  1. Golf stats are kindo of jacked. If you hit all your GIR that stat will look good but you putts stats will probably look bad. The pros are so good that if they are off the green(sand, fringe, whatever) they can get it close enough to 1 putt, thus making it sound like your putts are low, but when you are off the green getting it in the hole is less likely. So sometimes its better to have 2 putts than 1 putt because at least you have a better shot at a birdie. Median or average putts might be an interesting stat if they kept track of that stuff. Some other putting stat besides 'putts'.
  2. Dudes got game oozing out of him.
  3. He has good power, he just goes with the pitches. He'll turn on a ball inside, but he doesnt seem to get the chance to often. Yesterday they were trying to bust him in inside on one appearence. I really dont think thats a good idea either. Overall, im impressed with him.
  4. Yeah the putt was clutch. Did we just witness the biggest putt of Tigers career. Yeah i know hes had a lot but on the 18th of a major to send it? Rocco just had the 4 rounds of his life, im not too optimisitic he has another one left in him. If he had a 3 hole playoff today i think he would be good, but 18...i have my doubts.
  5. Ok so now Jim is swinging the bat well, next id like to see him takes his walks like he has in the past. He's on his way.
  6. After reading the article about lous thoughts on batting order in todays trib i think Kosuke in the #2 is because Theriot is out of the lineup. Even if he did good today he would move back to the #5.
  7. Aaron Miles was the only pitcher to not give up a run in the 20-2 loss. He pitched a perfect inning.
  8. when the Cubs lose they barely lose. Always in the games. .
  9. If my TV didnt have volume i wouldnt know that there is anybody in attendance at the Staples Center. The only people i can see are like the first 15 rows behind the benches. It looks like the only lights on are the ones over the court. What the heck, i dont like that.
  10. I really like the 3 hour difference having the open on the west coast. I prefer US Opens to kick the guys asses but i wont complain to much about Torrey. 3 guys game who i like are about out. Retief, Jesper and Padraig.
  11. Id have prefered Murton. Im more inclinded to believe Matt has a better chance(he already has done it) to duplicate his AAA numbers this year to MLB. His ISOD better and his BB/K ratio is much better than erics. Its not a horrible choice but i believe there was one better.
  12. Yeah i laugh that this dude is the 8th hitter, thats a compliment to him and this team. I was unsure he could repeat the 06 numbers in 07, but was way more optimistic he could repeat 07 in 08. Theriot #s + accent to the bigs is awfully similiar to DeRosa's. Mark had more of frame to grow into the power but they are quite similar up to where Theriot is now. Anyway Mark is awesome and his versatility is way beyond what i imagined.
  13. Yeah i dont really like the Angels OBP, dont like the A's OBP that much either. Ill have to go with Boston because of their balance of front line pitching and offense. Im this close to putting the nail in the Tigers coffin.
  14. Rich has been struggling with his control since spring training. Its hard for me to come to a conclusion on a specific incident/event during the season that was the beginning of his control downfall. I remember reading them tweaking his mechanics in spring, maybe that was the cause. It's like he has gone back to his Michigan days and first couple years of the minors with his lack of control.
  15. Bob entertains me much more than Stone. I dont need analysis all the time, Stone was good but he came off as smart ass. I really really like Len. He's solid and doesnt have stupid 'bits' that he uses. Its very natural and not staged. Chip drove me nuts with all this stupid sayings and jokes he would play with Stone (they werent jokes but he thought they were). A PBP guy shouldnt annoy me, i cant stand guys who annoy me. And last night i listened to Vin Scully. Dudes in the booth all by himself and he still brings it.
  16. he broke back for 3 steps before coming in on it...it was typical edmonds making what should have been a routine catch look special I dont see these 3 steps back you are talking about. Its on mlb.tv. He hesitates very slightly to left and then charges hard.
  17. Woods slider needs to get out of the way of left handers body parts. Soto better get familiar with a steady diet of breaking balls. He didnt look very good last night. Edmonds' diving snow cone catch was fantastic. If he continues to hit this offense is really freaking deep.
  18. Wilken conference call about Cashner on Cubs.com He will start at RP but 'let it play out' and see if he might become a starter. Describes the slider more as power curve. One of the reasons they drafted him Good command of the fastball. Good feel for the change. Best delivery in the draft. Cashner call Left HS at 5'9 is now 6'6. Feels like this is the first year he has grown into his body. Mets and Mariners also interested in 1st round selection. At first didnt like the move to RP this year. Started the year sitting at 94 and moved his way up.
  19. Cashner stats dont support him coming up this year. His command isnt very good. If lou gets pissed at Wuertz for walking two guys, this kid doesnt stand a chance. And its not like the Cubs need BP help even on the backend.
  20. a lot of his weight looks like it below the belt. how the hell do you lose that. He looks like Benji Molina playing third.
