  1. Well, so much for that trade. McCargo fails his physical and goes back to the Bills. Ouch, that sucks. Joseph Addai will also be out 2-4 weeks - not a good week for Colt fans so far. At least Bob Sanders should be back soon. . .
  2. Watch out for Washington! The Redskins signed Shaun Alexander today. Actually, this isn't a bad move. Ladell Betts is out, so Alexander could potentially be a decent backup to Clinton Portis. I'm not sure there's a better option out there, in any case.
  3. I seesawed between Dunn and Furcal, but settled on Dunn. Hendry and Lou have made it known they want a LH power bat in the middle of the order and will sacrifice some defense to get it, which points right at Dunn.
  4. I pretty much knew it wasn't going to happen, but I was really hoping the Titans would pull off some type of a Housh for a 2nd round pick deal. Obviously never happened, but it would've made me very happy. I was hoping for Tony Gonzalez for the Packers. Too bad Thompson doesn't believe in trading any kind of draft pick. But its instances in like what Dallas did that make me happy he's not a total idiot when it comes to overspending. The more I think about that deal, the more I don't really understand why they gave up so much for him. Sure they locked him up long-term and yeah Roy Williams is a good wideout, but nothing in his game makes me scream that he's an elite wideout. I just think for a 1st, a 3rd, a 6th, and a 7th, you better be getting a freakin' superstar with all those draft picks you're giving up. I kept hearing rumors that the Titans were interested in Tony Gonzalez, but never really understood it. We've got Alge and Bo Scaife, so even though Gonzalez would have been an improvement over those two, it wouldn't be enough for the third rounder that I was hearing. Fisher just isn't really a fan of wide receivers, I don't think. It's almost like he's avoiding going after any.
  5. This should be a fairly easy win for the Titans, but I'm not expecting anything. The Chiefs are not a very good team and the Titan defense should be able to take the ball away from Kansas City's offense with fair regularity. That said, it is at Arrowhead and there is a tough stretch coming up for Tennessee over the next four weeks after this game. I think the Titans win, but it'll be a little closer than it ought to be.

  7. Kentucky wide receiver Dicky Lyons Jr. (what a name) will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury. I'd say this hurts pretty badly for a Kentucky offense trying to improve from a less than spectacular start to the year. He was their #1 guy and a senior.
  8. about damn time. i think it was becoming pretty inevitable this year, but that team has been a perennial underachiever. Yeah, I've been a little surprised it hasn't happened before this year. This season had to do it, though. This team is talented enough to be a top 10 team if not a serious national championship contender and yet, they got demolished by Alabama and lost to Wake Forest.
  9. This year's Patriots is a perfect example of why you need at least a decent backup QB no matter who your starter is. Cassell was completely unproven in any way when they drafted him (he was a career backup at USC, keep in mind) and has proven to be - at least to this point - worthy of that label. He still has time to improve since he's likely badly in need of work after barely playing the past 6-7 years, but the Pats are going to struggle to do anything in the playoffs if this is his best effort this year.
  10. The defense misses Tom Brady. Actually a lot of people predicted a huge letdown by the D this year. With Samuel and Colvin leaving, it was bound to be weaker than last year's team. Losing Brady has actually hurt the defensive effort as well. Sounds strange, but give me a chance here. Cassel turned the ball over twice in situations where Brady almost certainly would not have. I'm pretty sure the Chargers turned those into 10 points - meaning there's a good chance if Brady is in there, you could deduct all or most of those points. Also, Brady is much, much better at putting together long drives than is Cassel. The longer the drives by an offense, the less the opposing offense gets the ball. Oh I completely agree. I figured that was the most obvious answer. Ah, my bad. Couldn't tell if you were serious or joking about the defense missing Brady.

  12. Truth They're not the Charger powder blues, but they're pretty awesome. I don't like the Jets' regular unis, by the way.
  13. For fans of utterly inept offenses, the Tennessee/Mississippi State game is definitely for you. I don't think it'll reach the depths of Auburn 3 Miss St 2, but there's not going to be much firepower, I don't think. Tennessee 17 Miss St 3 Nick Stephens connects on a deep bomb to Denarius Moore for one TD and the defense gets a turnover for the other.
  14. Clinton Portis run of (I think) a yard or two.
  15. Yea, it's great that the Colts decided to play like they're capable a couple weeks before the Titans get them. :banghead:
  16. There are people wearing Ravens uniforms, I can confirm that much. Now, as far as who those people are . . .
  17. Yea, my fantasy teams are pretty much crap at this point, so I was hoping survival football would do well. But if the Redskins lose to the freaking Rams, I'm done.
  18. Les Miles on his defense: "In the first half, it was a little toughy." :-)) 20-7 Florida at halftime, LSU gets the ball out of the break.
  19. OH SHI- At least Arkansas will have Ryan Mallett next year. Yeah, that takes the sting out of that scenario. Odds are that if Mustain hadn't been there in '06, Mallett would've chosen Arkansas over Michigan anyway. That Razorback offense might get a bit scary next year with the young guys coming on and Mallett with a year under Petrino.
  20. Wow, LSU is really looking like Tennessee right now.
  21. OH SHI- At least Arkansas will have Ryan Mallett next year. You mean Michigan. Lots of confusion in this thread.

  23. LSU's making Tennessee's effort against Florida look good. Florida's running all over the Tigers.
  24. Same stuff they always do, namely alcohol-fueled inappropriate sexual misconduct. This occurrence wasn't nearly the entire band, but they have a long tradition of it. They're lucky it hasn't happened more often. Ahhh, that's not surprising. Thanks.
  25. Anybody know why the Wisconsin band was suspended? I keep hearing that they were suspended last week (or so), but I've never heard why.
