  1. People who need an excuse not to like him, and have no other proof besides the (unfortunatley) accepted myth that he is a poor defender.
  2. Hahaha. That now adds up to 8 weeks of starts...
  3. Well, its 11:04 and no game thread is up, so i'll spot start this one. Tomorrow Marmol will make his debut as a starter a few days after throwing two nice innings of relief. Go cubs, i think.
  4. I'd tell everyone who saw this coming to raise their hand; but the updraft would cause the worlds rotation to be thrown off.
  5. Correction, YOU hate their guts. I'd trade with them in a heartbeat if it was a good trade. A good trade is a good trade is a good trade reguardless of who its with. (The exception to this rule being certain interdivision trades) And if the deal turns out to be a Garland for Karchner deal, with the Cubs getting the short end of the stick, do you want to deal w/ moronic Sox fans shoving it down your throat?? Three words. "Sosa for Bell" And I cant say that i've ever had a problem with a sox fan "shoving a deal down my throat." Either you or the sox fans you deal with seem to be extreemly childish.

  7. I hate the Sox. But, the management team over there has a clue. They may not exactly classify as "intelligent", but they assembled a very solid baseball team. No they didn't. Their offense is power-heavy, and they don't have good relief pitching. That "Big 4" they shoved down everyone's throats last year is gone (Shingo, Marte, Hermanson, Vizciano), and that rotation they shoved down everyone's throats isn't so good either Yet somehow... they have the second best record in baseball.
  8. Seriously dude, you're obsessed with the White Sox. If we get a good deal we should take it no matter who the team is. Not to say either way about Eyre, but trading in general. Yes I hate the Cardinals and White Sox. After the Garland-Karchner deal, I don't want to trade w/ them unless we get some good help for now AND the future. There are teams to dump players for nothing in return, but the White Sox and Cardinals are not among those teams Who has ever, said anything, about "dumping players for nothing in return" to the White Sox. I didn't. I'm saying if the White Sox want help from the North Side, they better help us out in any deal. I think the Boss would have such an attitude regarding trades with the Mets or Red Sox. I think thats the goal in any trade.... Oh, and btw, before you get all pissed about Garland for Karchner.... I think thats fair payback for Bell for Sosa..

    Sexson

Oh snap, i forgot all about weaver. WOO go you.
  10. I don't know why some here can't take a fun question and just have fun with it. Its a good point and I would have thought we were well in the race....sucks that all the other stuff happened. Wow..I know...I'll post the "removing pole from rectum" schematics later for those that need them. That made me laugh. Hard.

    Sexson

Okay, so here's the situation. Half of my fantasy pitching staff is on the DL and I need a replacement. It just so happens I have three talented first basemen; Sexson, Shelton, and Fielder. The odd ball out as far as stats are concerned is Sexson, that being said, I know he wont be THIS bad all year long. But as of right now, what do you guys think a fair return for Sexson would be; in starting pitcher currency. That is; what SP or duo of SP's would be a fair exchange for a struggling Sexson.
  12. Did Neifi die? No; i forgot to add: Cedeno/Neifi Platoon.
  13. WHY are walker AND Nevin playing? Wheres dusty?
  14. Fantasy football signups are starting on yahoo. Is it about time to select our 3 keepers?
  15. Well, if we have any shot at all of even possibly getting back in this thing, here is our chance. Lee is just around the corner, as is Prior. Our offense is finally scoring some runs, and on top of all this, the NL Central is DEAD right now. Pujols is going to miss the next six weeks, the Stro's are in an ICEcold streak, the Reds are falling back down to earth, the brewers pitching staff is hospitalized, and the pirates are worse then we ever were. So, in short, if we want to make a move, now is the time. But lets take it one step at a time, just win.
  16. The Lineup i WANT when lee gets back: Murton Walker Lee Aram Barrett Jones Cedeno Pierre The lineup we'll probably see when Lee gets back: Pierre Walker/Womack Platoon Lee Aram Barrett Jones Murton Cedeno
  17. Annnyyywwaayyyssss Z rocks.
  18. Yeah, I really dont see us rebounding anytime soon...
  19. I voted absoloutley. I could fill out a lineup, handle pitchers, complete a double switch, and know what a walk is one hundred and fifty times better than Dusty ever could. The only problem i would have is being a 17 year old in the clubhouse with a group of 25 professional big leaguers who would probably respect me about as much as hitters respect glendon rusch.
  20. That was certainly a bright spot in the game. Nothing I love more than Pujols whiffing at cubs pitches. Although I do wonder if he might not come back with a vengeance tonight... :-# .... against Glendon Rusch ??? No way !! Oh wow. Rusch vs. Pujols. Thats fair.
  21. Just to go back to what TT said earlier in the thread about Cabrera possibly being #1; If you are talking contracts, you are totally right. I assumed contracts did not matter. Even without that though, you can make a case. But when given two players both extreemly young and both extreemly talented, i'll take the one with the better work ethic. That's Pujols. Then again, i'd give my both arms, both legs, and a kidney or two to have either one on my team.
  22. Wow, i dont know exactly what to make of htis. I actually want to watch this game, and i think we might actually wi...well i dont want to go overboard. but this is fun.
