  1. Lane Kiffin kicked Ramone Johnson and EJ Abrams Ward off the team today for disciplinary reasons. Sucks to see EJAW gone, but glad to see that discipline is a higher priority for Kiffin and Co than it was for Fulmer. Last year's recruiting class is a GIANT TURD at this point. Things are apparently changing alot around UT.
  2. Ok, you get Oakland.

I heard they were probably going to go. And yes, the class has been crap so far.
  4. I'm sure you already know this, but you have us switched. Yeah, of course I knew that already. :ninja: Yeah, and I don't collect Death's Head moths... It sounds like a fun past time, at least. If you did that, I mean.
  5. As concerned as I am about Harvin's ability to stay healthy, I'd like this pick.
  6. Do the chefs have a coaching staff yet? No idea who the Chefs are, but the Chiefs have yet to officially terminate Herm Edwards. That said, the rumors are flying that he'll go either this year or next. Awesome commercial.

  9. Planning on taking a QB?
  10. Ok, I've got you for Washington and jame.gumb for SF. I guess I should mention that I'm only available during business hours. The day of or the day before, just PM your top 5 picks in order. Yeah jame, you can send them to me or someone who will be around when your pick comes up and we'll get them selected.
  11. Go to hell. Calm down Raisin, there can be more than one per team. I don't want Raisin's help, he would take Michael Johnson (aka John Thierry). I expect an all-UK draft class from you Ping.
  12. Yeah, figured I'd jump on them quick. You can give input if you'd like, though. I botched up last year's terribly, after all.

  15. NOTE: Due to the changes in the first round of the draft, we've chosen to do a second version of the mock draft with the updated draft status. The originally completed four rounds will remain in spoiler tags and the new rounds will be labeled as Mock 2.0 and will be in this thread. We did this last year and it was (generally) fairly successful, I thought. It took some time, however, and a lot of posters missed their turn, so we're going to have to be prompt with our selections. Basically, the premise is this: 1. We'll need at least one person for each of the 30 teams. 2.The first person will be the person of record for that team, but it might be fun to have a bit of a "war room" type of activity. We'll limit War Rooms to five per team. 3. War Rooms participants should share IM names and might want to form a private chat room to discuss their selections. It is reccommended that War Rooms take a vote on picks after the discussion and allow the person of record make the pick. If a consensus cannot be reached, the first person to sign up for each team will make the final decision. (Idea and wording courtesy of vance_the_cubs_fan) 4. Picks will be made in real-time, with a set amount of time between picks. After that time ends, a pick will be made for that team - much like the actual draft itself. Each slot will have 24 hours to make a pick. Posters can double and triple up if there's a need - I'd like to have more than one for most, if not all, the teams out there. We've still got plenty of time to get this thing going, though we should start pretty promptly after the combine ends. If anybody has any suggestions, post in this thread or you can PM me. If you want to take one of the teams, post it in here or PM me and I'll update the list. This is now the official draft order. ROUND 1 ROUND 2 ROUND 3 ROUND 4 ROUND 5 1. Seattle (from Detroit): Stephen McGee, QB, Texas A&M 2. Atlanta (from St. Louis): Shawn Nelson, TE, Southern Miss 3. Kansas City: 4. Chicago (from Denver): 5. Philadelphia (from Cleveland): 6. Cincinnati: 7. Atlanta (from Oakland): 8. Jacksonville: 9. Green Bay: 10. San Francisco: 11. Buffalo: 12. San Diego: 13. Denver: 14. Washington: 15. NY Giants: 16. Houston: 17. Philadelphia (from NY Jets): 18. Chicago: 19. Tampa Bay: 20. Dallas: 21. Philadelphia: 22. MInnesota: 23. Philadelphia (from NE): 24. St. Louis (from Atlanta): 25. Miami: 26. Baltimore: 27. Carolina: 28. NY Giants: 29. Indianapolis: 30. Dallas (from Tennessee): 31. Arizona: 32. Pittsburgh: Compensatory: 33. Pittsburgh: 34. New England: 35. San Francisco: 36. Dallas: 37: Tennessee:
  16. yeah i'd like to do it again but let's do it with regular posters. i don't want to have some guy who posts once a year doing the draft for the 49ers because he's a 49er fan, and then setting things back for days because he rarely visits the site. if people have to double or triple up so be it. I'll go ahead and make a thread and if the teams fill up then we'll do it.
  17. Yes, I admit Willis isn't as good of a recruiter of Thompson, but Willis is still a very good recruiter in his own right. When you are trying to sell Auburn to recruits, your job is difficult. Now imagine the kind of success he should have selling Alabama to recruits? Willis IS leaps and bounds better coach then CLT. McClain and Hightower made CLT look good with their play, but the reality of the situation is, CLT coaching ability is what is being questioned. I'm not trying to spin this in any way, this is from my perspective from following college football in Alabama. James Willis is better then Thompson, take it whatever you want, but that doesn't change the fact that LT is a great recruiter, average coach, and Willis is a good recruiter, good coach. Lane Kiffin hired CLT to get him back into Alabama for recruiting, in one swift move, Nick Saban has effectively block Tennessee from coming into Alabama. I'm still not seeing an upgrade from Thompson to Willis. Your grades of A+C for Thompson are equal to your grades of B+B for Willis. By your statements, Thompson is a better recruiter and Willis is a better coach, but neither are significantly better. You forgot that changing colors from orange to crimson is worth an additional few points and changing from crimson to orange is worth a deduction of several. B+B+crimson is an A. A+C+orange is a C. Come on, dew, simple Bammer math here. Sorry man, I forgot. :-))

