  1. Pujols on Glavine's pitching performance... http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/story/461337p-388158c.html I like the guy for his amazing ability and his work with charities, but this crap has always been a problem for him.
  2. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/columnists/cs-061013rogers,1,106019.column?coll=cs-home-headlines Those who support Bochy, also have Phil Rogers in their corner.
  3. A team with those resources and a weak farm system would be better off allocating most of the potential improvement income towards building from within rather than expensive FAs to build up from under 70 wins. They can do both, just appears this team is in a win now mode rather than gradual progression.
  4. The thing that separates Bowden is his maturity both mentally (baseball IQ) and physically. He was built like a man at 17 and threw strikes with all 3 of his pitches (FB, curve, slider).
  5. Do you attend any of their games? I'm just a fan of IHSA baseball in the area as well as some of the local colleges. Did you ever get a chance to see Mike Bowden pitch? Yeah, I watched him out in Aurora at the end of the year. I watched Joe Benson a couple of times last year.

  7. I try to, I'll probably catch some Sunday games next Spring.
  8. I know some of the scouts in area and I'm real close to one, he mentioned Oakton in the past, he mentioned Redmond and one of their OF'ers.
  9. Hey had a kid throwing in the 90's. We beat them 7-5, and 2-0. Overall, they were probably one of the better teams we played, we just played really well against them. I think that kid throwing in the 90s was Cedric Redmond (Cubs draftee), which is why I asked.
  10. That seems alot like the Mill's program. Teaching proper mechanics, and functional strength are Mill's main points in his program. BTW, which JUCOs did you face this Fall?
  11. Found the link.... http://www.nationalpitching.net/campinfo.asp?cno=1615
  12. Baseball7897, if you're interested... Tom House is going to be in Des Plaines a week from tomorrow. I have the link to his website somewhere.
  13. Keeps them guessing, but they're all avg. to below avg. pitches though. He should scrap that curve and the 3/4 delivery. The change is below avg. but should kept as a show me pitch (I counted 1 to Floyd).
  14. Weaver has too many pitches. 4 seamer overhand 4 seam 3/4 2 seam cutter slider curve change
  15. Weaver started dropping his arm angle and got the ball up.
  16. Another good inning by Glavine, would like to see the curve back-doored to RH'ed hitter. It's his worst pitch but it can be a good waste pitch early in the count.
  17. All fastballs mostly low and away and one bad slurve. I don't know how Weaver can throw a strike while rushing and being off-balance at the same time.
  18. Nice pitch sequence throughout the inning and perfect change to K Pujols. I expect him to move the change as the game wears on.
  19. Of course, rolling over changes will keep the score down.
  20. Scouting both at the amatuer and minor/major league levels. Zumaya when he was drafted in the 11th round was overworked in his Senior year and was down to 87-88 after being in the 93-94 early on and his stock dropped. Of course, he got the rest after the HS season ended and his velocity got up to 95-96.
