  1. Aren't there like 12 different heirs who could vie for control of the team? This might be a Denver Broncos type of situation where the NFL might force a sale to keep the team from descending into probate hell.
  2. Seattle has been the speculated trade destination for months. They have surplus young pitching and room in the MIF for Nico.
  3. I'm not quite so worried about the middle tier of the hitters in the system at the moment. There's enough raw talent in the bottom tier that it is not unreasonable to predict at least one of those guys having a breakout season in 2025, and there's currently a backlog of guys in the top tier who are blocked at the major league level, so it's not like there's a desperate need to get Jefferson Rojas up into the majors this season. As we also saw last season, one really good draft can change the complexion of that tier in a hurry. On the other hand, the top to bottom pitching in the minors really bugs me. I know, I know, TINSTAAPP, but things seemed a lot rosier in the pitching department last season compared to now.
  4. I don't care about other QBs regressing or progressing, much less Pro Bowl nods. Just make Caleb as good as he should be next season and ever after, damnit.
  5. Bello was interesting, but he is also the kind of guy who'd need to prove it at every level. The stuff is there for him to be a decent back end of the rotation type, but he's years away from the majors (barring a major uptick in stuff) and, as a result, he runs the standard injury/reliever risk for a guy in his position every year he's not in the majors. It's a good trade for the Cubs.
  6. It also could have been a "Ohtani REALLY likes Toronto!" type of rumor that LV started to cover their rears when they didn't land him.
  7. Remember kids, don't drink and post.
  8. RGIII was on a similar path to Daniels, before injuries wrecked his career. I love what Daniels is doing and want him to keep up this level of play, but nothing's guaranteed in this league.
  9. Part of me is impressed at their gall, part of me is annoyed at how it feels like they're just throwing horsefeathers at the wall.
  10. It would be very much in keeping with this franchise that they end up getting the last play-in spot, get blown out of the water, and then end up with zero picks in what is supposed to be an all-time draft.
  11. I get that McCarthy has a ring and a really good winning percentage, but he just feels like such a milquetoast hire if the Bears go that route. His stint in Dallas was unremarkable and he had the benefit of HOF caliber QBs in Green Bay.
  12. Technically both could apply, but yeah, the account. And you're good. Mistakes happen.
  13. Let's not link to an X account with actual white supremacist trash on it, thanks!
  14. It's also possible the Bears are both cheap and morons. The two are not mutually exclusive.
  15. Conan O'Brien had an interview a number of years ago on this subject. Per Conan, there is an unspoken rule in jokes where something is usually funny the first 3 times you do it, after which point it starts getting old. However, there is also a threshold a joke can cross where the joke can actually become funny again if you keep doing it another 10-15 times, the classic example being: This feels appropriate for the topic and the thread.
  16. Can we also stop linking to X?
  17. No idea, but:
  18. It's like ChatGPT was trained exclusively on Joe Rogan and Andrew Tate, and then unleashed in here as a test run.
  19. Remember, Nagy was seen as a good (albeit not great) hire at the time as an offensive-minded HC who could unlock Trubisky's potential and talent.
  20. The fact that Matt Nagy has received interest from multiple teams fills my cold, dark heart with utter glee. Seeing him paired up with Aaron Rodgers would just be, *chef's kiss*
  21. Makes sense for an organization known for bureaucratic interference and ambiguity, constant indecision, and a foreboding sense of dread that they'll always find a way to screw things up.
  22. Nope. We're still around. Also, I find it hilarious that the Bears are torn between firing and extending Poles. If they think he's been good enough to keep around, then extend him and make an announcement today about it. If they think he's been bad enough to fire him, then horsefeathers do it already. There shouldn't be this abjectly bizarre in-between zone where both things are somehow true for the McCaskeys, and yet here we are.
