  1. You would still be blacked out tonight (both feeds) because it's still the Cubs playing and you are in their blackout area. Depending on you internet connection you can be very close to real time, but for the most part I usually am about 10-15 sec. behind (or about 2-3 pitches). ah. well if I can't see the cubs then it's really not worth me wasting my money on it. Thanks for saving me a few bucks.
  2. Yeah I'm watching on mlb.tv seems to be working fine no, what i was wondering was this: Well I'm in Washington DC for the summer and I am actually using my friend's account, so I have no idea what the blackout rules are in Chicago. This is the first time I've used mlbtv because I don't have a tv in my apartment. The quality is pretty good and it really isn't more than a few seconds behind normally. Thanks. Does anyone else have any idea on how that blackout thing works?

  4. So you're complaining that we're not vomiting praise for a random and completely unfunny thread?
  5. anybody in here watching the game on MLB.TV? I posted a thread in cubs discussions w/ a couple of questions about the service. If someone could check it out and shoot me an answer that'd be swell.
  6. I've been considering hooking myself up with MLB.TV for a while now because my lovely dorm doesn't pick up CSN or CSN+ so I still can't watch half of the games. I just had a question about the blackout rules. Obviously, living in chicago both the Cubs and Sox are blacked out for me. However, take tonight as an example. We are playing the pirates, so will I be able to watch the game, just on the pirates broadcast? Or will it be blacked out since the cubs are playing? Also, how terrible is MLB.TV? That is, how far behind the actual game does it tend to run?
  7. i was surprised when i saw him too. Totally pictured some scrawny white guy with a scruffy face every time i heard his name.
  8. I can't help but think this is completely inappropriate...
  9. Seriously, this division is full of so much suck.
  10. So I've been out of town for a couple days and thus haven't paid much attention to the news (or the cubs). I was just thinking on saturday "you know what would really suck/be hilarious, if the indians traded DeRo to the Cardinals. That would be hilariously bad." Then this morning i woke up and turned on ESPN to see DeRo making a real nice catch out in left field in a cardinals jersey. baaahahahaha
  11. I just wanted to say *****ROAST4EVA****** K, i'm done.
  12. I just really, really don't care. it's not like he got caught on camera at a frat party hitting a bong and looking like a [expletive]. He did something in (obviously) relative privacy and clearly not during the playing season that may/maynot be illegal in puerto rico or wherever he was at the time. I don't really think it's possible for me to care much less about it.
  13. I keep wanting to stop by 5 guys, but it's a little bit out of the way for me. Is it worth it? What makes them so good?
  14. Good one! My heart skipped a beat when I read the headline "Geovany Soto test positive for......... .........Oh God, this crappy season is about to get worse........ marijuana." Oh. Well that's not so bad. Same. I was like "Oh crap last season was roid f.....oh. It's weed. I don't care"
  15. Yeah. Why would we be upset that he was smoking weed and devouring cases of Cheetos instead of preparing for the season? He's playing just fine, right? He's actually playing very well lately. You really think pot = baseball decline? Everyone's been crying about how fat he is this year, right? It's not a stretch to think that his weight issues could be related to smoking weed. I'm inclined more to think it has to do with him always being big. Probably because he's always smoked pot. Duhhhh. Really though, that's one of the most ludicrous things I've ever heard. I know lots and lots of skinny people who smoke pot. Just like I know some fat people. Pot =/= weight problem.
  16. Well, it's highly possible that Soto had not actually used marijuana for a month before the test. Especially as, um, portly as he came into camp. Pot mainly stores in fat cells. The real joke here is that his smoking pot is even an issue. Or illegal. From you, alright!?!? I learned it from watching you!! At least he's using good beans..
  17. who exactly are you benching to get Mr. Dunn into the lineup? Soriano to 2B. Dunn to LF. Done. (pun intended) I dont usually complain about defense - but that would be hilariously bad.
  18. Exactly. "But Jim Hendry traded for Aram in 2003", pleaded the teary eyed Cubs fan...... And has a large part of the responsibility for turning this team from a perennial doormat to back-to-back division champs. There are lots of reasons why hendry is not a great GM, but he's not as terrible as you'd love to make him seem.
