  1. You mean other teams don't K and hit slow grounders 85% of the time? They do hit 3 shallow popups with a runner on third and nobody out though.
  2. And getting hit in the face. Wasn't that him that got hit in the noggin with a batted ball?
  3. Exactly. If he hits anything on the ground it's an instant DP. And it may come as a surprize that Albert is not the Cards' best clutch hitter....that would be Molina. yeah, no. This year with... (avg/obp/slg/ops) - (rank on team according to baseball reference) RISP: Pujols: .353/.548/.686/1.234 - 1 Molina: .281/.408/.316/.724 - 8 Close & Late: Pujols: .267/.450/.300/.750 - 6 Molina: .231/.231/.269/.500 - 13 Tie Game: Pujols: .351/.442/.844/1.286 - 3 Molina: .273/.347/.341/.688 - 9 Within 1 Run: Pujols: .312/.455/.712/1.167 - 1 Molina: .255/.303/.324/.626 - 14 Innings 7-9 Pujols: .310/.430/.521/.951 - 5 Molina: .277/.338/.369/.707 - 11 I could keep going... But yeah, it's not even close.
  4. I get the two and a half week thing, at least in theory. But at the same time, had he pulled dempster it would have required a whole 3 innings from our bullpen. That's nothing. I could see if Demps was at like 100 pitches in the 5th and he decided to keep him out for the sixth, but not the 7th.
  5. Holy crap yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes. Would they trade drew though? And would we have anyone they would even want?
  6. Sure it did. If he pulled him for a pinch hitter then maybe we score that inning. Then he wouldnt have come in the following inning and let runners on - who knows if his replacement would have. It definitely mattered.
  7. When I was in high school I spent a couple of hours one afternoon getting the Willie Mays Hayes bat bounce down, giving myself a blister and hitting myself in the junk a couple of times to boot. Completely worth it. :-))
  8. and he grounded into a DP. lol.
  9. Case in point: Right now in the mets/cards game. There is one out, a runner on first, and Pujols is up. The mets are up by 1. I would seriously consider walking him here. I'd much rather face ludwick.
