  1. Why do you think that? He really doesn't have good hands, and we don't need ANOTHER fast WR who can't catch. Sure he has a lot of potential, but I think it'd be a terrible first round pick when there will surely be better bets at other positions of need available. He's inconsistent catching the football, but I don't think he has bad hands or anything. Everything I've heard says he has decent, but inconsistent hands that should improve with a little time. Given his terrific speed, size, athletic ability and potential, I don't think decent hands are enough to make him a brutal pick. I'd still take a more refined Maclin or Crabtree over him, but if the best OTs and WRs are off the board, I don't see how he'd be a bad pick. Here's three draft sites' analysis of him:
  2. Why do you think that?
  3. The Lions come to mind immediately. Otherwise, I can't think of any either.
  4. My understanding is that most languages have the "proper" way to say things, but that generally is not the simplest way to say it. So, they find easier ways to say things even if they're not truly "proper" by the book.
  5. By the technical English form, her way is right. Problem is, like others have said here, it's highly antiquated and hardly ever used anymore.
  6. Something tells me Davis didn't beat Parcells. If this guy is a former starter on a team like the Dolphins, which went through interior lineman on a weekly basis, he's probably just not good. My understanding is he got injured midway through the year and missed the remainder of the year. The former part may mean that Jake Grove was definitely unseating him, but to my knowledge he was never outplayed for the job. Parcells may know what he's doing here (he deserves the benefit of the doubt), but this seems way too low of a price for a guy who's very talented but a little weak.
  7. That works for me. Rocket and Cincy are now on the clock. I'll PM him.
  8. A strangely great deal pulled off by Al Davis, it appears:
  9. I think they think they did this. Apparantly they feel Bullocks problems were related to the largely man coverage he played in New Orleans and that he'll be fine in a cover-2 scheme. Glenn Earl may also be an option as well. He was a fairy well regarded young safety with the Texans before his injury.
  10. If they had a good line and brought in one good receiver, I think Orton would be fine. The problem isn't really settling on Orton, but not giving him much of anything to work with. Olsen and Hester are his only real weapons. And Forte. I agree he doesn't have the weapons, but I also feel he's not going to be a top level QB regardless. No, he'll never be Manning. But look at Pittsburgh, they win with regularity without a guy at QB who lights it up. Obviously I'd prefer to have a solid franchise QB. But Orton can get the job done if he has better receivers. I don't really consider Forte a weapon in the passing game. It's fine to dump off to the guy every once in a while, but when i'm talking weapon, I mean guys who can get you 10-20+ yards on a somewhat regular basis. The Titans won 13 games last year with Kerry Collins at QB. If the Bears' running game and defense are strong enough, Orton can do enough. The key is the defense has to be stellar and the running game has to be very strong. I don't know. I'm getting older and just want to see a Manning-type era once in Chicago. Just once. I think it would be bombastic. The whole city would be on fire with Bears bloodlust. Yeah, the Titans at least had Steve McNair for a few years (no Peyton, but a really good QB) and tried again with Vince. Orton's the best the Bears have had for a while.

  12. IMB! and vance are now on the clock. I PMd them.
  13. That was rude to not let Andy have this one. Good point, I'm sorry. God, that was fun. Jarrett and Green were on the team that went 24-7 two years ago and went to the WNIT, and I know how sweet that must've been for them. I'm still digesting that. And dew, Tennessee had never missed the Sweet 16. :D Not just Sweet 16 but the 2nd round all together. Yeah, that's an amazing run for Pat. Despite the early exit, this team has got a good bit of talent and I think they'll develop all right - they're just incredibly young (the youngest Pat has ever coached, I believe). And congrats Andy. The Ball State girls made history tonight, hopefully they'll carry on further. :)

  15. I know most won't care about this, but the Ball State girls are about to beat the Lady Vols. First time in quite a few years Tennessee's girls have missed the Sweet Sixteen. Crazy.
  16. I kinda wonder why Shields didn't start this inning. He's probably our best bullpen arm.
  17. Thought that might have a chance off his bat.
  18. Yeah, the weather isn't good for hitting too many home runs, especially now as the sun sets. Which isn't good for us - given that we're down 4. From watching the Japanese for three or four games now, they don't appear to have much power, but they're a great group of hitters.
  19. DeRo crushed that ball, but it got hung in the wind.
  20. Good shot from Fuku there. Nothing impressive, but at least it's some sign of life. Oswalt needs to stop the bleeding though.
