  1. That's nonsense. It's one thing to leave for greener pastures in the middle of a contract, but to interview again immediately after taking a job shows a complete lack of credibility. He's probably just trying to get a raise from the Bears so they can ensure they keep him.
  2. After firing WR coach James Lofton, the Raiders have replaced him with quality control coach Sanjay Lal. The Chargers have also made a lot of coaching moves, but alas, none involve firing Norv Turner.
  3. man if that is true that's pretty embarrassing for meyer. a coach shouldn't completely revise his offensive game plan to get his quarterback to stick around for one more year, and to pump up that player's nfl draft stock. What if they ran an offense more like the one he ran with Chris Leak. Is that really a revision or was the Tim Tebow offense a revision from the one he ran when he got to Florida. Meyers has proven to be pretty flexible with his offense. I think this is a strength more than weakness. Well they won the NC with what they ran this year so I wouldn't change anything. And I can't see Meyer leaving for Notre Dame. At this point Florida is the better program and has more prestige. ND is his "dream job" though. I could see him leaving Florida with the desire to build Notre Dame back up to what it once was.

Meyers has proven to be pretty flexible with his offense. I think this is a strength more than weakness. Meyer tweaked his normal offense to cover the limitations of Chris Leak (he wasn't athletic enough to run the true spread option). What he's run with Tebow the past couple of years has been the "true" Urban Meyer spread option.
  5. The big question now for USC is the future of quarterback Mark Sanchez. He is expected to return for his senior season, but that decision could be altered if Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford announces he is turning pro before Thursday's deadline. NFL analysts project Sanchez could be the No. 2 quarterback taken in the draft behind Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford if Bradford stays in college. They really project Sanchez over Bradford? I haven't seen much about it him in the mock drafts I've seen, but what are the odds he goes pro? I haven't seen anybody project Sanchez over Bradford. If anything, most mocks have Bradford going before Stafford and Sanchez not even in the top 10. Careful before you pounce. Re-read the post. "NFL analysts project Sanchez could be the No. 2 quarterback taken in the draft behind Georgia quarterback Matthew Stafford if Bradford stays in college." Implication is that Sanchez would be #3 if Bradford comes out. Reading can be helpful. I should do it more.

Most say Stafford in the top 10, Bradford somewhere in the middle of the first and then like I said I haven't heard much about Sanchez I've seen more with Bradford top 2-3 (usually Lions), Stafford fringy top 10 and Sanchez all over the first round.
  7. Lots of news out there today, apparently. Here's some more: The Raiders have fired James Lofton, according to the National Football Post.

  9. No clue where to put this since it certainly doesn't merit its own thread, so here it is in this one. BC has named Frank Spaziani as its new head coach.
  10. Eric Mangini has chosen his coordinators in Cleveland.
  11. Apparently, Pioli's hire will likely mean Herm Edwards' departure. Giants DC Steve Spagnuolo is apparently the top candidate.
  12. The National Football Post is reporting that their sources are telling them that Sam Bradford will enter the draft. This is apparently from Jan. 7 and I haven't seen it reported anywhere else - so take it with a grain of salt.
  13. Great move for KC.
  14. The Seahawks are filling out their staff, naming Greg Knapp OC, Casey Bradley DC and Dan Quinn D-line and assistant head coach. I also just saw on ESPN (no link) that the Saints have promoted Pete Carmichael, Jr. to offensive coordinator.
  15. The Jags have shaken up their front office and named Gene Smith their GM.
  16. well the ravens played the steelers very even both games this year, but came up on the short end. i can see the ravens winning this game, with how well their defense is playing right now. it will be a low-scoring slugfest and if the ravens take care of the ball, they can pull the upset. Is the Raven defense really playing that well? They gave up the most yardage of the season to the Titan offense - 391 yards. The same Titan offense that didn't have it's only offensive weapon (Chris Johnson) in the second half. It's a great Raven defense, but it didn't play well at all Saturday night. The only reason the Titans didn't top 20+ points in that game was the incompetence of the Titan offense. It'll be a close, tough game, but if the Ravens don't play dramatically better than they did Saturday, they won't win. I really don't think the Steelers will make as many mistakes as the Titans did.
  17. That's pretty huge. Great news for OU, though. Yeah, he was probably a top 15 pick. dammit, when does Bradford decide? Unless I'm way off here, I think Thursday is the deadline to declare. I could be way off, though.
  18. That's pretty huge. Great news for OU, though. Yeah, he was probably a top 15 pick. Probably the first DT taken, too.

  20. We've got a pipeline in there. Probably going back to the Trooper Taylor days when he had connections out there. Goes back further than that. Marcus Nash was a huge get out of Tulsa in the mid 90's. Nash led to Meachem led to Gerald Jones led to Oku. Tennessee has been in on recruits from OK for years now. Here's hoping that Chaney can keep this up. Huh, forgot that Nash was from Oklahoma.

  22. I'm glad he's coming back. My team is building up a very big, very fast, very smart defense, and now a very versatile defense, that winning another championship for Florida is no guarantee. If I had some, I would put money on LSU/Alabama ending Tebow's dream of another championship in the SEC Championship. Why did you quote this post? It has absolutely nothing to do with what you said... There were posts about Tebow returning all around the post he quoted. I'd say he just hit the "quote" on the wrong post.
  23. He's going to Indiana, he just hasn't told you yet. I've seen this kind of thing before. Do the Hoosiers want another Eric Gordon?
  24. I'd be shocked if any of the Colt coaches leave. Jim Caldwell is being promoted from within (it appears) and I'd assume he'd keep the same style on both sides of the ball.
  25. Tennessee's rebounding nicely after losing a top 10 class when Fulmer was booted. Lane Kiffin has gotten a commitment from Eric Gordon and he and Orgeron are pushing extremely hard for Marlon Brown. Those two, plus David Oku, Toney Williams, Jerrod Askew, James Green and DJ Hunter should make this a nice class.
