  1. Wow, that could have been a great deal for the Browns.... And for me. But clearly the Cleveland QB drama is not quite over yet if they're passing up a deal like that. I struggle to believe the Browns would pass up this kind of deal, and that the Vikings would offer it. The bolded makes me question this whole thing even more.
  2. So far so good for the Titan defense. The Chiefs have looked horrible so far and the Titans are up 3-0.
  3. Gus Johnson is doing the Titans game! :yahoo:
  4. Brad Johnson will start for the Cowboys, but with a slow start, Romo will enter. Interesting.
  5. Ditka and Keyshawn picked the Rams, for what it's worth.
  6. Never fear fellas, the power is back on in Buffalo.
  7. :-)) Sal Paolantonio just reported on ESPN that the Bills/Chargers game might be delayed because of a power outage.
  8. Like I said earlier, there's absolutely no reason the Titans should lose to the Chiefs today. For that reason, though, I'm worried.
  9. Duke'll win it. Just watch. :D
  10. Not sure I've ever seen him defend Tennessee, but that's not surprising. :D
  11. Apparently not.
  12. 17-14 Kentucky 24-20 Ole Miss Beating Clemson is not impressive. They're 3-4. And 41-30 over UGA (31-0 at halftime) Alabama is a very inconsistent team. At their best they're as good as anybody. At their worst, they're that. And even with this domination of Mizzou, I seriously question Texas' defense. They've shut down teams like Rice, UTEP and FAU, but does anybody really think that means anything? They've played two games against real teams, allowing 35 points to OU and 3 points to Mizzou. How good is that defense? yeah, and oklahoma and mizzou have far better offenses than any single team in the sec, what's your point? Most SEC teams, yes. I still think UGA and Bama have good to very good offenses - though worse than the Big XII teams. so, they have better offenses than most sec teams, except they have better offenses than all sec teams? haha. i like you, though. What? Your post makes no sense. Bama and UGA have better offenses than the rest of the SEC, yet likely worse than Texas and OU. Does that wording make you feel better? oh, okay, i said "far better", i forgot about that. but oklahoma and missouri have great offenses. Ahhh, now I see. I think.
  13. I agree with this. No way Bama finishes the year unbeaten. I could easily see them with 2 losses going into their bowl game. Very possible. They still have LSU and Florida and even Tennessee or Auburn could give them a little fight (defensively at least).

  15. 17-14 Kentucky 24-20 Ole Miss Beating Clemson is not impressive. They're 3-4. Alabama beat Clemson when they were the 9th in the nation. This revisionalist argument has got to stop. You can't fault Alabama for Clemson for sucking after that game. As for Kentucky and Ole Miss this two teams are very good, on the rise SEC teams that have really good defenses. This teams can beat any team in football. Kentucky and Ole Miss are quality oppenents that Alabama has beaten, and by the end of the yr BOTH will be playing in good size bowl games. i almost feel like printing this post out just so i can read it every day for a good laugh what terrible logic (not to mention english) The funny thing is the SEC gets more accusations of cheating than any other conference in NCAA, with probably the most coming from Bama. Not to mention Saben has had his share of that, and is easily the biggest pimp of a head coach in the nation. If he stays more than 2 more years at Bama I will be shocked. Not sure where he'd go at this point, but I tend to agree that Saben likely doesn't have more than 2-4 more years at Bama. He'll eventually move on like he has from every other job.

How good is that defense? They played a great game at Georgia, no doubt. That doesn't mean that they're all of a sudden a great team. I'm sorry, but they wouldn't be able to hang with OU, Texas, USC or Florida. And I don't see the evidence to back that up (especially USC and UF).

Probably, but it the likelihood is that it wouldn't be a complete blowout.
  19. Like fans of other conferences (coughsBig12coughs) don't overrated their conferences? Please SEC fans are not the only ones who overrate their conference. SEC football is real football, Big 12 football is Arena Football. i'm not a big12 fan, but id' say they overrate their teams. however, they do not share the same insanity as sec fans, see above. Most Tennessee fans haven't thought we'd make it to the national title game in a few years. I was very high on this team, even saying they could be a top 15 team, but acknowledged we'd likely lose 2-3 games at least. I ended up being very wrong, but after an SEC Championship appearance, was I really that out of line? And I wouldn't willingly overrate Bama. I'd love to talk about how horrible Bama is. It would make me happy.

  21. They are good. Texas is better. Utter domination better? I haven't seen much to make me think it. Texas would likely win and very well could demolish Bama, but it's far from a certainty.
  22. I'm confused as to what Bama needs to do to be respected. Complete domination of Georgia and Clemson isn't enough for some respect? I hate Alabama and really hate defending them, but this is a very good team.
  23. Touchdown Lennon Creer!!!! 33-3 Tennessee pending Lincoln's extra point. Miss State player (Jasper I think) is hurt.
  24. Beat Bama. Is that game in Knoxville? Yes, and not likely. Alabama plays better on the road right now....Tennessee couldn't beat Auburn, so I doubt they'll beat Alabama. But this is the SEC so who knows... I don't think Alabama is that great. Texas, PSU, USC, OU, and UF would blast them I think. Obviously I have to disagree.. But the feeling I get is that you don't watch Alabama too much, do you? I will admit Alabama isn't great simply because of their youth, but they are a really good team. The biggest concern I have with Alabama is that they don't play a COMPLETE game. They play 48 mintues, or 30 mintues, but not a 60 mintues game. And while I could see Alabama losing to any or all of them, but Alabama can beat any or all them also. But I promise none of those teams would "blast" Alabama. That I would guarantee. Actually I've seen quite a bit of Alabama. The only game that I haven't seen on TV was againts Tulane, I believe. What I see is a very athletic team that is extremely strong along the lines but is held back by youth and a very mediocre quarterback. I'm also not crazy about their offensive play calling--it can be very vanilla (this is not necessarily a bad thing because their pro style attack has and will continue to attract NFL calber athletes). They run effectively but it doesn't turn into an especially potent play action attack. You can have a very vanilla offense if you're talented enough and Bama is. Sometimes a great coordinator can out-think himself and hurt the team. I haven't seen anything from Bama to make me think they don't have the talent to keep with Texas, UF, OU or anybody else.

I agree on the lack of a complete game by Bama, but I think youth plays a huge part in that. Most of the games with the second half struggles have been in halftime blowouts (UGA and Ole Miss in particular). That's usually a sign of young players getting a big lead and settling down and not going quite as hard. I suspect it wouldn't happen nearly as much (if at all) with a close game at the half.
