  1. 'Coming down' highlights of a catcher. Jesus. How bought they show him throwing somebody out.
  2. Ken Griffey Jr.......Keep watching. No literally keep watching its been a long time to 600
  3. I wonder what the Cubs war room looks like? Maybe its on location at a Ponderosa
  4. It's probably my favorite thing about them right now. Yeah and even if they are up by a lot they dont give at bats away. Guys coming in off the bench arent lenny harris hacking either. There was something Len said like 4-6 games ago that the Cubs at that time had like 17 consectutive games with the bases loaded(they've done so since he mentioned that). They are loaded all the freaking time.
  5. The games seem long... When the Cubs have been down in games im like hey there is a lot off innings left for this offense. No panic. But the games also seem short... The other team better not fall behind early and let the Cubs shorten the game with the bullpen. When the Cubs are up around the 5th the other team better hurry the hell up and score as many as possible, outs are running out quickly.
  6. So THIS is what its like to watch a good team. I can get used to this.
  7. I dont see this as so bad. Soto-Id take a guy like this to come through the system every 3-4 years. Gallagher-Dude looks like he can be really good. Fantastic prospect. Hart-Went through some tough times in MLB (not really that bad)but is having a good AAA season. Vitters-Too early to write him off. Rhee-Pretty exciting prospect Pie-Maybe not a 'prospect' anymore but he is in AAA and i havent written him off yet. Ascanio-Baseball America undervalues the role player or RP. They look at things as star, tools, ceiling, blah. Where was Michael Wuertz ever ranked? Hoff has a decent shot at replacing Ward next yeat too. Donaldson-Dont get me started on him.
  8. 98 MPH heat right here please. 500 feet, no thanks im not too excited about being the next Dopirak or Harvey. Chics dig the long ball but they dont show up for BP. 300 yard drives doesnt really seperate you very much, especially for the pros. 350 now thats a different story.
  9. Aramis' ISOD is here to stay. It may not end up .120 but it will be a lot closer to that .60
  10. Id go to game 7 with Marmol/Wood. This reminds me a lot like Rivera/Wetteland in many ways.
  11. Its good for when they have HFA throughout. 8-)
  12. Neal Cotts has a seat available on the Iowa shuttle. Righties 17.2IP/16H/9BB/18K Lefties 9.1IP/7H/1BB/15K At least he is appearing to be a solid september callup. The walks or lack thereof is encouraging. Also im hoping that if he can keep this up or close to it he will be the 2009 LOOGY replacing Eyre. And cheap!
  13. Rondell. Dude would hit frozen ropes that left the park faster than it came in from the mound. Once I was in Milwaukee walking the concourse on the left side of the field and damn near snapped my neck trying to follow it go down the line for a homer. Im the jackass that clicked burnitz but meant to punch rondell.
  14. It's called LSD. its called average for this offense. 8-)
  15. I still like Gallaghers stuff. I saw nice sinking fastballs mixed in today. He k'd Berkman twice. curve to Lee sucked crap and bourn got him good twice. Go look at Marmols 1st year numbers. Marmol had good stuff then, just didnt put it all together right away.
  16. I went with Physical Graffiti over IV. When i listen to IV i mostly enjoy/listen the last 4 songs because i hear the 'first side' more on the radio. PG i hear less on the radio and enjoy firing that up in the player at home. Plus it has more songs :)
  17. Chemistry 101: Garbage in, Garbage out. 3/5ths of their starting rotation has an ERA of greater than 6.00. Thats 27 starts right there. No their offense isnt going to score 1,000 runs but those 3 guys have totally crapped out. Bonderman is at 4.76 so hes not lights out either. 14 of the current 25 man roster went to the WS just 2 years ago. Did they go to the WS despite the chemistry then or do they all hate each other now. They have some good players that are just flat out sucking.
  18. Power reliever, fastball/slider, like Marmol and Wuertz. When is the last time the Cubs had a sidearm reliever? Clay Rapada circa 2007. Dude faced 1 batter and got him out. Does that count :) Speaking of that dude he is doing pretty well so far for the Tigers. Leyland brought him in to face a righty and then after he walked the batter he got yanked. I scratched my head at that usage of the lefty sidearmer in that instance. Anyway good news about Ascanio. I was really interested to see what he was going to do in AAA this year and so far im pleased with his numbers. Now i get to actually see his stuff.
  19. I really like Gallagher's stuff. His outing #s arent knock your socks off but ive really like what i seen with the fastball and especially the curve. The dude has big league stuff, might have a rough outing here or there but hes got the goods to work with.
  20. Runs Created Soto-29 McCann-26 Martin-24 Mauer-23 Doumit-22 AJ-22 (and for fun) Yadier-15 Soto also has 5-7% LD% greater than these guys too (McCann is at 15%) Even when he cools off a bit he should remain near the top. I dont have a problem with Soto not hitting to RF, he hits the ball very had and has good power to make that up. Keep on truckin.
  21. "Have fun playing in the the rollerdome" And then blow one of those Viking horns in his face.
  22. freaking marmol. im going to war with him game 7 type
