  1. The offense the past few weeks has been very depressing to watch.
  2. I mean I don't like Madrigal but what was that strike call?! Even Skenes was laughing when he got that call.
  3. Amaya actually seems to be decent at that (eye test for me anyhow), but wow is Gomes bad at that too.
  4. I know that baserunners have an advantage now in the stolen base department, but I don't know if there is a team in the history of baseball as bad at throwing out attempted basestealers as the Cubs are this year.
  5. Kyle just has so little room for error due to his arsenal. It is truly incredible he has had as much success in his career as he has had. Unless he finds his elite control again, I have little hope for a revival. That makes me very sad to type.
  6. I agree the best player should be playing. But being the best and being the most exciting aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.
  7. Probably the only way you can justify playing him over PCA at the moment. I still would like to see PCA in the lineup. Never know what you will see from him on any given day. That kind of excitement that prime Javy used to provide.
  8. Yeah, I saw that the next time he came up, haha. I was meaning for the season, but I would be ok if he wanted to stay at .260.
  9. Yeah, he was the best bunter I've ever seen. You were sure he was going to bunt and it didn't matter. He would still get a bunt single.
  10. As soon as I saw that the LF wasn't cutting that ball off, I knew it was an easy triple. Probably the fastest Cub baserunner since Campana? I don't count Billy Hamilton because he was never truly a Cub. Maybe Terrence Gore? But boy is he fast. It would just be gravy if he could hit .240.
  11. Ok, now that we have 2, I'm going to ask for more.
  12. It would be fun if they made this a laugher from the start... I just hope they score more than 1 run tonight.
  13. That would be a hefty price, no doubt. For that, I would obviously try to pry another bullpen arm from them. Miller has as much upside as any bullpen arm in MLB with minimal salary as well as a lot of team control. That package would be less painful to me than the Quintana package.
  14. Re: trade for Miller. I would part with pretty much anyone not named PCA, Horton or Ballesteros. If it took Triantos, Alcantara and Rojas I would swallow that bitter pill and be ok.
  15. I almost feel like Brennan deserves to come up before Canario does again. He has a willingness to go the other way with the ball that most everyone on the big league squad chooses not to do.
  16. I feel like we have already done that with Kyle this year, but Adbert just doesn’t seem right. Maybe he needs to channel his inner Tin Cup and go see Rene Russo.
  17. Hanger in the middle of the zone to Taylor he got away with there.
  18. Would love, just once, if Gomes actually framed a pitch. Doesn't have to do it consistently, just try it to see how it feels.
  19. I get that they are trying to get Alzolay right and save Wesneski, but at what point do you just accept what is happening and scrap the plan?
  20. Pirates out-Cubing the Cubes today. Last time I can remember that was the infamous Gregory Polanco, baby giraffe tumble game on the Matt Szczur pop up to end the game.
  21. Davis can do no wrong today. Homer, HBP (no injury), challenged a call and won, then subsequently walked against former Blue Jays uber-prospect Anthony Gose.
