  1. I wonder if this is a weird enough situation where it's actually better to have a lesser talented, but fresh player out there instead of a better, but exhausted player?
  2. I guess ya'll are right on multiple viewings. Looked bad in real time, though.
  3. No foul there? Really?
  4. Mmmmmm, Buffalo Wild Wings would be really good right now.
  5. With 1.1 seconds left in a tie game, Syracuse threw the ball the length of the court. At the three point line, a Syracuse player caught it and fired up a three at the buzzer over the hand of a UConn player. The desperation shot went in, but it was reviewed and determined (correctly) that the ball was still just slightly touching his fingertips as the clock hit 00.0. It would have won the game for Syracuse.
  6. No way is that a good shot. It was extremely close. The clock hit triple zeros and the ball was just barely on his fingertips - but it was really, really close. The clock should have started earlier, though, as the first UConn player actually touched the ball in the air.
  7. I'm falling in love with Ayres. I'd even go as far as to pick him at 18 if I'm the Bears, assuming he's the best DE on the board then and maybe even if Oher is still on the board. I like Sidbury a lot too. I don't know that he'd last all the way to mid-3rd, though. I've pretty much committed to wanting the Bears to draft DE, OL, WR in any order in the first 3 rounds. Ayers was an absolute stud entering college, but had serious motivation issues (that he'll readily admit to now) his first couple of years at UT. Since getting serious about bettering himself, he's become a really good player. I think the character issues are behind him now and had they never been there, I don't think it's a stretch to think he'd be a top 5 type pick - he's got that kind of talent, I think.
  8. Yeah, I like Ayers better in a 4-3 scheme than a 3-4.
  9. Just keep holding firm to this:
  10. The Pats acquired this pick from San Diego on draft day last year along with a fifth rounder so that the Chargers could take Jacob Hester. That's some awesome long term scouting if they had a player in mind last year that they wanted to take in this year's draft with that pick. Yeah, they're really good. Actually, I meant the KC pick, which I should know is gone since they picked before my second rounder. Shows how much I'm paying attention... Who's the player, by the way? Connor Barwin. I don't mind saying it now because I know there's no way he'll be there for my third round pick. I wanted him there for my second rounder in case Beatty and English were gone. Sounds interesting, if not a bit raw. As a D-Lineman I'd certainly take Ayers and Gilbert over him, though. A bit raw, but very Vrabel-esque. He'd be a great SAM for their 3-4. I can see it. The rawness may preclude him from the second round, though.
  11. I've started up a fantasy keeper league for anyone still looking for a league to join. It's a head to head league on ESPN with the following stats: AVG H HR SB R RBI OPS OF AST WHIP K SV/HLD ERA W We need a few more, so if anybody's interested, shoot me a PM and I'll send you an invite. Draft date is Monday, March 30, by the way.

  15. I had a mini-panic for a second when I didn't see the message board listed anymore. Yeah, it was momentary shock and fear for me as well. Good job with the front page by the way Tim. It's looking really good.
  16. I PMd ELCABALLO, by the way.
  17. We never really set a limit, so I guess we'll just go until we stop. I don't know how much interest there will be to do the sixth and seventh rounds (or if we'll have time for those), but I suppose we'll just go til we stop.
  18. Well, with no sign of Skyballer for 12 hours now, I'll go ahead and announce his pick. The Giants don't have a great number of needs, but one potentially big need lies at wide receiver. With the Plaxico situation still completely up in the air, it's difficult to use a first round pick on a wide receiver, but the New York offense would be greatly lacking if Burress doesn't play and there's no replacement. So, the time has come to take the proper precautions in case Plax departs from the team. With the 45th pick in the draft, the New York Giants select WR Ramses Barden from Cal Poly SLO. He's a big (6'6), physical receiver who needs development and is a bit raw, but has the ability and potential to be the big target in the red zone the Giant offense is lacking. A young corner also has to be considered here, but there's more depth at corner than there is at receiver right now, so Barden is the pick. Rawaction is now on the clock with Houston's second round selection. I will PM him.
  19. Shore. Bob Marley stirs it up. I wondered which one was right as I was typing it. I say it as "shore" but admittedly I don't know if it's right. Mike Greenberg on Mike and Mike this morning actually said it "sure." You're right; he's wrong. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/shore+up I think I should have said, more accurately, that Bob Marley steers it up. Thanks. I've never looked into it and that's just what I've always said.

  21. I don't know how that's a violation of any type. Far worse has been said and not punished in the past. Kiffin also, for what it's worth, came out and denied every saying that to Jeffrey.
  22. Yeah, I like Unger and Mack quite a bit. I'll be a little bit surprised if either makes it out of the first round in the actual draft. There's a good chance both will be taken as guards before the actual guards are selected.
  23. Alright, Warpticon has been MIA for about 27 hours now, so I guess I'll make the pick. He had mentioned previously that the Dolphins needed to shore up their lines, especially the interior. He said he didn't go that route in the first round because guys at that point would have been a reach. At this point, though, most of those guys are still around, including one who I think is a very good value in the later stages of the early second round. So, with the 44th pick in the draft, the Dolphins select offensive lineman Max Unger from Oregon. Unger was a center with the Ducks, but has the versatility to move out to guard or even tackle. He's big (6'4", 309) and quite athletic. He should at least beef up the Dolphins' depth wherever they would put him, if not start somewhere on the line. Skyballer and I are now up with the next pick. I think I know where he wants to go, but I'll give him some time to make the pick himself. I'll PM him.
  24. Bumping this back to the first page to make sure Warp can see it.
  25. Sorry felllas, had to work late then my internet didn't want to work when I finally got home. EhDubya PMd me his pick in case he wasn't around. Here's what he said. So the pick here is TE Brandon Pettigrew from OK St. I'll PM jame.gumb and CubbieBum.
