  1. I thought this might be a good idea for a thread. I just joined onto Twitter to try it out for the purpose, mainly, of following updates from Will Carrol on the Ramirez injury. That said, I figured it might be useful for those interested to compile a list of useful baseball update sources on twitter. I only have two as of right now, but please add on other names that you know. Twitter Name - Who is it? injuryexpert - Will Carrol espnmlbnews - Self Explanatory
  2. Manny Ramirez, Ryan Doumit, Alex Rodriguez, Ervin Santana(ok, those last two don't really count, I suppose because I knew what I was getting into), Stephen Drew.
  3. Part of me is trying to reassure myself that with Lee, Soto, Bradley, and Soriano the team should still have enough offensive juice to keep the team winning. So yeah, Now would be a great time for Bradley, Lee, and Soto to show up.
  4. "just one of those things that could F up our season" Ugh, as soon as I saw that happen I got a knot in my stomach. This is going to suck.
  5. Keeping up with the Grand Slam totals: As of right now there have been 36 grand slams hit this year. Only 6 teams have NOT hit a grand slam so far this year, they are Arizona, Atlanta, Houston, LA Angels, Oakland, and San Diego. 7 teams have hit 2 Grand slams, One team has hit 3 (Tampa Bay), and Philadelphia leads the pack with 4. Comparatively, last year there were 124 Grand Slams hit, so we're over a quarter of the way there already. Also, the White Sox led all of baseball with 12 last year and the league average for GS per team was 4.
  6. Salty hit one the other day.
  7. lol yeah, racist stereotypes are awesome.
  8. Sorry this weeks recap will not be posted. Finals are kicking my butt right now and I need to focus on that. Hopefully it will return this Sunday. If not, then certainly the following week as classes will be over.
  9. There was a moron in my section back during the Cards series that had one of these on. I really wanted to ask him if he realized that Zambrano is from Venezuela.
  10. You're just not going to see Theriot's name at the top of this list very often........ 05/01 - 05/04 AB R H 2b 3b HR RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS BABIP P/PA IsoD RBI% Theriot 17 4 6 0 1 3 8 1 4 0.353 0.389 1.000 1.389 0.300 3.83 0.036 0.625 Fontenot 10 2 5 0 0 1 4 1 2 0.500 0.500 0.800 1.300 0.571 3.92 0.000 0.429 D Lee 13 4 4 0 0 2 5 3 4 0.308 0.438 0.769 1.207 0.286 4.50 0.130 0.333 Hoffpauir 4 1 2 0 0 0 0 2 0 0.500 0.667 0.500 1.167 0.500 4.17 0.167 0.000 Soto 14 1 5 1 0 0 2 2 3 0.357 0.438 0.429 0.866 0.455 4.81 0.080 0.400 Miles 13 3 3 2 0 0 1 2 1 0.231 0.333 0.385 0.718 0.250 3.33 0.103 0.083 Johnson 6 2 2 0 0 0 1 1 1 0.333 0.375 0.333 0.708 0.400 4.13 0.042 0.200 Soriano 18 3 4 1 0 0 0 1 6 0.222 0.263 0.278 0.541 0.333 3.63 0.041 0.000 Bradley 12 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 3 0.167 0.231 0.167 0.397 0.222 4.62 0.064 0.000 Fukudome 6 2 0 0 0 0 0 2 0 0.000 0.250 0.000 0.250 0.000 4.13 0.250 0.000 Ramirez 4 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 1 0.000 0.200 0.000 0.200 0.000 3.20 0.200 0.000 May 128 24 35 5 1 6 23 17 32 0.273 0.358 0.469 0.827 0.322 4.08 0.085 0.221 Season totals 849 121 212 36 2 31 116 100 183 0.250 0.335 0.406 0.741 0.285 3.90 0.085 0.180 With the exception of miles and probably johnson, that list looks completely backwards.
  11. Wow, that's pretty awesome.
  12. And a triple that he absolutely hammered.
  13. Ryan Theriot, LOL
  14. When I saw that ball leave the bat I couldn't believe it. The wind was blowing in at that point, too (though, not very hard)
  15. That was not a fun game to be at. Also, Theriots throw in the 10th: WOW. Not that it mattered at that point but it was Jacque Jones-esque.
  16. Well, no results but a 30 pitch inning, if nothing else.
  17. Yeah, but those fill up really really fast.
  18. oye. I can't wait till we're back to full strength.
  19. Hoffpauir almost joined the party last night. Too bad.
  20. Yeah, as they've said there is no parking near wrigley. Down by belmont there are lots of un-metered, free places to park. It's like 5 or 6 blocks from the park, just enjoy the walk.
  21. My team sucks.
  22. He's still appealing the suspension. Hmm. I think that suspension was as stupid as anyone, but it seems like it would make sense to have just served it while he was on the bench anyway.
  23. Except Maddux was a lot better at it then lilly.
  24. Particularly when Fontenot would shift back to second and the difference in offensive production would be Jake Fox v. Aaron Miles. it almost makes too much sense.
  25. That's good news. I have no idea about Ramirez, but the more regulars we can get back in the lineup the better. Of course, now Bradley just has to look like he knows what he's doing.
