  1. I like O'neal and I think wade is cool. Of course, I follow basketball about this much post-jordan.
  2. And Jock was worth 3 years 16 million?
  3. Why in the world are you comparing giles slugging to our non power hitting shortstop in a conversation about Jaque jones? You forgot to mention that Giles OBP is 61 points higher than Jones.
  4. I predict the cubs score less runs than the astros.
  5. Thats ridiculous. I believe Raws strategy is the best.
  6. The more appropriate question would be do you understand how the position of owner works, and how it is different from that of manager?
  7. That is really my biggest fear. I fear that Hendry wont want to give any signs that last offseason was a failure, and not trade away the pierres and jones. Or worse, I fear that he actually believes this crap about "all these injuries..poor us" and in turn leaves the team how it is.
  8. Those stupid someone-hater terms agrivate me. It is just a way of grouping those whom one disagrees with together into a group. Furthermore, WHO hates prior here? There were those who were skeptical, but no one hated him. OF COURSE they were skeptical, his velocity was not to be found in his first start. /rant
  9. You do realize that the moment you posted that, the thread above became below... I realized that after i hit the post button, but then became too lazy to fix it. meh.
  10. The Football Team 1) L. Tomlinson(SD - RB) 2) M. Harrison(Ind - WR) 3) M. Vick(Atl - QB)
  11. There's the key. Which is why I say we either need to trade Jacque Jones now, or hope like all hell that he keeps up these numbers untill July 31. Looking at teams right field production I see Milwaukee in great need. Jenkins is sucking it up. I dont know who exactly they would be willing to give up for Jones, if anything, however. Nor do I know if we even have a reasonable fit with them. Also, I looked at Abreu's OBP and cried a little on the inside. Anyone wanna guess? .350? Nope .380? Not even close .400? No .450? Closer .455!!!! Thats .167 Points higher than his AVG, and nearly .100 points than our highest obp. Wow. I want him.
  12. THIS was my first game. It was amazing. I dont care if we lost. That was the game where Sosa hit HR #60, making him the first player ever to hit 60 in back to back seasons. The crowd cheerd for what seemed liek 10 minutes straight after he hit that one out (to right center i believe). *swoon*
  13. He already has a job.
  14. Look at the thread directly above this one.
  15. Well, Vance said it in his analysis of baseball; we're sellers. Barring us continuing this cool little winning streak we're on for, say, 10 more games. Anyways, assuming we are sellers, who goes and more importantly, who for? First of all here is my take on our current team, since i'm bored i'll color code it: Trade to whoever will take them Trade Not "untouchable", but no rush to trade Keep Pierre CF Walker 2B Lee 1B Aram 3B Jones RF Murton LF Barrett C Cedeno SS Neifi Bynum Blanco Mabry Nevin Wood Prior Z Marshall Maddux Rusch Marmol The Bullpen Allrighty, that was fun. Let me just say that the "keep" players are obviously not "untouchable", but there is no need to trade them in my eyes. Anyways, the question now becomes who do we trade for? Somone posted earlier that Dunn may be available at the break, if so, go for it. But I find it hard to believe that considering Cincy's actually hanging around in the race. Mench? Someone just posted that he may be losing his starting job. But, if we are selling, I think we need to go for someone who will be "the answer" at their given position. Mench isnt on my list. Dontrelle Willis? Its been rumored that he or Cabrera will have to go at the trading deadline because of money constraints. I would assume if florida chose between the two, willis would be the one to go. If he is available, I would make a strong push for him. Miguel Cabrera? ^^^. If he is indeed available i believe THIS is the guy we need to go after. Hard. If all things were perfect and I ruled the world hendry would stat selling off those i listed above as "trade to whoever will take them" now for talented youth, and then turn around and send a huge package to the fish for Cabrera. Chances are though, one of two things will happen. Cabrera will stay or he'll go somewhere with a bigger minor league system for the marlins to rape. Also, I would like to add that now is probably the perfect time to trade Jones; I doubt his value will ever be higher. So now its up to you guys, who do you all think we should go after? Who should we trade for who? I'm bored, lets talk about who goes where for what.
  16. Hello? *tumbleweed* *Crickets*
  17. I wasnt counting DLEE as he isnt playing. And I just looked at Arams low obp, and didnt even think about the fact that its still about sixty points over his avg.
  18. I find it amusing how you make two posts saying how baseball is random and is poorly described by stats, and then go and end your post by saying that the reason the cubs are bad is because they have low OBP. Also, i would like to meet these four or five good high OBP players. I can think of two good obp guys for the cubs this year: Barrett and Walker. And one who is decent: Murton (and he's in a downward obp spiral)
  19. Terrible would be David AAArdsama. Aardsma has been outstanding since his recall from Iowa.
  20. At my neighbors house, screaming NOOOOO I was Preparing for the exit from the womb that would occur in approx 42 days...
  21. I'm still hoping we can trade for dunn just so you'll change your name.
  22. OR Zambrano & Marmol We will call them the carlos brothers. Zambrano will pitch four games in a row, followed by marmols one.
  23. I second this motion. And add an ammendment, You also sound oh so much like the type of sox fan you are bashing. You know, Obnoxious, unreasonable, and more worried about the team on the other side of town and what their fans will say than the success of their own team.
  24. We need another guy who can't stay healthy? I'll take Drew while I'm at it. You're setting yourself up for lots of Neifi and Bynum. Well in my fantasy world where Hendry understands that those two guys are good, neither of those two are ever to be seen wearing anything related to the Cubs ever again, under the pain of death. Lol!