  19. is that what he's doing? I have no idea who anyone he's talking about is or does CLK = Coach Lane Kiffin CNS = Coach Nick Saban CLT = Coach Lance Thompson CJW = Coach James Willis I think that covers everybody. Not sure where that comes from, but I've seen it as well on some college football boards I've perused.
  20. on the other hand, oher falling to the eagles at #28 would be extremely awesome. That'd probably be the steal of the draft.
  21. Last year for the draft we had an NSBB mock draft that we started to prepare for around now. Is anyone interested in doing it again? Or was it just too much trouble last time? Here's the thread where Vance started it last year, if anyone's interested.
  22. I bet you were saying the same thing during the Iron Bowl, too, huh? James Willis is HIGHLY thought of as both a recruiter and a coach. James Willis would have won some recruiting battles had he not been going against EXLT and CNS. http://auburntigers.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/willis_james00.html Simple truth, not only did Alabama find a more then satisfactory replacement for CLT as a recruiter, then also landed a much better LBer coach in James Willis. All in all Alabama upgrade from Lance Thompson to James Willis. Here is what separates you (and nearly all Bammers I have ever met) from everyone else in the real world: the ability to be reasonable and admit that not everything is going Bama's way. For all the anti-SEC rhetoric and vitriol, nearly every Big 10 fan here admits when their team sucks, as do fans of Big 12 teams, Pac 10 teams, and yes, even dew and I with Tennessee. But, not so the delusional Bammer. Every move made is an upgrade for Bama. You want to give Willis credit for being a good recruiter, in spite of the fact that Auburn (according to Bammers like yourself) hasn't really recruited well in years. Not only that, but you give him credit for being a satisfactory replacement for Thompson, who was the Recruiter of the Year per Rivals last year. So, no, you did NOT upgrade. Then you want to give Willis credit for being a good LB coach, and an upgrade over Thompson. Let's see, Willis benefitted from coaching on a staff with a great defensive minded head coach. Thompson benefitted from coaching on a staff with a great defensive minded head coach. Hmmm... something seems oddly similar about those two scenarios. AT BEST, it looks like a lateral move on Bama's part. So, a step down in recruiting, and a lateral move on the coaching staff. How again is this an upgrade? Also, if I'm reading the initials correctly, RedFlash even admitted that Willis would have won some recruiting battles if he weren't going against Lance Thompson. For him to be an overall upgrade, Willis better be leaps and bounds better at coach LBs than Thompson since, by RedFlash's own admission, Willis is not as good a recruiter as Thompson.
  23. Air Force has extended Head Coach Troy Calhoun for five more years. Calhoun is an intriguing coach who I was glad Tennessee showed some interest in. I can't imagine him lasting the entire contract without getting a bigger job (of course, I also though Turner Gill was sure to get a better job this year, as well).
  24. I've actually tried to figure it out myself. She's not very attractive and is pretty much just skin and bones. And who's her brother?
  25. I retract my previous statement. I didn't realize he had that many stats better than Ryno. Kent should definitely be a Hall of Famer.
