  1. :-)) Idk why, but this post had me rolling. :rotfl:
  2. I don't think so. I think if the gates open and the game is just delayed for a few hours there's nothing the neighborhood can do about it. I could be way off, here, but I really doubt they'd have to call the game because of a neighborhood policy. Or else extra inning games on friday would be a problem, too.
  3. +1 Really though, His 3 HR's had fluke written all over them. That's not his natural swing and if he continues to try to jack everything out of the park maybe he'll hit 7 or 8 this year but he's also going to see his batting average plummet. I don't think he'll do that. So I say 4 or 5 total this year. I've got to say it's funny that this is still the last response several hours after he hit #5 in the middle of May. What an odd season he's had so far at the plate. Seriously. What a weird year.
  4. Great post, I agree. His history is going to come back to bite him every time something like this happens. It's pretty clear he's mellowed out a lot from his earlier years but, thanks to his track record, all he has to do is look at somebody wrong and they'll claim that it's "Bradley being Bradley" or whatever.
  5. I've heard rumors our payroll may actually have room to expand w/ TR. Maybe I'm off but that's what I remember hearing.
  6. And just to pad my post count a little bit more, Hit Tracker actually DOES have data for Hill's HR. They say that, unobstructed, it would have flown an even 500 feet. http://www.hittrackeronline.com/historic/hill_plot.jpg http://www.hittrackeronline.com/historic/hill_trajectory.jpg And since I brought it up in regards to Miltons HR, the speed off bat for that bomb was 116.7MPH http://www.hittrackeronline.com/historic.php?id=2000_1
  7. I believe Bruce Miles wrote 440 feet in his column. Seemed farther, but I also think Chicago has a hard time judging distance. I seem to remember them upsetting Hill after the rooftop shot with an absurdly low number. Yeah they called that like barely over 500 originally. EDIT: Actually, I just checked and they originally called it at 490 feet, lol. I remember him saying something to the effect of "BS, it was 700 easy" That he did. Also, just checked hit tracker and according to them Miltons HR last night had a "True distance" (That is, if there was no obstruction to stop it, it would have gone) 450 feet. EDIT again: Also, last nights Milton HR was one of the faster "speed off the bat"'s recorded all year. It was going 111.8 MPH when it left his bat (fastest this year was Pujols at 119.7)

EDIT: Actually, I just checked and they originally called it at 490 feet, lol. EDIT2: Also, just found THIS site that says the ball was actually only 451.2 feet. That is, it landed that distance from home plate. I wish that Hit Tracker had data going back that far to show its "True" distance.
  9. True. I have a feeling though that if we won the WS this year that next year if we lose the first three games people would be right back to bitching.
  10. Jim McMahon played 2 years in Green Bay and he's not exactly putting his life at risk when he shows up to Wrigley Field or any other Chicago establishments. They aren't the same player, but Favre obviously built up a lot more equity in Green Bay than McMahon did in Chicago. He hasn't said anything negative about the fans, just guy who ran him out of town, just like a lot of ex-Bears bad mouthed the McCaskeys. Then again, unlike McMahon, Favre shouldn't be in a position where he as to make appearances in Wisconsin to make a living. Time will absolutely heal the wounds. There will be tons of fans at his HOF induction, and he'll be worshipped whenever he walks into Lambau. I don't know man. Do you have any Packer fan friends? I mean some of these guys already hate him with a passion. I was surprised at how quickly and fully they turned on him. If he goes back into Lambeau, it'll be out of spite -- he's going to Minny to stab at the Packers. One last hurrah to show them how wrong they are. I mean it's a long, sharp drop from where he was 2 years ago. His first move split the Packer fan base in half. I think this one will destroy any he has left. I don't think so. My girlfriend is from Green Bay and thus I know plenty of diehards. Right when he signed with the jets there was about half of "packer nation" that hated him and the other half that still loved him. I was actually at the first preseason game and it seemed like half of the stadium was still wearing favre jerseys. Everyone else was either wearing a Favre jersey with "Favre who" written on the back or some other packers gear. By the end of the season though it seemed much more like the group as a whole (at least, those I knew from GB) had let it go and were still proud of all the great years he had in GB. Hell, the packers were planning on retiring his number this year. I really doubt the scars are still that deep. If he went to the Vikings, they'd hate him for a short time but they'd get over that, too. Hell, Ron Santo ended his career on the southside and look at how he's responded to here. Favre will be fine. That city loved him far, far too much to ever completely turn on him. That said - he still needs to retire.
  11. Oh, and I have many many many incidents in support of the fact that Cubs fans, do in large part, really suck.
  12. I like Milton Bradley. definitely my fave position player now, since rammy went down. Seriously, I love that guy. Not only does he have my last name and the number of my favorite cub (therefore making it OK to have a jersey with my name on it - and with my favorite cub number) but he's animated, he's really good at baseball, and he doesn't B.S. about things. Milton rocks.
  13. I was all ready to find some random article about Aramis Ramirez just to be a jerk....then i remembered :( Kidding. Thanks for passing that along.
  14. For the love of god just retire, man.
  15. If he doesn't get his ribs broken first.

  17. A closet. Imagine a room about half the size of the part of the cubs lockerroom shown above. The cubs lockerroom has like a little kitchen and a weight room attached to it. The visitors does not. It's just a little square room. I didn't think the visitors was that bad. The Cubs' is rectangular, very narrow. The visitors' is more square. Not sure if you measured it the sizes are really all that different. Like I said, though, the difference is that attached to the cubs is a small kitchen-like area and a room with some weight equipment. The visitors is just that tiny little square.
  18. A closet. Imagine a room about half the size of the part of the cubs lockerroom shown above. The cubs lockerroom has like a little kitchen and a weight room attached to it. The visitors does not. It's just a little square room. I do remember Len showing the hallway from the dugout to the visitors lockerroom. It's like 5 miles long, right? :) honestly i've never taken that trek. I went in through the door on the concourse down the 1b line.
  19. Was that retaliation though? If I remember correctly, at the time whoever was throwing couldn't find the the strikezone with a GPS system. My memory could be off but I thought I remembered him being kinda wild at that point.
