  1. True. How about Pujols Arod Johan Santana Miggy Cabrera
  2. So...when you pick them, you get them at their current contract status? So picking someone like Z you only get two years before he's FA (and he'll be expensive next year), but Verlander is yours for five more years? I'm not sure about 2-10, but Pujols is #1. Arod is 2, imo.
  3. Cedeno gets a chance to show some pimpness.
  4. Wait, wth, augie threw a scoreless inning? Since when was he a pitcher?
  5. just trying to get on the highlights I bet he never would have done that at Wrigley. he would have been too busy denying autographs to children.
  6. So if we went out and bought the best player at every position, we were expected to win the series because our payroll is $100 million more than the next team, you would feel just as satisfied with that title as if we did it with an intelligent budget, good role players and the right mix of power and avg? Not even a little bit of the shine would come of the victory? No, thats what managment is supposed to do; go out and get the best players available at every position. I want a world series.
  7. I agree with vance and abuck. CubsfaninCA, I never remember you acting like this; I remember a time when I enjoyed your posts. But recently it seems your main goal is to be contradictory, and threads like this just add to that. Your posts are growing old.
  8. I wonder if he was holding back, acting like it was a towel throwing drill instead of to live batters... I'm sure he was a little tentative and holding back. Give him some time. Like woody, he'll come around. True, but woody didnt have that much problem with his velocity in his first start.
  9. No, I took his whole Cubs career into account. Partying all night, sleeping during games, busting up a fan and going on the DL, etc... Was that ever confirmed.
  10. In that case: Howry has a brain. Farnsworth doesn't. Howry. So because he got into a couple fights he doesnt have a brain? Great assumption.
  11. ok fastball farnsworth bustin up your awkward party. farnsworth > life itself.
  12. At least our players look better. Haha, ramirez looks like a lizard. Ironically enough the guys name is Elizardo.
  13. I will never recognize what bonds did; nor will he ever be counted above ruth on any list ever as far as im concerned. Ruth and Aaron are the home run kings. Period. (untill arod challenges them in a few years)
  14. You MAKE Francouer make the throw. He hasn't earn the respect to hold runners. You bet on him making a bad throw more times then not, till he proves he's a threat from RF. Until then, the decision to send Barrett, was an alright move to me. Actually, he has. He has one of the best arms in the league and everyone knows it. Except the cubs.
  15. Hey, give them credit. At least they lost creativley.
  16. Well, that was certainly a creative way to suck.
  17. ..yep..Wood and Prior have really exposed our pitching "prospects". Hill, Guzman, and Ryu likely had some type of trade value before this season. Guzman will get better. Ryu is not that bad. I dont know what to make of hill.
