  1. In all fairness to Mark_R, I have heard some rumors from various sources that the Bulls might trade Gordon in the offseason. Some of those sources are more credible than others, but there does seem to be something possibly happening with Gordon on the horizon. For example, the NY Post or one of those rags said that Pax was going to trade Gordon to the Knicks for one of their "talented guards", but that led to a hilarious response from Paxson who basically ripped the Knicks and that paper a new one for even suggesting that.
  2. Frankly, I'm shocked they got him for so cheap.
  3. I don't think either trade is likely. I'd be shocked to see the Bulls and Knicks make another deal this off season, and, as I've said, I think Isiah only parts with Frye as part of a package for a superstar, like KG. I don't even think the Knicks have the cap space to get a guy like KG at this point. Frye is a nice guy with some upside, but given their current draft pick and talent status, I'm really doubtful as to the Knicks' trading abilities at this point. Isaiah botched things really, really, really badly.
  4. Is it me or does Peter Crouch always look like a kid who just got separated from his mother at the beach?
  5. The MLB draft rules are really bizarre. A gentlemen's agreement exists among all of the teams. While there is no slotting system for picks in terms of salaries, there are still recommended contract amounts for each pick/round. If a team's offer goes over one of those amounts, MLB can send a sternly-worded letter to that team asking them to rescind the offer, which teams can follow or blow off altogether.
  6. Pitcher, although his power is quite alluring.
  7. Quick, assemble every crappy veteran who's played under Baker since he became manager! We can assemble one heck of a roster!!! Cripes, the Cubs alone could field this: RF Troy O'Leary CF Tom Goodwin LF Jose Macias 3B Lenny Harris SS Neifi Perez 2B Damian Jackson 1B John Mabry C Henry Blanco Bench Enrique Wilson Bench Randall Simon Bench Jose Hernandez Bench Paul Bako Bench Todd Hollandsworth SP Glendon Rusch SP Shawn Estes SP SP SP CL LaTroy Hawkins RP Dave Veres RP Cliff Bartosh RP Mike Remlinger RP Mark Guthrie RP Antonio Alfonseca RP Jimmy Anderson We gotta call in the Giants' reserves to fill up those SP holes!

  9. Oh gee, look, Renyel Pinto finally adjusted to AAA! Excuse me while I take an electric drill to my left temple...
  10. Strange how that always happens.
  11. Hey Fred, what are the Cubs' numbers against LHPs this season?
  12. You could promote up to the big league team right now and he'd fit right in. It's only fitting that he's a Cub. ;)
  13. Mark has great stuff, but consistency and command will become his best friends as he moves along.
  14. Tell T2E that the Cubs have Clevenger playing 2B.
  15. Wow. Alfred Joseph nearly pulled a Jeter.
  16. Oooooooooo...pretty colors. ;) One thing I would like to see tracked over this season would be how Pie's IsoD and IsoP have been doing over the course of the season. Also, I'd like to request an analysis of Dylan Johnston.
  17. Where did you read that? That might have been accurate a year ago, but he shed 25 pounds last summer and scouts have reported him having a 40-inch vert. He wasn't invited to the combine so we don't have access to an official measurement on that. NBAdraft.net The Bulls really could use a big man who can play D, so I have to think the pick will be Thomas or Aldridge.
  18. This is getting sad. Also, whoever in the Spanish contingent of fans is waving a Confederate Flag is either being hilariously ironic or disgusting. Either way, he deserves a beating.
  19. Didn't Curt Schilling post there when he was traded to the Red Sox before the 2004 season? Schilling's a known internet junkie who plays games like Everquest. When the Red Sox and Diamondbacks had a deal agreed to in principle, it all hinged on his call since he was a 10/5 guy. So, he went to Sons of Sam Horn late one night and hung out in the chatroom and posted in a few of their threads. Apparently, he was so impressed with the fans that he couldn't help but agree to it.
  20. He's in a major, major, major slump. He's not ready for the Show. Needs another year at least! I wouldn't quite go that far. His walk rate this season has actually been an improvement over past years, which is quite welcome for a player like him. His power has been a bit lacking, but I think he'll get it back given time. He'll adjust to AAA pitching in a reasonable amount of time. A hot streak will get his average back up to where people will want it to be. I think he'll have a good one before the summer is over.
  21. You could do a Mythbusters tie-in. Think of the ratings! And the explosions! Can we get Mark Grace to host it?
  22. Sefolosha seems like an intriguing pick. He could benefit from the new offensively-minded rules in the NBA. Alexander Johnson, on the other hand, is apparently best compared to Othella Harrington. Er...no thanks. I really like Roy, but at the same time, I have to wonder if he'd be available at around 4 or 5. Everyone already knows I love T2, so no need to extrapolate on him. :D
