numbers. I don't think he gets enough credit for carrying Arkansas on his back last season.

  24. What, Ron Powlus not good enough for you?
  25. Perhaps it's a bit of sentimentality, but I had to go with Wood. I'm still hoping that he can record the final out of the World Series. That would be truly amazing.
