  1. That's my problem too. I was young and took the Bulls and Packers success for granted. Exactly. When I was a kid it seemed like pretty much a sure thing that the Bulls would win. Hell, the first bulls season I really remember was the 72 win team. They just didn't lose. I remember being happy about them winning their 6th championship like i'm happy when the cubs pull off a comeback win or something. I couldn't imagine what it would be like if the Cubs won one today.
  2. I assume it has lots and lots to do with the fact that Wrigley only holds 42K at capacity. Maybe not, but that's just a guess.
  3. Bahahaha, that's awesome.
  4. 6 Bulls titles - though I was only old enough to remember the last 3. And only clearly remember the last 1 or 2. 1 Packers - but again, I really didn't even pay attention to football in 96, so I can't really count that 0 Cubs And if it counts, my highschool football team won the state championship my JR year. So....there's that.
  5. Awesome. Just..Awesome. Sucks that I just posted an article on the front page that says almost exactly this. Only probably not as eloquently. *p.s. everyone should go read the front page and stuff /plug*
  6. Huh, yah. It definitely had to be before anyone got there staff-wise. I would have loved to see that.
  7. Are we sure that was today? I was down on the field all day and didn't see anyone slide on a tarp. Unless it was long before anyone got there.
  8. Have you ever been to wrigley? 8-)
  9. I'm out. Barely have time to keep up with the crap I'm already doing.
  10. Naw, I want him to appear in a non-save situation (hopefully on the business end of the blowout stick) so he can get a proper ovation. Well that too.
  11. Or we can just hope to have a nice lead so we don't have to see wood do anything but spit sunflower seeds this whole series.
  12. Of course the girlfriend picked TODAY to move. Cause, you know, I would have totally rather have been at yesterdays game than todays. Stupid jerkfacehead.
  13. I can't believe I haven't posted in this thread yet. Now I have.
  14. You have got to be kidding me Nope. That mustache is real. Hahahahahahahahahaha. That photo made this thread worth it.
  15. He should be due to play again in a couple weeks, barring anything coming of this violation, right?
  16. This post is also so very special.
  17. Z would literally have killed Braun Bradley probably would have joined in just for gits and shiggles.
  18. lol the nationals are awesome
  19. No. Baker has taken a few teams to the playoffs, true. But I'm pretty sure his negatives far outweigh the positives. In fact, I'd probably argue his teams made it to the playoffs in spite of him, not necessarily because of him in most cases.
  20. Why would anyone be surprised that playing the field may impact his at bats? He was a DH last year and hit fine. Fresh legs work wonders. It is not unrealistic to think that a player who never has more than 300 AB a season and who recently became a DH might be impacted by wear and tear. Bradley has had more than 300 ABs 5 times in his 10 year career. Right that was a "mistype". What I meant was he averages 300 AB a year and has only had over 500 AB once in his career. I would hate to see what your keyboard looks like in order to create a 'mistype' like that.
  21. Dickie Thon couldn't hold Stubby Clapp's ...... er...... uh...... well, Stubby definitely has the better name !! I've always thought Quinton McCracken was an excellent name. That has always been among my favorites. Pokey Reese
  22. Seriously? What part of wanting to get out of the big leagues in four or five years because he feels like he's missed too many mothers day's and the growing up of his children makes him an "A-hole?" Actually, that sounds like a pretty good guy to me. What do you want to bet that, if this article was written about Theriot or Fontenot or Johnson or somebody like that, that this thread would be full of people praising them for being great family men?
  23.
