    In my limited reading of a few publications i think the Bears defense is being taken WAY to lightly. There were so many games last year with multiple starters missing (they seem to be judging them by last years #s). The defense by position is stacked and deep. Tomorrows game will be boring and meaningless on what they do on defense. There are like 2-3 players worth watching tomorrow; Bazuin, Harrison and Bowman. The other guys on defense i could give a fart noise about. The story will be the offense and like 10+ players.

    Yes. HFA Obviously making the playoffs is more important than not but HFA would be nice.

    Ron Santo's Veteran Committee Results 2003 -- 56.8% (third highest on the ballot) 2005 -- 65.0% (tied for highest) 2007 -- 69.5% (highest) In 2007 he was 5 votes short. It really is a joke he isnt in. If the VC can't vote this dude in they are worthless.

    Wuertz's era sucks but his WHIP is good and is K/IP is more in line to his mlb #s. His k/bb this year was the number that was concerning, not enough for a demotion but the one number that made me scratch my head a little. I still hold out that he will bring something to this team and maybe even in the postseason too. If other teams were able to pick up a talent like his at the trade deadline id think they'd be pretty happy; but Wuertz just sits in Iowa for now.

    Camp does seem to pretty non newsworthy so far. Although it appears Manning is now a nickel back and not FS. Corey Graham is having a good camp replacing injured Tillman. I2 beefed up over the summer and came in at over 300 and is now 295. Williams lack of reps because of back spasms is a bit disappointing so far. I saw a 5 minute practice video and a lot of the plays were shotgun, whatever that means or doesnt.

    Baseball can be such a weird game at times. 5 games ago the Cubs were experiencing their worst offensive stretch of the season for a good lenght of time and were tied for first. 5 games later and a 4 game sweep to a hot Milwaukee changed all of that. Amazing last 5 days and amazing 4 game sweep. 5 up on Milwaukee and STL. Crazy but nice.

    If any team's 3 and 4 hitters go in a slump in a five or seven game playoff series, chances are that team will be in some trouble. Yeah and if Sori/Aram/Lee get hot like they did last sept is all over. This years O is so much deeper it would be sick if those 3 got hot at the same time.

    i didnt see Edmonds first one but caught the grand slam. i didnt think it was a home run when he hit and as it developed hoped for a double. the HR was awesome.

    Pull the plug on this Hoover so this offense can stop sucking. This is one rough stretch. I was watching the NYY/BOS game and Sox have scored 25 runs in 8 games. they are having the same trouble as the Cubs are with their offense sucking. Too good to hold the Cubs O down for long. Thats what ive been saying and im waiting......

    A few years ago Manny was put on unconditional waivers(or whatever that is called) after the season was over. Noboby took advantage of that opportunity because at the time his salary was an considered an albatross. That was the time to get him and few years later his contract actually became 'fair market value'.

    haha i hate the freaking marlins too. ive been saying that to myself yesterday and today. even when the cubs won on thursday i hated those bastards.
